Where are my iTunes libraries?

I have an iPod Touch and my new iPad Mini. On my iPod Touch, all of the music and video files are available from the iTunes desktop, or by navigating to (User)/iTunes/iTunes Library.
However, even though I back up my iPad Mini and have lots of music and files there, I can't locate the files when the iPad isn't in the Lightning connector. When I perform a Spotlight search on an item I know is on my iPad Mini, I can't see the files- until I back up iTunes. Where are the files located? Why can't Spotlight locate my backed-up iPad library items?
Thanks!

That means that the items on my iPad Mini only appear on a search when my iPad Mini is attached via Lightning connection; when disconnected, the files only appear on my iPad Mini.
Let's suppose that I have an mp4 video that's on my iPad Mini. If it's being backed up, that means that a copy of the video should reside in my backup drive. But when I look on the backup drive for the specific mp4 video, it doesn't appear anywhere. Where is it located?
If the file is somehow deleted from my iPad Mini, and I need to get a copy of the file from my backup drive, where do I find it?
Another idea comes to mind. My iPad Mini files aren't being backed up at all; only my iPod Touch files are being backed up. Each device requires a different HD device to back up the data, or a single drive partitioned in two parts. In other words, I need to back up separately for the iPod Touch and iPad Mini.

  • Where are imported shared libraries defined

    in system-application.xml, the imported-shared-libraries are defined as :
    <imported-shared-libraries>
    <import-shared-library name="oracle.dms"/>
    <import-shared-library name="oracle.jdbc"/>
    and these are used in server.xml like:
    <import-shared-library name="oracle.jdbc"/>
    my questions is where does the imported libraries name and actual jar files defined. for ex. for the name oracle.jdbc, where are the jar libraries location defined?
    I got a problem looks like application server not able to find these jars unless I copy them to the applib folder.
    Thanks

    Additional shared libraries may be configured to override the default shared libaries, including the oracle.jdbc library.

  • What are "prevoius itunes libraries" files for?

    I found a file in finder, music/itunes/prevoius itunes libraries.. and with random dates back to the beginning of this particular macbookpro, I did purchase a new macbook pro recently and moved my itunes folder to the new one, I just want to delete these files as I need the free space on this older macbook which I stil use, so any idea why they are there and can I delete them, it might free up some 10Gb?

    Hi,
    They provide a back up should something go wrong with update. Once iTunes has been updated successfully, there is no need to retain such files.
    I suggest that you keep latest and delete the rest.

  • HT3819 If there are multiple iTunes libraries on one computer, will I be able to only sync my own?

    I have a shared computer where my iTunes is at because until now I didn't have the right memory or speed to have iTunes on my previous laptops. I just want to make sure that if I use Home Sharing that I will only be able to sync my library to my laptop, and not my brothers as well.

    Sync your library to your laptop from where?
    Wiht Home Sharing enabled, you will be able to see all other libraries opened ont eh same network and authorized for Home Sharing with the same account.

  • Where are the iTunes plist files

    I changed to Lion.  Because the OS I started from had corrupt files I opted to partition and create a clean instal.  Because of the corruption on the old system I do not want to use file migration.  The only two things I need to move are my .plist files for iTunes and iPhoto, which I can find on the old system but not on Lion.
    I unlocked the hidden files but I can't find the library or the prefernce folder in which to place the old .plist files.  Where is it?  Does anyone know?

    The Library is Hidden in Lion.  Finder Menubar/Hold the Option key/Go/Library
    Files will be in ~/Library/Preferences

  • Where are the iTunes visualizer .bundle's?

    In the past I've installed a bunch of iTunes visualizers. Recently I wondered why many have disappeared from the Visualizer menu in iTunes.
    indeed, I found a bunch of visualizer .bundle files in here:
    /library/iTunes/iTunes Plug-ins, both on my user library and the system library.
    Here's the kicker though- none of those show up in the menu in iTunes. And those that do show up in iTunes.. are not in the beforementioned Library Plug-ins folders. And no, these aren't the standard iTunes visualizers, but custom ones I installed from wowlab. But I installed them just by placing them in the iTunes Plug-ins folder.. so how come they're gone from that folder, yet they are the only ones that work in iTunes?
    So it seems almost like the working .bundle's are somewhere else. But where?
    Halp... how do I get the rest of my visualizers working again?
    (iTunes 10.6.3, Lion 10.8.1)

    It depends on how you have iTunes Preferences set. The default is that when you drag files into the Music list they are copied into the library (so now you have two copies). You can change this so that all the iTunes Library contains is a references to the files - effectively an alias. Obviously if you move the files, iTunes can't find them.
    In your case, if your iTune/iTunes Music folder and the album folders inside it contain actual music files then the files outside the iTunes folder are duplicates and can be removed. If the files are simply references, and thus very small, then you can't remove the actual music files.
    The quick test is to close iTunes and remove them temporarily. Then open iTunes and see whether your songs play. Scroll through the list looking for the small i in a circle sign to the left of the title which indicates it can't find the file. If you don't find any then you are safe to get rid of the duplicate files.
    In doing all this do not tamper with anything in the iTunes folder.

  • Where are my iTunes media files going?

    I have lost songs several times.  I go to play a song, and iTunes can't locate the file and there is a next to the title.  Sometimes it's only one or two songs from an album, sometimes the whole album.  Sometimes it's CDs I own and have ripped, sometimes music downloaded from the internet.  Many are no longer downloadable.  There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason.  I just checked and 1/4 of my extensive library is missing; that's about 500 songs!  I have not moved these files - I didn't even know where to find them in the finder until yesterday.  They don't appear to be anywhere on my hard drive.  I've checked "get info" to see where they are supposed to be, but they aren't there.  I've searched via spotlight and they can't be found anywhere.  Luckily, I do have everything backed up to my time capsule and I CAN find them there from July 29.  It's a real pain to find them there an bring them back.  I haven't figured out how to bring them all back at once, just one song or album at a time... all 500 of them:-(
    Any idea what's happening?  Was there a new version of iTunes released during August that I didn't notice?  This has happened to me quite a few times and it's really frustrating that I never know when my music is going to evaporate.  I'm ready to go back to burning CDs - especially for the ones that can't be replaced.

    I'm using a MacBook Pro with osx 10.7.4.  iTunes 10.

  • Where are my iTunes U audio items I synched?

    I downloaded several free iTunes U items subscribed to through iTunes Store podcast section. I synched some of it to my iPod Nano. I can see the video items just fine under "Movies", but I can't find the audio only items anywhere (not in Podcasts, not in Music, and I looked pretty much everywhere). When I click on my iPod in iTunes when I'm connected, I see the audio items as selected for synching (and it's not giving me any indication that they are NOT synching), but they're not showing up on my iPod screen. Are they on the Nano or not? I see from the iTunes U site that it's meant to be for Touch and iPhone, but then why am I seeing the video items with no problem??

    OK, I found them!! Believe it or not, you have to start with Music >> Playlists >> iTunes U, and there they are! Since I didn't have multiple playlists loaded in, I never looked there.

  • Where are my iTunes?

    I have a small library of music on my iBook and almost as many podcasts but I recently purchased my new iMac and using the firewire target mode tried to get everything copied across.
    Long story short, things like iMovies and iTunes and iPhoto library didn't transfer though documents etc did.
    I've located and copied my iPhoto library and thought I'd also done that for iTunes but when I run the app I get the library entries but there doesn't appear to be any music? How do I move it to my iMac?
    Can anyone help?
    iMac Core Duo   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   iBook G3-800 | 30GB | 640MB | Airport

    Usually your audio tracks are located in: ./Users/YourUserID/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music

  • Where are my itunes match songs

    I've had iTunes Match for 8 months now and its been just fine.  Today, I went into iTunes and every song that was in the cloud is gone.  I've updated Match and turned it on and off and still nothing.  Its about 4000 songs that are gone.  What canI do?

    Go to settings, music, then enable iTunes match and wait 3 seconds for a confirmation alert. Enter your password and thats it. It should take half a minute for the songs to show up in the iPod app.

  • Where are the "Common Libraries" in Flash Pro CC?

    Hello,
    I am taking a Flash short course, and in the instructions for one of my assignments it says:
    "To access these libraries from your menu bar go to Window>Common Libraries>Buttons.
    A new library panel will open that allows you to access a vast array of possibilities. The buttons
    are stored in folders that you have to double-click to open. They are organized into categories."
    This sounds great...except there is no such listing when I click on the "Window" drop down menu,
    or in any of the submenus, either.
    Does this mean I have to somehow download the libraries from Adobe? I tried figuring it out on my own, and searched Adobe's site;
    but couldn't find an answer.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!!

    Thanks much, Rob, that's a great answer!
    My only problem now is that I began as a student using only Flash CC,
    so I don't have the CS6 version to get the files from. Is there a way to do that here on Adobe's site?
    I wonder why they removed them in the first place? I mean, I want to create my own elements, but sometimes
    it's useful to be able to use pre-made elements since I'm just starting out learning the program.

  • Using ActiveX to access DirectDraw - where are the Type libraries?

    Hi all. I am trying to poll the monitor to find out when information is written to the screen for a psychophysics exeriment. I have seen the discussion at:
    http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/Implenting-WaitForVerticalBlank/m-p/432112?query.id=74374#M212084
    but I am using Labview 9 with 64bit Windows 7, and don't know how to specify the DirectDraw libraries to an automation refnum on the front panel. The previous posts indicated you need to select DIRECTLib.I_dxj_DirectDraw, but I can't see it. I tried browsing and pointing to DDraw.dll in the system files, but the reference created when I wired it to the Automation Open subVI was not recognised by the invoke_node subVI.
    Does anybody know where to look for the relevant files with Labview 9?
    thanks for any help
    tim

    Please note the 64 bit Windows reference!!
    I'm not sure about the state of Direct-anything in post Windows XP but I have some doubts that it is still the prefered/recommended way to access those interfaces. As such the DLLs to support these interfaces may not all have been ported to Windows 7 and especially 64 bit. Being an API that sits in fact very close to the hardware, it is both a major hassle to port such libraries as well as likely a requirement to have native libraries in the system to even have a remote chance for them to work.
    To go down this path you will certainly have to dig into the state of DirectX on modern OS, and especially their 64 bit variants. The DLLs from 2005 you found on some site (I would really very much hesitate to put DLLs from such sites on my computer in any way) certainly won't be adaptable to your 64 Bit Windows system, and most likely won't work for anything Vista or newer either. DirectX was way to close to hardware to have much chance of staying operational when moving DLLs to other Windows versions than what they were designed for.
