Where are my iWeb archives

Where can I find my iWeb archives stored?

It depends on what you want to add or change.
Can't remember the last time I edited published iWeb pages*.
Magic word : DOM
* Well, it was today. See the topic about the Facebook Share code.
Forgot which domain file had the original webpage.
So duplicated the published web page, added a second widget markup file and change the code in the webpage.
All done on my iPad with iFiles at eight in the morning. That's what you do when you wake up : Check this forum.

  • Where are the iWeb file(s?) saved?

    Hi,
When I'm working on a site and then press cmd+S (File>Save), where are the iWeb file(s?) saved?
I'm looking for those files which I need to backup in case my harddisk would crash some day...
    Thanks!

They're in ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb/, where ~ is the item in the Finder's sidebar with the house icon.

  • Where are my iWeb files located? My Domain folder is empty but the pages still open in iWeb.

I have a Macbook Pro OSX 10.6.8. iWeb opens all my pages and the website is fine.  When I look for the page files so that i can edit them in Text Edit I cannot find them.
I have searched EVERY file folder etc. on my computer including the Domain folder which shows empty.
So my question is - Where are they and how do I access them?

Download and use  Find Any File  to search for ".sites".  FAF can search areas that Spotlight can't and if you have a second domain file on your HD FAF will find it.
If you want to access the HTML files of your website then you need to publish your website to a folder on your hard drive.  With iWeb 2 that's done with the File ➙ Publish to a Folder menu option.
With iWeb 3 that's done by clicking on the site folder in iWeb and selecting the folder you want to publish toi:

  • Where are my iWeb photos?

I had photos in iWeb and gallery , where did they go, I did agree to go with iCloud, but I don't see where the photos with the mobile me links were sent.
    Thanks

    What happened to MobileMe Gallery?
Galleries published to MobileMe are no longer available. However, for a limited time, you can still save copies of all photos and movies published to your gallery. If you have a Mac, it is likely that most of your gallery photos are already in iPhoto. If not, you can sync your gallery photos to your iPhoto library. You can also download your photos and movies directly from the web. Please read this article for details.
iCloud does NOT allow you to host your web sites. You can continue to use iWeb but, will need a 3rd party web host to upload your websites to. Depending on the version of iWeb you are using you have a couple of publishing options:
iWeb '09 (3.0.4) you can publish to an FTP Server or a local folder. ( With the built in FTP in iWeb you will end up with an address like "www.YourDomain.com/sitename/Home.html )
iWeb '08 you can publish your website to a local folder
I have been using IX Webhosting for several years with little to no problems "usually the problem was something I did" and they have been quick to solve any issue I have come across. The have plans that start at $3.95 a mo (USD) and their customer service is top notch.

  • Where are the iWeb files held in relation to your Web Site?

Having had various problems with my computer I have had to reformat hard drive 1 and rebuild all the apps. Hopefully I still have all my data on another drive that I can bring in to some of the apps.
So I had to reload iWeb and of course the website I previously created is not seen y the new version.
Q1. - Where would all the files relating to the Web site have been stored (hopefully I can copy them back to the main drive)
Q2. If I can't find them, is there any way of reconstructing the website on my computer from the copy published to Mobile Me?
    Thanks
    Douglas

I guess you want to keep your domain file on a separate drive.
As you probably know the application stores your website data in a domain file. The default location is Home Folder/Library/Application Support/iWeb.
Its essential the you keep and up to date backup of this file.
Create a folder and paste a copy of your domain file(s) into it. Put a copy of this folder into your Home folder and also onto an external drive. Store it anywhere you want.
Instead of launching iWeb from the application, go to the folder on the external drive and double click the domain file.
This will launch iWeb and, when you save and quit, the changes will be reflected in the domain file in the folder and not the one in the default location.

  • Where are the iWeb site pages kept?

If I want to move my files over to a new Mac, where can I find the iWeb site pages? Is it packaged inside the iWeb icon?

iWeb can't import your published files back again. You have to rebuild them from scratch, although of course you can copy/paste whatever you want from your published pages.

  • Where are iWeb files

I have make a some files in iweb.
Now I will move them to my other computer, so I can work with them in the other.. But I cant found the file, outside iweb.
    Where are they
    Christer

Christer ~ iWeb stores everything in a Domain file, normally located in the ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder (although it can be moved).
    Also read NOTE 1 here:

  • When I select files to archive, they move from my file folder, but then I go to the archive folder and it says Empty? Where are those files?

Your account names are probably different on the two Macs. If you know the UNIX command line, open a terminal window and run:
    $ id
You should see a line that starts with something like this:
    uid=501(your_user_id_here)
now check the owner of the folder you copied over:
    $ ls -ld Music
    drwx------+ 8 some_user_id_here  staff  272 May 14 16:08 Music
Do the IDs match? If not, you could change the ownership. Say your id is "johnsmith"
    $ chown -R johnsmith Music
Now try and access it with iTunes.

  • Where Are The Master Files Stored For iWeb?

I can't seem to figure out where the master files are stored in iWeb. For example I was trying to help of friend with his iWeb website, so I told him to send the files - and then I was planning to load them into iWeb on my computer... but I couldn't figure out where to put them... and he did not know where they were either!

  • Where are my photos saved, how to archive photos

    Hello,
currently I had imported photos from a camera to my MAC by using iPhoto import and event functionality. Now I would like to backup my photos by using rsync. But I can not find my photos as files on the disk.
    Where are my photos saved?
I am a new MAC user with some expirience in Unix qnd Linux.
    Thank you in advance
    Bernhard

    Most Simple Back Up:
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
Slightly more complex: Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically.
Example of such apps: Chronosync - but there are many others. Search on MacUpdate or the App Store

  • (261936172) Q general Where are the Web Service source files?

Q <general> Where are the source files for a Web Service created
with WebLogic Workshop stored? How do I deploy the Web Service
on a different WebLogic Server? Is there a way to bundle the
Web Service project files manually to distribute them?
Is there a way to configure the directory where Workshop stores
    the files?
ANSWER: (by Adam Fitzgerald, [email protected]) The .jws files are stored
in the project folder. This can be located on a local system, although by default
they are in c:\bea\wlserver700b\sample\workshop\applications. The Web Service
structure is understood by WLS 7.0 so by archiving the appropriate folder you
can transfer the Web Service in its entirety from one deployment to another.

  • I upgraded my iPhone 4 from iOS 3.3.5 to iOS 5.0 and lost all my photos on the camera roll. Where are they and can I  retrieve them?

I upgraded my iOS 3.3.5 to 5.0 on my iPhone 4 and lost all photos on camera roll. Where are they and can they be recovered?

Have you been using your phone as recommended?  If so, you've been importing photos in your camera roll onto your computer for safe keeping.  Just as you would with a standalone digital camera.  Your photos would then reside safely on your computer for archival.
While camera roll photos ARE part of the backup, not everything always goes smoothly as you've seen, which is why the recommendation to import photos as soon as possible to your computer.
If you have a recent backup of your iPhone, you can restore and hopefully many of your photos will be on this backup.  Any photos or data added to your phone since this last backup are, of course, gone forever.

  • Where are the Theme Images

    Hi,
I am using the Watercolour these at the moment, but want to change the colours of the images - is there an easy way to do this?
Where are the image files located?
    Thanks
    Rich

The theme packages are located in the application itself: iWeb/Contents/Resources/Themes folder. You'd have to open that particular package and see if you can modify the colors. I would make a backup copy of your iWeb application just in case.

  • Where are download files

I have a new computer running Windows 7. I am using Firefox 6.0.2. The options window shows that Downloads are being saved to a folder called Downloads which has a path "Desktop/[MyName]/Downloads." When I open that path none of the files I have recently downloaded appear. Yet when I click "Ctl-J" they all show up. Where are the downloaded files?

CM12 uses the Content Library to store content. During the installation of the DP role, a drive was specified (or auto was selected). Check the root of the drives for a folder called 'SCCMContentLib'. In here you'll find 3 sub folders that hold the content
and metadata, etc (DataLib, FileLib, PkgLib). You cannot find the files by their regular name as CM renames them to avoid file duplication (single file storage).
There are several blogs that explain how the new content library works... Here's a couple:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/configmgrteam/archive/2013/10/29/understanding-the-configuration-manager-content-library.aspx
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/configmgrdogs/archive/2012/04/16/configmgr-2012-content-library-overview.aspx
The ccmcache folder is for the client agent portion (not the DP role). When a deployment is received by the client, it eventually downloads the content if required...
