Where are my old apps? Not on new phone.
I tried transferring my 4s to my 5s with icloud and didn't move 90% of my apps. I tried it again backing up to the computer from 4s then restoring from computer to 5s, again 90% are missing, only the same few apps moved over besides the new ones that came with 5s. Now if I look at either phone in itunes, all my apps are pictured on the right side (under apps) but nothing is listed on the left side where they all used to be listed. Same with the 5s, the few apps are listed on the right side but there is nothing listed under Apps on the left side.
Where are all the apps I bought--practically all where bought from the Apple app store. How can I get them and put them on my 5s? Is it because they aren't 64bit? I thought the 5s could handle both. I really need these apps.
Help!
Thanks Steve for that quick response! From other unrelated comments I've read, Apple never helps with password problems, always says, "We don't keep your passwords, so there's no way we can help you with passwords." But since this is actually more related to PURCHASED-apps not appearing in iTunes, then maybe they would have a more helpful attitude regarding that.
However, the joke is on me, as I think I was taking gail-from-maine's sentence too literally where she wrote, "
Sign into iTunes with the Apple ID that you purchased the apps with." She probably meant different family members might have different IDs/different phones, so make sure you're using the correct one for whichever phone.
Because I went ahead & used my CURRENT ID/PIN, & followed her directions so far, & yes, whew!, there are 222 apps showing in iTunes. However, they ALL show the little cloud on them, which gail said means they are NOT on the Mac. But they ARE on the Mac, under User > Music > iTunes > Mobile Applications. So I'm cornfused.
I also notice that some of the apps (in the long list under Mobile Applications/Mac) show a "Creation Date" of 12/31/69 (!!) so I don't know how/why it says that as my clock/time/date is correct/current. Might that be causing a problem? There appears to be no way to change that "Creation Date" in "Get Info."
Another question, what happened to the way you could move/re-arrange the location of the apps in iTunes according to screen/pages on the phone? (with OSX Lion & iTunes 11.1.5, it simply shows all the apps in iTunes in 27 rows of 8 apps each row, but I see no way -- YET -- to rearrange them by different phone-screens/locations, the way it used to show them in older iTunes & you could move them around to where you wanted them to show up on your phone).
FWIW, I did try doing as gail-from-maine said, "Click on them [in iTunes] to download them [the ones with the clouds on them] to the Mac," (in the lower right of the iTunes page, it has the option/button to "Download ALL"), but it didn't do anything, just a quick blink like flutter/action on iTunes page & no indication that anything was downloading.
I'd rather have the copies that are already on the Mac under Mobile Applications put on the phone, since they are the ones with CONTENT in them through the last backup, right? (I don't even know if the 222 apps showing in iTunes actually have any CONTENT in them???)
As you can tell, I'm not an experienced iTunes user, never cared for that software much.

Is there any other option to install old apps on a new phone then restoring?
Hello there,
I need to get my old apps from my 3g (which I have backuped manually) in to my new 4s.
I tried to restore the Phone but since I did not synced the apps they were gone after the session.
Everyone talks about restoring the phone from an iTunes backup but that did not work as I described.
Any Ideas?
Thanks,
ShahinI did something stupid. I forgot, that the iPhones “home” is another system partition . So when I start my old 10.6 the apps are there and I'm able to install them. I'm doing it right now.
Sorry for bothering
P.S. Now I'm in that club -
How do I install my old apps on my new phone?
I had to restore my iPhone 5, and I deleted all content and settings. I sat it up as a new iPhone. When I plugged into iTunes it only had ~5 of my ~70 apps that I've downloaded over time. I logged into the iTunes store and can see all of my past app purchases, but when I click the little iCloud "download" button, it says it's downloading the app to my MacBook. I can't figure out how to then, first of all, find the app on my Mac, and secondly I dunno how to put it on my phone.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm operating with iOS 6.0.2, iTunes 11.0.2, and a MacBook Pro 10,2.
Thank you!!Click here and see the section of the article which explains how to do it on iOS devices.

Guys i have a problem, I used to download apps from one of my friends apple id, now i created my new account, but when i was about to update my apps its asks for my friends id and password. now how could i update my old apps from my new apple id?
The_Tonmoy wrote:
I have no communication with my that friend :/ So it means i need to delete those apps? There's no other solution to update those apps?
No. purchases are forever tied to the apple ID used to buy them. Delete them and buy your own copies. -
Is it possible for deleting all the apps from the appstore which are showing up in the apps not on my phone section. Before I was able to delete them from itunes but now I am not able to find that option.
You can hide them via your computer's iTunes : iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases - Apple Support
The 'x' might not show on their top left corner (it might be invisible), but clicking where it should be should hide the app. -
About two years ago I bought an Ipod (4), recently I bought an Iphone 4S. I just want to transfer some songs from my old ipod to my new phone and I am not being capable to find a way in Itunes!! Any help???
Just transfer them from iTunes.
If they are not in iTunes. connect the iPod, then File > Devices > Transfer purchases.
Then connect the iPhone and sync these songs. -
Where are all the Apps Stored?
Where are all the apps I have purchased from the app store stored, on my PC? They do not appear in the Itunes folder where all the TV programs and music are.
They are in a subfolder named Mobile Applications. It will be a subfolder wherever you are running your itunes library database ITL file from.
On XP, the default path for that is
C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\
(this is where the default ITL file is stored)
So your apps would be in this folder
C:\Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\Mobile Applications -
I was using a different itune id and now a new one but when i want to update the old app its always asking for my old app id.
Is there a way to change my old app to my new id so that i dont have to use my old id?There is no other way you can do now. Actually, you don't need to create a new Apple ID account, you can change the Apple ID from old email account to other email accout easily by all the steps below.
1, Open iTunes > iTunes Store > log in old Apple ID > Click on your apple ID on the right hand side on top > choose account > Apple ID > Edit
As long as you only change your Apple ID, then all the old apps are still under your new email account as well as you can keep downloading new apps. -
Don't bother trying to get Airplay to work even if you have all the latest updates etc..if your computer is a MacBook Pro 2008 or earlier..The Apple staff have decided they are too old and not worth supporting...
AirPlay Mirroring requires a second-generation Apple TV or later, OS X 10.8 or better and is supported on the following Mac models: iMac (Mid 2011 or newer), Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer), MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer), and MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer). It also requires the computer to be using wi-fi.
Patrick is either mistaken or describing basic airplay and not mirroring. -
I recently upgraded from 4S to 5S. There are 2 games that I wish to transfer to the new device. 1st game isn't available in the Store anymore, so can't download. 2nd game doesn't save when you change devices. How do I get those 2 apps to my new phone? Can I do that manually through iTunes?
