Where are my styles applied?

Hi there,
Is it possible to write a script that will identify where a specific style is used throughout a document?
I've inherited a large project with about 1500 pages and I'd like to clean up the styles used throughout. By the looks of it, there are duplicate styles used in many of the individual files that make my book. I'd like to find those and consolidate the many styles stored in each file to just unique and used styles.
The "list unused styles" feature is a great help with this but I'd like to go to the next level with this effort.
Thanks,
Pete H.

Hello Pete,
here you can find a script from Marc Autret ... and a similar approach from me.

  • Where are ecm_sel parameters applied in CS_BOM_EXPL_MAT_V2  ????

    If you run RCS11001 deirectly or from CS11, then if your matnr has kzeff "on" in mara, SAP will pop the "parameter effectivity" panel to allow you to enter effectivity parameters as a fillter on the BOM explosion.
    This panel is popped by the function ecm_processor_init and the parameter values that you enter are stored in an itab named "ecm_sel" (the function returns this itab in the tables parameter "output parameter".
    Right after RCS11001 calls ecm_processor_init (via the form ecm_proc_init), RCS11001 calls cs_bom_expl_mat_v2, which then calls cs_bom_explosion.
    I have spent the whole afternoon looking for where cs_bom_expl_mat_v2 or cs_bom_explosition uses the parameters in ecm_sel to filter the explosion, but I can't see where this done.
    Can someone point me to where the parameters in ecm_sel are actually applied in cs_bom_expl_mat_v2 or cs_bom_explosion?

    Never mind - it has to do with the itab "itab_parameter" that FM ecm_proc_init sticks in the global itabs of function group CCPR so that FM ecm_proc_check can read it later when ecm_proc_check is called during function cs_bom_explostion.
    The ecm_sel itab is just for the "display selection criiteria" buttom of the actual CS11 display alv.

  • Where are Layer Styles

    I am working on a project in AE7. I want to apply Layer Styles to a layer, but when I go to Layers on the top manu, the layer styles option is not there.
    any ideas?

    Yes. You are using AE7. Editable PS layer styles were only introduced in CS3.

  • Where are custom styles saved on my computer?

    Hi,
    I need to create a cd with all the customizations I have made to a template (object, table, cell, paragraph, and character styles).  I can't seem to find them, however.
    In CS4 I found them here:
    Computer > Local Disk (C:) > Program Files > Adobe > Adobe InDesign CS5 > Presets > Styles,
    but not in CS5.
    Perhaps it's a permission or hidden file issue...?
    Thanks!

    Yes - I am preparing a toolkit for other users of ID who have no experience - several users in different locations. I'd like to be able to hand them a cd with everything on it that they need.
    This was very simple in CS4...

  • My table of contents does not use the entry style I select for words in the paragraph that have character styles applied to them in the chapter, so some of the letters are showing up as green, which is fine in the chapter but not in the TOC.

    My table of contents does not use the entry style I select for words in the paragraph that have character styles applied to them in the chapter, so some of the letters, specifically parameters, are showing up green, which is fine in the chapter but not in the TOC. I can manually fix this in the TOC by changing the character style to none after the toc  has been generated, but I don't want to do this.

    What application are you running? Please ask this in the forum of the product you're using.

  • Where are my trade in shipping materials? Applied on 10/2/14.

    Where are my trade in shipping materials? Applied for the trade-in and ordered new iPhone 6 on 10/2.  Received confirmation e-mails for both.  Received new iPhone 6 on 10/8.  Tried calling 1-800 number, due to "increased customer demand" can't reach a human, tried submitting request for re-submission of shipping materials, received standard e-mail response that due to "increased demand" it would take 14 days to receive shipping supplies.  It has now been 18 days and I have no acknowledgment/confirmation from Verizon that my shipping materials are actually on their way.  Verizon, please give me a confirmation that MY shipping materials are on their way and when I can receive them, and NOT just a template response!

    RaySJ I've been reading of quite a few people having this same problem on here.  Have you tried calling a VZW Corporate store in your area to see if maybe they'll take it in for you and just issue the credit.  $200 is a lot of money to see go away because of VZW not getting the shipping materials in a timely manner.  I'd try calling a corporate store to see if they can help...some people have posted on here that they've had some success doing that when their materials didn't show up.  Let us know if you try this method and if it works out for you as it'll be a bit more encouragement for others to do the same rather than waiting...

  • How can I see where Paragraph / Character Styles are used?

    I am editing a 40-page document and have many Paragraph styles. I have already deleted unused paragraph styles and now would like to see where are the remaining styles used to edit the text directly. IS there a way to see it? (InDesign CS4 or CS5)
    Thanks,
    Marina

    Save two copies of the file.
    Close the original file. In a saved copy, [EDIT] use the paragraph style panel to [/EDIT] change the text color of every paragraph style to a new color whose swatch you name for the paragraph style. For example, Head1 paragraph style's text color becomes your newly-made swatch Head1color.
    Every paragraph in the document will appear in the color you assigned. This should give you a picture of which paragraphs are which style.
    Save the colored version of the file if you want to keep it.

  • Authoring Tool - Where are the updated MPs for the Library After Applying Update Roll Ups

    All,
    Fairly recently, I took a client to SCSM 2012 R2 UR3. Today I dropped by to do some work for them on custom MPs, and when I attempted to open them with the SCSM 2012 R2 Authoring tool, I could not, because the 7.5.3079.148 MPs (UR3 version) are not in the
    library. I have searched high and low to locate these MP files to drop them into the library, but I am coming up empty handed. Where are the .MP files? I am aware that we can just directly alter the referenced MP version number in the MP itself, but I want
    to know where do we actually find these correctly versioned files for the authoring tool.
    Thanks,

    Hey Everyone,
    I have heard back a few times from MS, but with nothing substantially helpful other than they created a bug for it. Today they called again and said this is listed with a low priority, because not enough people are complaining about it, which has a several-months
    time frame for resolution. He asked me to submit Connect Feedback and get people to Upvote it and state that they can reproduce the problem. So, I went out there, found one connect request already submitted (By Thomas Bianco above) and attached to the bug,
    and I Upvoted and clicked the Repros link on it. Here is the link below, so please get out there and and Upvote and click the Repros link.

    Hi, I have used printDataGrid for printing my data. I have applied css style for the print datagrid. style applied for this printDataGrid is given below.
            mx|PrintDataGrid.printing {
                headerColors: #D8DCDD, #F1F2F2;
                color: #000000;
                alternatingItemColors: #D2D3D4, #F1F2F2;
    Use of mx:PrintDataGrid  in my application:
    <mx:PrintDataGrid id="ddDataGrid" width="99%" height="100%" styleName="printing" sizeToPage="true"/>
    But in the print document not able get alternatingItemColors for the printed datagrid.

    Hi Bernd Alheit,
              Thank you for your reply.
              I have wrongly selected this Form Location and I have realized it after posting it.

  • Where are bg color / bg image in CS 5.5?

    Where are bg color / bg image in CS 5.5? They don't appear in the properties panel when a table is selected. Thanks.

    The background color and background image attributes of the table tag have been deprecated by the W3C and should no longer be used to specify those two things. As a result, they have (rightly) been removed from the table Property inspector). Instead, you are expected to use CSS to apply these two styles to the table in question, e.g.,
    table#thisOne { background-color:#FF6633; background-image:url(path/to/image.jpg); }
    which will style this table -
    <table id="thisOne">...</table>
    with a color and a background image.

  • Creating a new chart in PowerPoint 2013 with Chart Styles applied

    In PowerPoint 2013 when I manually insert a new chart into a slide, the chart automatically has the Chart Style "Style 1" applied. This has the effect of setting the font sizes of chart labels to 12.
    However, no Chart Styles are applied if I try to add a new chart to PowerPoint 2013 using the following C# code:
    var ppt = new Microsoft.Office.Interop.PowerPoint.Application();
    var presentation = ppt.Presentations.Add();
    var layout = Microsoft.Office.Interop.PowerPoint.PpSlideLayout.ppLayoutChart;
    var slide = presentation.Slides.Add(1, layout);
    var shapes = slide.Shapes;
    shapes.AddChart();
    Font sizes seem to default to 18. Is there any way to create a chart or to set Chart Styles using Interop so that it matches a chart produced manually (i.e. has Chart Styles applied)?
    I am aware of the Chart.ChartStyle property but it only seems to change chart colors and legend placement, not font size. There is no Macro recorder in PowerPoint, so I can't generate VBA code to replicate the action of creating a new chart.

    You can add using shapes.AddChart2() instead of the last sentence shapes.AddChart(), I have tested in my projects, if I using AddChart(), the label size and the space will be different from manually insert a chart into a slide, but AddChart2() is the same
    with manually operating.
    And This object, member, or enumeration is deprecated and is not intended to be used in your code.
    More details you cab refer to the following link

  • Where are Print Presets in Photoshop (CC 2014)?

    Where are print presets in Photoshop?  (I'm using CC 2014 but the question applies to earlier versions as well.)
    I don't see them anywhere.
    Illustrator has had them for an eternity -- where you can set paper size, printer type, color settings, magnification, etc.
    Where is the same functionality for Photoshop?  And if it doesn't exist -- why not? It makes no sense.

    Yes they are different apps -- one does raster, one does vector - but they share the need to allowing printing from time to time, and there's no reason why the printing interface should be radically different.
    Unquestionably, Print Presets would be very useful in Photoshop.
    I know where all the settings are -- I want to have a preset so I don't have to keep setting the color management and magnification and everything else each time I want to output to a particular printer.

  • Where are my important files located in Leopard 10.5?

    I had an old file from apple titled "Where are my important files located?" which applied to 10.3. I could not find this same doc for 10.5. It had the location of all the important files for safari, mail, address book, etc. and was handy when I was mirgrating files or backing up or so forth. Is there now an updated file/doc for this with regards to 10.5 Leopard? Or is every important file's location still located in the same location? Thanks

    Hi Teal,
    I'm a big "foggy" on a lot of the OS X 10.3 "Panther" stuff but I think you'll find OS X 10.5 to be pretty similar in most regards.
    As far as your user information, everything related to your user will be in the /Users/username location. The "Library" folder is probably the most important when it comes to application related data such as Safari, Mail, Address Book, iCal, etc. Some applications will have a folder directly inside the library folder (/Users/Username/Library/ApplicationName) and some will store data in the Application Support folder (/Users/Username/Library/Application Support/ApplicationName)
    The important thing, is that all of your user data is stored in the /Users/Username location that will often be represented by a "House" icon when signed into that user.
    Where it gets a little tricky, is some applications will store data in the /Users/Shared location and the /Library location. So if you ever do a total system migration there's a possibility you'll need to reinstall some applications. A Time Machine backup can assist with system migrations as it does a full and complete backup of your HD, including the User's home folder.
