Where are my visit cards gone?

Morning.
After installing Mac OS X 10.6 in Addressbook.app none of my 1'417 contacts is displayed, but zero contacts is written in the bottom of the window. I've tried to restore my Addressbook data from yesterdays TimeMachine backup. But it won't work. I can not travel in the past.
What's wrong? What can I do to get access to my contacts data?

Did you change the name of your hard drive when you installed Snow Leopard.
If you did then change it back and you should then see your Time Machine backups.

Help! When I open Lightroom 4 , all my files are gone. It is exactly the way it was when I received it: empty. Nothing. Where are all my files gone?

Hmmm. Relaunch iPhoto holding the option key, see if you have an alternate Library available here.
You can restore through Time Machine, or a boot clone.
http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/ iPhoto manager is a tried and true software for corrupt iphoto libraries.

Where are the Quicktime Transitions gone?

I miss the basic Quicktime Transitions like Push, Radial or Whipe. Does someone know if this effects are still aviable somewhere?

Where are all the preferences gone ?

OsX 10.10. Yosemite. In the Library folder there is no more com.apple.Safari.plist. Noting regarding Safari plist in the pref. folder. Nor there is a plist for Imovie, Iphoto, Aperture.

Where are all my bits gone?

I am wondering what is happening to the movie projects that I create. Normally when I used to create projects they went to a folder, which when I opened it, I could see files including a quick time movie in the folder. Now when I create a project all I get the single project icon with the star. Any ideas about this

What you say is what I get now! The reason I asked was that a friend of mine required that I make a DVD that would auto play in a DVD player in a bus that he drives. It had to start as the bus started up and also loop. I found out that to do this I first had to create the iMovie project , save it and close it down. Then open iDVD and create a new project. Then open up the map view and drag the quicktime file from the iMovie project to the window. This worked great for me. Now I have to save the iMovie project as a .DV file and drag this in. It also works fine but I wondered why this has changed.

Where are the older BIOS versions gone?

A few weeks back, I've upgraded the BIOS on my Pavilion G6 1001sq to the latest version (F66). I noticed that the laptop is running considearbly hotter since then and I want to revert to an older BIOS version. When I go to the updates page on the HP website and click on "older versions available" I can only see the F66 version on the page I'm directed to ( http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/previousVersions?softwareitem=ob-115746-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&os=4... ), although a long list with many versions was available till recently. Where are the older versions gone?

Unfortunately, I do not know where they have gone. HP is working on issues with the suport and driver servers at the moment.
Since your notebook does have the UEFI Diagnostics installed, you should be able to rollback to the previous version that was installed. Use the firmware management option to do that.

Were the VISA and MasterCard issued to you by a bank in the country where you reside and do they have a verifiable billing address in the same country?
Or are these debit cards that you bought in a local store. Apple does not accept debit cards that you bought.

Either because you're trying to buy some sort of gift, or the iTunes Store servers are checking the validity of your account and won't charge the card, or there's a problem at Apple's end.

If you didn't configure Windows Phone backup option or use VZW Backup Assistant then all is lost.
If you did go with Windows Phone native backup and you use an Outlook account you should find your photos and videos on OneDrive. I'm not sure how much VZW Backup Assistant backs up but you would need to start a restore from that software and see what's preserved.
With any OS installs/updates a backup is always best to first.

The application auto-saves your input when you close the document. If you left the document, as you state, the notes/comments should have been saved and should have been visible the next time you opened the document with the Mobile Reader (note that if you are opening the document with another app such as Apple's built in PDF Viewer, things like notes/comments may not be visible). Also note that if you are doing an Open In... from another app (like Dropbox), the version of the document in Dropbox does not update; only the version of the document in the Mobile Reader is updated.
