Where are network settings stored?

I want to copy (migrate) the network settings (I have various locations) from my MBP to my wife's MBP after the HDD had been replaced. Does anybody now where this locations and its settings are stored? Would save me quite some time.

You can also export your settings from System preferences > Network, at the bottom of the window press the little wheel and choose export
This I also found but this "Export Configurations" is greyed out for all but Bluetooth settings. i searched the forums and that seems to be consistent.

  • Where (in the filesystem) are network settings stored?

    Hello,
i did a clean install of mavericks, and want to import the network settings from an older backup i did (have both: 10.8 full backup and 10.9 library folder backup) into the new system; unfortunately i don't know where they are stored, and can't seem to find any information on this issue!
I searched all of the preferences and application support folders, but no success.
does anyone know more about this?
    thanks & kind regards

ah, thanks! i read about "SystemConfiguration" before, but didn't find it - i searched in the user's library folder, but it's the "global" library folder. only have the user library backup with me now, but will check later when i get home. thanks!

  • Where are Optimizer settings stored?

I need to deploy PDF Optimizer settings throughout my organization, like I did with joboptions.
So far I have been unsuccessful in searching for a file with the name into which I saved my optimizer settings.
Where are the optimizer settings stored?  I would hate to have to set these all manually for everyone.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi All,
Thanks for the info.  I think this is what I need, but I opened the Javascript console and pasted in the code and nothing happened.

What else do I need to do to make the Console recognize and respond that line of code?

Where are the http proxy settings stored for JRE 6? I am trying to figure out how to centrally manage these settings for a large number of computers. I have heard about the deployment.properties file, however changing this file is not changing my proxy settings.
    Thanks for you help.

  • Where are toolbar settings stored in Acrobat 9?

We recently deployed Acrobat 9 firmwide and now realize that the "rotate clockwise" and "rotate counterclockwise" buttons do not appear on the Page Display Toolbar by default.  This is causing our users some trouble as they are used to just clicking a button to rotate images.  I have been unable to find where this particular setting is stored in the registry; our hope is to use Group Policy to add these buttons to everyone's toolbar.  We do not want to re-deploy this application.  Can anyone help me out?  Much thanks in advance!

Thanks, Steve. Actually, the ones I needed--my custom settings--were stored in a similar path: [username]>Library>Application Support>Adobe>Adobe PDF>Settings. What's interesting is that if you do a search for ".joboptions", none of these are found. Curious!
I'll make a note of this path.

  • Where are the settings stored?

I have messages that have the color set on them for organizational purposes. I want to copy these settings to another MAC. Where is this information located?
(The rules I have copied... I want the INBOX to show the same coloring on the other MAC.)
    Thanks!

This is an IMAP account by the way... So you think that when I mark a message RED for example, that this information is stored in the general MAIL preference file? I would have expected to find it somewhere in the /users/Library/Mail folder, as it relates to a specific message. The RULES I have been able to move just fine... it's just that when I COLOR a message on one computer I want that color to show up on the other computer as well... Does this make any sence at all?
(Using .mac to sync results in the same problem. The rules are synced, but the modifaication I made to the individual IMAP message does not sync. Flag, Color, etc.)

  • Where are VPN Settings Stored in Mavericks?

    So, the short version is;
Anyone know where all the VPN settings are stored in Mavericks; and can I just use ARD to copy that file from one machine to another?
    Longer version is:
I've been a user of DeployStudio for years and years for all my Imaging needs, it's worked great in general.
But Mavericks, and these new MacBook Pro's (11,2) models are giving me stress....
I have the latest build of DeployStudio, and it works, I can Netboot with multiple models, (iMAcs, Mac Mini's, Air's, Macbook Pro)
    Build number 1.6.4-NB140206
The issue i'm having is builds seem to create fine, but when I put the build on the new Macbook Pro's (11,2) Models. the VPN Configurations are not being read. The Imaged machines show VPN as "Not Configured"..
I've tried re-building my base machine multiple times, the Configurations are postively there when I create my build. The configurations are still there after I create an image of the machine.
But when I put the build onto another (11,2) Model the VPN settings disappear.
I'm wondering if there is a configuration file that holds the settings. I have tried exporting the VPN entries, and re-importing them on the new machine, but when I import them, the come in as LT2 IPSEC, instead of the proper Cisco (IPSEC). So i'm getting stuck.
    Thanks.

I think i resolved it. I put the "By Hosts" folder in my User Template, and i think that's what was messing up the VPN and Keychain on my builds..

  • Where are monitor settings stored beside krandrrc

    Hi.
I would like to ask for help. Recently i've found interesting issue regarding KDE monitor system settings. KDE system settings make one config file in ~/.kde4/share/config named krandrrc. When we use KDE monitor system settings, configurations are stored in file krandrrc (information like resolution, refresh rate, orientation when there are 2 LCD displays connected and so on are stored here).
I have dual monitor setup. I found this issue because of what i do by an mistake. I chosed to disable my second screen, hit save - i wanted to disable it. Than by mistake i disabled my first, primary screen and this choos was saved right on the spot (i though that when i won't acept settings, they will be restored, just like in Windows, but there were not). So, in fact, i ended with second screen disabled and my first screen disabled, so after each boot, i log in and than, my picture/screen goes off and my lcd monitor shuts itself off.
I tried to delete krandrrc file in ~/.kde4/share/config but it did not make a change. Is there a different config file for monitor settings in KDE? How i could restore it back? Is there a way? I restored it by a chance (i just logged in, hit alt+f2, tried to type "terminal", and than type xrandr --auto but this metod is a metod that needs luck because we can't see anything with disabled screen). I deleted also xorg.conf but in Arch, in fact, it is not needed because udev.  I tried to log into tty by hitting alt+f1, but in terminal typing xrandr --auto won't make difference, it says that it can't start X window session so it works only in gui.
Could somebody help? Maybe you have a fix for it?
    Thanks.

    Hi firekage,
I came across your post while trying to fix a similar issue on my laptop.  I don't have a krandrrc file.  However, I found that if I deleted the files in my ~/.kde4/share/apps/kscreen directory I was able to "start over" and configure my displays again.
    Hope that helps you out.

  • Where are custom settings stored?

    Hi,
I created a custom setting that I use for my youtube videos. I want to copy this setting so that I can back it up and use it on another computer.
Where is it located? I cannot seem to find it...
    Thanks

The custom compressor settings are located at
    /Users/YOURUSERNAME/Library/Application Support/Compressor
If you're going to transfer the Compressor settings between multiple systems I'd recommend creating the custom settings folder via the Compressor Settings pane, this will create a folder containing the custom settings that you've create and will allow you to easily drag and drop this folder onto other system.
    Hope this helps.

  • Where are the .joboptions stored on a Mac for InDesign CC?

Where are the .joboptions stored on a Mac for InDesign CC?
I put them in the usual directory:      /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PDF/Settings   .  .  . but they are not seen by InDesign CC.
. . . Photoshop, Illustrator, Distiller and Acrobat are seeing my custom profiles and any default profiles I removed are not there for those apps.
Even older versions of all these apps and InDesign 6 and 5 see my custom profiles.
But InDesign CC only shows the ones shown in the screen shot below:  (High Quality, the PDF/X versions[3], Press and Smallest size)
I know I can probably do a "Load" profile, but that's not the point and I need to remove the default profiles.
I'm in a multiple user environment and need to lock down the use of profiles to our companies select few.
Did a thorough search of the entire Mac and PDF/X- does not even show up.   Any suggestions?     Anyone?    I'm scratchin'  my head at this point.

      This was the correct answer:
Laubender     Jun 2, 2014 12:18 AM  (in response to Maurice Castelbuono)
@Maurizio – the standard settings, the joboption files with the brackets like [PDF/X-1a:2001] are stored inside the inDesign app for InDesign CC 9.2.1.
The path for these would be:
    /Applications/Adobe InDesign CC.app/Contents/MacOS/Resources/Adobe PDF/settings/mul
or with a Japanese version of InDesign:
    /Applications/Adobe InDesign CC.app/Contents/MacOS/Resources/Adobe PDF/settings/japan
If you do a right-click on the InDesign app you can show them with "Show Package Contents" options.
All other PDF joboptions that you are creating are relative to your current User Library. They are stored in:
    ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PDF/Settings
Where the tilde sign at the beginning indicates the home of the currently used user.
You can access ~/Library, if you press the alt key when accessing the "Go To" menu in the Finder. Otherwise it's invisible.

  • Where are the presettings stored exactly?

    Hi everyone
Where are the presettings stored exactly? They must be safed in some kind of *.ini-File, in the system's registry or at another point.
We need this information to automate the setup on every working station. Domain solutions as an alternative are unfortunately not possible yet.
    Adobe Distiller Version is 10.1.824
    Thank you.

The user-specific settings files (editable) are stored in
    %APPDATA%\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings
The defaults (read-only) are in Acrobat's program folder
    \Program Files(x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0\Acrobat\Settings

  • Where are the profiles stored for Profile Manager.

Where are the profiles stored for Profile Manager?
I created a profile attached to a user group and then made the mistake of removing the group without first deleting the profile.
Now the orphan profile can't be managed (it's no longer visible) and is still being pushed out to users.
The group I deleted had another group as it's members.
    Example:
Active Sync User Group was a member of VPN Group.
VPN Group was deleted (it had the VPN settings payload)
Profile with VPN settings are still pushed out to Active Sync User Group even though VPN Group no longer exists.
I'm hoping I can manually remove this profile but I'm thinking it may be contained in Postgres. If that's the case I would appreciate any suggestions/methods to access the database to make modifications.
    Thanks

The information/data for apps is stored together with the app in both the iPad and in the backup on your computer. When you drop a file in the file sharing section of apps it gets added to the backup and to the iPad. When you delete it it get deleted from the backup and from the iPad.

  • Where are printer drivers stored in OS 10.8?

I am trying to set up a Epson Stylus Photo R3000 as a new printer on OS 10.8. The printer setup locates the printer and automatically selects Epson Stylus R3000 with the notation "The selected printer software is available from Apple. Click Add to download and add this printer." However, clicking on Add leads eventually to an error message: "Can't install the software for the EPSON Epson Stylus Photo R3000 because it is not currently available fromthe Software Update server." This result blocks me from setting up the printer.
I know the driver is part of the Epson driver software package that is installed with OS 10.8. I would like to select it manually. My question is where are printer drivers stored? How do I select a driver?
    Thanks in advance!

While a bit of a stretch, you can download the entire Epson printer package from Apple and install it. This will include all drivers for all Epson devices as opposed to the one just for your system. The package is 1GB in size, but will include everything supported.
The package can be downloaded here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1398
This following knowledgebase article says your printer is definitely supported, so the driver should be in that package: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669#epson
