Where are my brushes stored? PC User
I've downloaded a bunch of brushes over the years to my PhotoShop. Now, where are they stored?? Running a search for .abr in my computer only finds the brushes that came with the program when I first bought it. I use a PC.
Thanks,
ConnieIf the brush sets are in photoshop cs5 (that is you can load them in cs5) then you might just save out the sets from cs5 to your desktop using the Edit>Preset Manager
and then you could use something like Acrobat.com or copy the sets to removable media (cd/dvd, flash drve, camera card etc) and
then copy them to your other computer.
You must have saved/downloaded the sets (brushes) to somewhere else on your computer besides the default locations in cs5.
There is another place they could be, but we need to know what version of windows your using.
One thing that you should be aware of is that not all the brushes will work in cs4 if the brushes use some settings in photoshop cs5 that photoshop cs4 doesn't have. -
Where are my pictures stored on the hard drive when I import them into Aperture?
I imported pictures into Aperature under the project name Christmas 2012. When I went into Finder to see where the pictures were actually placed on my hard disk, the folder didn't show up anywhere. These are new photos that I added to my hard drive.
I then thought I would do a file search on some of the photos. One picture's file name was IMG_2260. When I searched All My Files for this file, it produced two different photos with the exact same file name IMG_2260!
Now I'm really confused! Any help would be appreciated.. It just seems strange to me to not be able to find the actual photos with Finder.
The actual photos do not exist as image files, until you export them. The only images that do exist are the originals that you import into Aperture. When you adjust images, enhance them, crop them, Aperture will only store the command, but not actually create the edited version.
That has three advantages:
Aperture saves space, because only the original image is stored.
Aperture can easily undo any operation and you have a lossless workflow.
Many adjustments can be accumulated into one operation and done very precisely, because the image need not to be rendered to 8Bit or 16 Bit versions in between. Only the final version needs to be encoded as image file.
So, since the edited images do only exist in a state of limbo, you do not see them in the library as images.
Regards
Léonie

When you search for the originals with Spotlight or file search from the Finder, you may find the originals and previews of edited versions, that Aperture creates to share with the Media Browser. In addition to exporting the images, you can access them using the Media Browser from all applications that are compatible with iLife: Mail, Pages, Keynote, iWeb, ... -
Where are the pictures stored??
Ok so i am trying to LIKE iPHOTO, as i NEVER have before...One big problem i have is if I am trying to find the actual "file" on finder, I cannot....If i click on iPhoto library in the pictures folder, it launches the application???? I don't want to launch the application, I want to be able to have access to the file/pic separate from the application...
where is it?? How do i do this?? thanks..Hello - the link in this answer doesn't lead to a discussion (by which I understand something with input from different contributors) but to a download page called Aliashoarder. Is this what you intended or is the link wrong?
As a new Mac user, I'm having problems with coming to terms with iPhoto as well, so much so that if I'm trying to edit photos and send copies to other people, I frequently end up resorting in frustration to the ancient and outdated software that originally came with my digital camera - at least I know how to use that!
For instance, if a scan comes out upside down, I rotate it and it appears to be the right way up: there isn't any prompt asking you to save the new image, so you assume it's now OK - but when I attach the view to an email to send, it comes out upside down again! And if you put a scan into an album called, say "Yellow" and then try to put another scan into the same folder, it puts it into another separate folder, also called "Yellow"! So now I have 2 folders with identical names, each with a different picture in, when what I wanted was one folder containing them both.
Presumably there must be an explanation somewhere, in simple language, of how to use iPhoto properly - but where? Grateful for any help, thanks! -
Where are my pictures stored? I can't find the directory
Where is your iPhoto library? I can't find it
By default the Library is in your Pictures Folder. It's a Package - so it looks like a single file in the Finder.

Where are the .joboptions stored on a Mac for InDesign CC?
Where are the .joboptions stored on a Mac for InDesign CC?
I put them in the usual directory: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PDF/Settings . . . but they are not seen by InDesign CC.
. . . Photoshop, Illustrator, Distiller and Acrobat are seeing my custom profiles and any default profiles I removed are not there for those apps.
Even older versions of all these apps and InDesign 6 and 5 see my custom profiles.
But InDesign CC only shows the ones shown in the screen shot below: (High Quality, the PDF/X versions[3], Press and Smallest size)
I know I can probably do a "Load" profile, but that's not the point and I need to remove the default profiles.
I'm in a multiple user environment and need to lock down the use of profiles to our companies select few.
Did a thorough search of the entire Mac and PDF/X- does not even show up. Any suggestions? Anyone? I'm scratchin' my head at this point. This was the correct answer:
Laubender Jun 2, 2014 12:18 AM (in response to Maurice Castelbuono)
@Maurizio – the standard settings, the joboption files with the brackets like [PDF/X-1a:2001] are stored inside the inDesign app for InDesign CC 9.2.1.
The path for these would be:
/Applications/Adobe InDesign CC.app/Contents/MacOS/Resources/Adobe PDF/settings/mul
or with a Japanese version of InDesign:
/Applications/Adobe InDesign CC.app/Contents/MacOS/Resources/Adobe PDF/settings/japan
If you do a right-click on the InDesign app you can show them with "Show Package Contents" options.
All other PDF joboptions that you are creating are relative to your current User Library. They are stored in:
~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PDF/Settings
Where the tilde sign at the beginning indicates the home of the currently used user.
You can access ~/Library, if you press the alt key when accessing the "Go To" menu in the Finder. Otherwise it's invisible.

Where are the presettings stored exactly?
Hi everyone
Where are the presettings stored exactly? They must be safed in some kind of *.ini-File, in the system's registry or at another point.
We need this information to automate the setup on every working station. Domain solutions as an alternative are unfortunately not possible yet.
Adobe Distiller Version is 10.1.824
Thank you.The user-specific settings files (editable) are stored in
%APPDATA%\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings
The defaults (read-only) are in Acrobat's program folder
\Program Files(x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0\Acrobat\Settings -
Where are the profiles stored for Profile Manager.
Where are the profiles stored for Profile Manager?
I created a profile attached to a user group and then made the mistake of removing the group without first deleting the profile.
Now the orphan profile can't be managed (it's no longer visible) and is still being pushed out to users.
The group I deleted had another group as it's members.
Example:
Active Sync User Group was a member of VPN Group.
VPN Group was deleted (it had the VPN settings payload)
Profile with VPN settings are still pushed out to Active Sync User Group even though VPN Group no longer exists.
I'm hoping I can manually remove this profile but I'm thinking it may be contained in Postgres. If that's the case I would appreciate any suggestions/methods to access the database to make modifications.
ThanksThe information/data for apps is stored together with the app in both the iPad and in the backup on your computer. When you drop a file in the file sharing section of apps it gets added to the backup and to the iPad. When you delete it it get deleted from the backup and from the iPad.

Where are my ebooks stored in mavericks ibooks
where are my ebooks stored in mavericks ibooks
Why, oh why????
Why can't Apple allow us to select custom location for iBooks library, just as we do it with iTunes library???
I don't want to have 80+ GB of my iBook files moved from iTunes on the separate media volume back to the user folder on the system volume.
I created a symlink in default location and keep my Ibooks library on the media volume, but it is a temporary and not convenient fix. Every time I launch iBooks it tells me that it can't access library - only after I click on Try Again button it loads the library, but not a complete one, only books purchased through iTunes, it doesn't want to show the rest of my library that is in the same location (and was in iTunes library before). -
Where are printer drivers stored in OS 10.8?
I am trying to set up a Epson Stylus Photo R3000 as a new printer on OS 10.8. The printer setup locates the printer and automatically selects Epson Stylus R3000 with the notation "The selected printer software is available from Apple. Click Add to download and add this printer." However, clicking on Add leads eventually to an error message: "Can't install the software for the EPSON Epson Stylus Photo R3000 because it is not currently available fromthe Software Update server." This result blocks me from setting up the printer.
I know the driver is part of the Epson driver software package that is installed with OS 10.8. I would like to select it manually. My question is where are printer drivers stored? How do I select a driver?
Thanks in advance! While a bit of a stretch, you can download the entire Epson printer package from Apple and install it. This will include all drivers for all Epson devices as opposed to the one just for your system. The package is 1GB in size, but will include everything supported.
The package can be downloaded here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1398
This following knowledgebase article says your printer is definitely supported, so the driver should be in that package: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669#epson -
Where are the pictures found in the Adobe Photoshop 10 organizer?
Nov. 29, I had my computer repaired from a trojan, & I figured out that everything i've done since Sept. 13th was gone because when the computer guy was fixing it, he tried to put in the new MicroSD card reader, but he had to put an old one back in (from Sept.) as the new one had wrong connections.
Then, when he started the PC he only had the C drive (& my documents and pictures are on the A drive). He turned it off and realized he accidentally disconnected one of the mirror hard drives for Drive A. He had to turn it off and open it again and reconnect the cable that was disconnected.
During that moment perhaps a line in the drive had become corrupted. So, I restored through Carbonite, hoping I'd get back almost everything (or at least whatever was done being backed up). However, I lost quite a few pictures.
Tuesday, however, I noticed that the pictures I lost were imported into the organizer for Adobe Photoshop 10, which is on the C drive, so I'm hoping the pictures are still there, even if they are thumbnails (I assume they would be)! But where are the pictures found in the Adobe Photoshop 10 organizer? I assume in a folder somewhere? Am I able to copy them? (A low quality image, is better than no image!)The thumbnail cache is separate and lives in the system files.
You could try a new catalog - it doesn’t involve any duplication.
Click: File >> Catalog
Click the New button
Give your catalog a name e.g. My Catalog2 (or whatever you prefer)
Check the box Import Free Music - that will bring in the Adobe MP3 tracks used in slideshows
Then click OK
When the new blank catalog opens click: File >> Get Photos and Videos >> From Files & Folders
Navigate to your root folder (normally Pictures or My Pictures or wherever you put your photos) then press Ctrl+A to select all sub folders or make sure the checkbox is marked.
Click Open or Get Media
Wait for Elements to complete the import, accept all keyword suggestions (select all) and then wait for thumbnails to finish generating.
N.B. You may not get all the metadata (keywords etc) but in view of the problems you have had it may be your best hope. -
Some pictures in my iCloud show up blank on my ipad.... But it says I have zero pics on my iPhone... Where are my pictures?
Photostream in the cloud only keeps photos from the last 30 days (subject to a 1,000 photo limit). When photostream syncs the photos to your device they will stay there (subject to a 1,000 photo limit) until deleted, which means you may well have more photos in your photostream album on your device than there are in photostream in the cloud.
The consequence of this is that if you turn photostream off and on again on your device (or enable it for the first time), it will only be populated with photos from the last 30 days, which may not be all the photos that were previously in the photostream album on that device.
The problem I see is that the photos aren't on your phone and you won't be able to get them from the cloud because they are over 30 days old.
As for your iPad it sounds like they might be there, but you have encountered some sort of corruption. The problem is you can't turn photo stream off and on again to reset it, because you would lose what ever you have (even though they are corrupt) and they can't be recovered from the cloud.
The only suggestion I have is to try restarting the iPad. -
Where are TREX index stored? TREX server File system? or KM repository?
hi, friends:
can someone tell me where are TREX index stored ?
in TREX server file system?
or in portal KM repository? file system or DB?
thank you
CarolCarol,
TREX is a separate product. During installation and configuration of TREX you connect it to the portal. The search iViews of the portal will use the configured TREX server to do the actual search:
