Where are SERIAL NUMBERS / REGISTRATIONS located?

I'm doing a clean install on a separate internal disk, and am installing most of my apps from scratch.
But there's a bunch of smaller apps that I'd just love to copy over the app itself, and then... whatever files it needs to work, and be "registered". Rather than re-install, and then update all of them.
The preference files
Application Support files?
??

Hi Ed,
In most cases the serial number you registered comes with the software on the CD/DVD. If you have Adobe software, go here for help. http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/photoshop/f/serialnumber.htm
If you are running Windows... go here: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/productkeysactivation/f/serialkey.htm
I don't think you can access a serial number with the preference or Application Support files until the software is installed.

  • Where are the MetaData Templates located in PS C6 on a Mac?

Where are the MetaData Templates located in PS C6 on a Mac that you can add your contact and copyright information to?
On a Windows machine they are located in Owner/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/XMP.  I have some templates that I want to copy from a Windows laptop over to a Macbook Pro.
    Thanks, Bill

I’m on Mac OS 10.6.8 and there it seems to be
    ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/XMP/Metadata Templates
I think as of OS 10.7 Macintosh hides the Library, but one can get there by alt-clicking the Go-menu and selecting it from there … or something.

  • Where are my important files located in Leopard 10.5?

I had an old file from apple titled "Where are my important files located?" which applied to 10.3. I could not find this same doc for 10.5. It had the location of all the important files for safari, mail, address book, etc. and was handy when I was mirgrating files or backing up or so forth. Is there now an updated file/doc for this with regards to 10.5 Leopard? Or is every important file's location still located in the same location? Thanks

    Hi Teal,
I'm a big "foggy" on a lot of the OS X 10.3 "Panther" stuff but I think you'll find OS X 10.5 to be pretty similar in most regards.
As far as your user information, everything related to your user will be in the /Users/username location. The "Library" folder is probably the most important when it comes to application related data such as Safari, Mail, Address Book, iCal, etc. Some applications will have a folder directly inside the library folder (/Users/Username/Library/ApplicationName) and some will store data in the Application Support folder (/Users/Username/Library/Application Support/ApplicationName)
The important thing, is that all of your user data is stored in the /Users/Username location that will often be represented by a "House" icon when signed into that user.
Where it gets a little tricky, is some applications will store data in the /Users/Shared location and the /Library location. So if you ever do a total system migration there's a possibility you'll need to reinstall some applications. A Time Machine backup can assist with system migrations as it does a full and complete backup of your HD, including the User's home folder.

They are all stored in the iPhoto Library.  You would need to examine its contents to see them separately (outside of iPhoto).

Where are the Image Properties located? Recently watched a tutorial that suggested right clicking an image to see the Image Properties window. However, I am not seeing it. I am looking to add Image descriptions for better SEO. Thank you

    Hello,
Is that image used as a fill in a rectangle ?

  • Are serial numbers tied to order/receipt

I ordered an ipad 3G on July 3rd and have finally been rewarded today with a shipment confirmation. . . The wait is still killing me.
I also just got a call from a friend that had a reservation at an Apple Store for an ipad 3G of the same exact capacity. This iPad is a gift for someone who will be way for several weeks. . . so (you probably see where this question is going) If I traded iPads with my friend -- meaning that I would take the one he has just picked up, and when mine is finally delivered I would drop off my unopened box for him to give as a present -- would there ever be any issues going forward with the serial numbers?
Would the person receiving my friend's gift of the iPad that I ordered ever have trouble getting support? Would I be able to register the iPad that my friend just bought without any issues?
I assume that it would be totally fine, but I know that there are weird rules implemented to keep people from buying more than three iPads so I thought that there might be restrictions that applied to this sort of swap.
    TIA for any information.

It would be like receiving a gift. Apple doesn't care! But keep the receipt from your friend, just in case, though I've never been asked for one. Once you register the iPad, it's linked to you, until such time that you do a full wipe of the memory, maybe to sell it to someone else.

  • Where are the audio files located?

You know how when your video source is missing, it shows that ! with a yellow triangle around it? Then, when you hover over the !, it shows you where iMovie expected to find the video, and then you can just move the video there and it's fixed. But for audio, it doesn't show you where it is supposed to be located when you hover over the ! in the audio file (music green bar).
So, where are the music files supposed to be located so that it can find them?
    Thanks!

To the best of my knowledge, iMovie simply links to the music file from wherever it is located in your system. That could be the iTunes Library, your Desktop, an external drive, or other places. So if you move the music to a different location, I assume that iMovie will lose track of it. iMovie doesn't actually import the music to the project - it's just referencing it (as far as I'm aware).
If you know the name of the track (or tracks, or artists), try doing a search both within iTunes and on your hard drive using Spotlight. If found, the best solution is probably to drag it again into your project, then do the necessary edits if applicable.
Note that, in iMovie the music tracks are identified by song name - it's shown at the beginning of the green audio bar. So the songs shouldn't be too difficult to track down. It's just a pain having to re-instate them.

  • Where are the bookmark records located?

I am buying a new PC. I wish to use the same profile in my new download of Thunderbird. I plan to copy my existing Thunderbird profile and to import it into the new PC, so I can begin using Thunderbird quickly and effortlessly.

  • Where are the finder prefs located?

Finder prefs used to be located in Library>Prefs>com.apple.plist.
Where are they located in Lion......don't see them in the above location?

Icons on my Finder toolbar are about 1/3 smaller than they were in 10.6. Display resolution is the same as before.
Below is my Finder bar in 10.6 and underneath it is my Fiinder bar in 10.7. The outline (snapshot) area of the toolbars are the same in both pics. Repairing the permissions fix'd the problem for about an hour yesterday but then it reverted back.
I just noticed that the screenshots don't really show anything.....take my word for it, the icons are smaller. Yes, I'm looking for the Finder plist. When I go to the Prefs folder I don't see com.apple.finder.plist.

  • Where are my iWeb files located? My Domain folder is empty but the pages still open in iWeb.

I have a Macbook Pro OSX 10.6.8. iWeb opens all my pages and the website is fine.  When I look for the page files so that i can edit them in Text Edit I cannot find them.
I have searched EVERY file folder etc. on my computer including the Domain folder which shows empty.
So my question is - Where are they and how do I access them?

Download and use  Find Any File  to search for ".sites".  FAF can search areas that Spotlight can't and if you have a second domain file on your HD FAF will find it.
If you want to access the HTML files of your website then you need to publish your website to a folder on your hard drive.  With iWeb 2 that's done with the File ➙ Publish to a Folder menu option.
With iWeb 3 that's done by clicking on the site folder in iWeb and selecting the folder you want to publish toi:
