Where are Shared Photos from iPhoto in iTunes?

So I open iPhoto, select a photo, choose share to iTunes. iPhoto says it is transferring the photo to iTunes. However, when I look in iTunes, I cannot figure out where I am supposed to see the file I transferred.
Anybody know how this is supposed to work?
I'm running the latest everything ...

Thanks, it wasn't all that intuitive in iTunes, sinc e you have to scroll down to see it.
A little confused about what happens after I saved it to my Mac.
The file still shows up in the sharing pane, and there seems to be no way to get rid of it. How exactly does this work? Was the file actually transferred to iTunes from my phone, or is iTunes only transferring it to my Mac when I choose to save it to my Mac? If the latter, then the items in the sharing pane of iTunes are essentially aliases, but how do I delete them from the list once I downloaded them?
Thanks.

  • Where are my photos from Iphoto?

I recently opened Iphoto only to find that all my pictures are no longer there. My Library has gone from 11Gigs to 7 Mbs. I've considered rebuilding my library as suggested on other discussions but have no means of making a back up as I can't locate any of my pictures. I don't understand how or where they would have been relocated on my hard drive as they aren't in the trash either. I have iphoto version 7.6. I have no back up of the pictures and really hope all is not lost.
The only thing I've done differently recently would be that I was copying files from an event onto my desktop for easy locating during final cut pro editing that I was about to do, I stopped the transfer shortly after I had started it due to the selecting of the wrong event. Closed Iphoto and re-opened it and nothing was there.
    Any help will be appreciated
    Ray

My Library has gone from 11Gigs to 7 Mbs.
There are no photos in that Library. Any chance you have a second Library somewhere on your mchine?
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' It will list all the Libraries it finds.

  • Sharing photos from iphoto

I tried to share photos from Iphoto.  After sending it says photos were sent but I am not getting a BCC and the photos are not being sent?

Where are you mailing your photos? On an iPhone, iPad, or on your Mac? If it is iPhoto on your Mac, check the settings in  the Preferences > Advanced.  Have you enabled "Automatically BCC Myself"?
If it is on an iPad, iPod, iPhone, then post back with the iPhoto version and the kind of device you are using, please.

  • Why are my photos from iPhoto library deleted from my external hard drive when I am only deleting them from my internal drive?

I did a backup of photos (iPhoto library) from my internal to an external hard drive.  I have started to delete photos from my internal hard drive.  It seems that when I delete from the internal drive, photos also delete from the external.  I did a test and deleted one photo from iPhoto internal drive.  When I plugged in the new backup (external drive) and clicked on iPhoto library, it opened iPhoto in the exact place I was working and that one photo was gone.  What do I do?  I do not want to delete the photos off of my external hard drive.

When I plugged in the new backup (external drive) and clicked on iPhoto library, it opened iPhoto in the exact place I was working and that one photo was gone.
When you clicked on the library iPhoto on the EHD iPhoto is op;ending the last library that was previously opened. To change libraries launch iPhoto with the Option key held down to get this window:
Then select the library that is on the EHD if it's in the window. If it isn't, click on the Other Library button, navigate to the EHD and select the library there.

  • Sharing photos from iphoto 11, why does the photo information not upload when I click with share via email?  How can I make sure the photo information and location are shared when the photo (s) are shared.

When I go to share photos in iPhoto 11, The photos transfer to the email I'm sending but the photo information and location don't.  The older version of iPhoto did it, why not this version?  What am I missing in the process of sharing via email?, Thank You.

When you share to email do you get the following dialogue:

  • Where are my photos? iPhoto library hides them AND renames the folders

I recently upgraded to Lion OS and can no longer see my photos and videos in Finder. A search shows that they are all in a dir that is actually an iPhoto library. Bizarrely it has been given the name of the first lot of photos that I imported in to iPhoto from a flash drive - so all of my photos are "packaged" inside a file called "mom's photos"!!!. In Finder it appears as a data item - NOT as a folder - the contents of which can be seen by clicking "Show Package Contents". Inside this "package" is the directory tree that Get Info shows is the path for a photo file. The photos have been arbitrarily put in to directories called "Modified" and Originals within which they have been stored in folders with year names ("2003", "2006", etc) that have no connection to the date the photos were created or their file names.
Is this considered to be progress by Apple?  How can I work with my files independently of iPhoto or iMovie (raw video being also inside the iPhoto library "package")? How can I reverse the renaming of the folders? Can I rename the iPhoto library to a default name - such as "iPhoto Library" for example!
Any pointers on how to deal with this new regime for handling photos and video will be welcome
    jilsybean

    It's really very simple.
If you want to manage files, use a file browser.
If you want to manage photos, use a Photo manager like iPhoto.
No version of iPhoto has supported the user accessing the files via the Finder. None at all. In versions 1 to iPhoto 6 it was possible to view the contents of the library, but accessing was not supported. Making changes within the iPhoto Library was not supported. Renaming files and folders corrupted the Library.
So, with iPhoto 7 (released in the autumn of 2007) the library was moved into a package to protect it from Users making these changes.
How the files are stored simply doesn't matter. Why? Because everything you need to do can - and should - be done via the iPhoto application. It's a database, after all, and like any db requires that you manipulate the data via the app itself, not a back door.
iPhoto is your go-to app for anything you need to do with your Photos. You simply never access them via the Finder.
So, you can edit either with iPhoto - or in any other app: You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto.
Or, you want to access your photos for any reason at all:
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:   You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Command-Click for selecting multiple pics.
(Note the above illustration is not a Finder Window. It's the dialogue you get when you go File -> Open)
You can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
There's a similar option in Outlook and many, many other apps.  If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running:
For users of 10.6 and later:  You can download a free Services component from MacOSXAutomation  which will give you access to the iPhoto Library from your Services Menu.
Using the Services Preference Pane you can even create a keyboard shortcut for it.
For Users of 10.4 and 10.5 Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
    Other options include:
Drag and Drop: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
File -> Export: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
Show File:  a. On iPhoto 09 and earlier:  Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.    3.b.
b: On iPhoto 11 and later: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Reveal in Finder -> Original. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.
All of the above are a: faster and b: safer than rooting around in the old library folders.
I know it's a change but you'll get used to it. And, of course, if you don't, you can always use another app.

  • Where are my pictures from iPhoto?

Where did all of my pictures from iPhoto go? I can't find them on my Mac? How do I download my pictures from my iPhone? If I can't download pictures from my iPhone then Apple just killed part of the reason I have an iPhone in the first place. Fix it. I want my pictures back. I have no option to download photos from my iPhone to my Mac. Apple you should have given us a replacement program that just transferred everything over. Now what the heck do I do?

If you set up iCloud on the iPhone it will sync your photos via iCloud. Then set it up on the Mac, go to iPhoto/Preferences/iCloud and enable My Photo Stream.

  • Where are my photos from photo stream in iCloud?

Just transitioned to icloud. I added a photo to photo stream from iphoto and when I go to icloud on my mac I do not see any photos nor do I see an icon for photos like I did in Mobileme? Also, will photostream allow others to upload photos to my "gallery" as it did in mobile me? That was on of the reasons I signed up for mobileme in the first place.

You can't access photos from www.icloud.com. You can only view them in iPhoto ot Aperure ( or on a PC in your pictures folder ).
Also, will photostream allow others to upload photos to my "gallery" as it did in mobile me? ..
No. It is not a gallery, nor does it have sharing options.

  • Where are imported photos saved, during a iTunes sync with IOS devices?

When i sync my iPhone/iPad, on one of the steps it says importing photos.
Are these photos being transfered form my iPad to my PC, or the other way around?

They are being synced from your computer to your iPad - you can specify which photos that you want to sync to your iPad via the Photos tab : syncing photos.
If you want to copy photos taken with the iPad, copied onto it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites to your computer then it's done outside of iTunes : photos to computer.

  • Importing photos from iPhoto into iTunes

    Hey all,
Here is what I did step by step:
    1) Opened iTunes
    2) Selected an album & clicked command + i
    3) Clicked the blank artwork box to import some album artwork
    4) A box opened up, showing the iChat Icons folder and the Photo Booth folder
At this point, I don't quite know what I did, but I quit the application, re-opened it, and tried it again. But when I did it the second time, a third folder appeared--the iPhoto Library folder. However, it is grayed out and I can't access it to import any album artwork.
Does anybody know why this happened? Why did that folder appear the second time I opened it, and why is it grayed out? Is this normal?
I'm new to macs, so any and all help is very much appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Thanks for your responses. Just wanted to post an update in case anybody else has this "problem." For starters, it's not really a problem. Chris, you are right--it is supposed to be that way. I called up Apple tech support and the technician explained that if it were not grayed out, iTunes would import the entire library, although fwiw, he didn't sound too sure. At any rate, bottom line is that that is perfectly normal.

  • Difficulty sharing photos from iPhoto 9.0 2011

I can't seem to share photos easily.  I select them and click Share from the menu bar, but all the options to share such as email, Flickr, and Facebook are grayed out.  The account are set up and functional, and I can see my Facebook albums which I have created (through the facebook website) in the Albums section.  Help please.

    Mary,
Sorry for the dumb line of questions regarding the connection between the two computers -- I just reread the thread from the beginning and noticed your opening mention that they were connected by e-net cable. Of course, that raises another question -- actually several.
If your intent is simply to use the iBook to burn CDs from photos stored on computer "A", then why are you using iPhoto 5 on the iBook as an intermediate step at all? From computer "A", mount the iBook's hard drive and create a target folder. Select your individual photos or albums and export them to that target folder on the iBook. When the target folder has 600 MB (or so) of files in it, go to the iBook, insert a blank CD, and drag the folder to the CD. Drag the CD to the trash, and you'll be prompted to burn the contents to the CD. Empty the target folder (rename it if appropriate) and repeat the process for another batch of photos.
Or is your intent to produce "iPhoto CDs" that will mount in (or automatically launch) iPhoto upon inserting the CD?

  • Where are my photos after upgrade to Itunes 7

I have a video ipod with photos stored on it. I just upgraded to itunes 7 on September 11, 2007, sync'd ipod to computer. All music library and videos are OK but all my photos disappeared from my ipod.
I selected Ipod, photos tab, then Adobe Photo Album (I have version 2.0), selected sync. Still no photos transferred to ipod. Need assistance

OK, tried the reset and it seems to have cleared up some problems; however, the picture problem remains.
Maybe there is something further we could do in settings? My wife uses the iPad as her constant companion and likes to take screen shots (pictures) of recipes and such. She keeps them in albums. Before the update to iOS 7 they all displayed correctly regardless of physical machine orientation. Now, post update, when in landscape mode, which she uses 99.9% of the time, her pics do do fully display. By physically rotating the machine, they will appear correctly. We have noticed that there is a new "function" in edit pics for "aspect ratio."
Should we be using this? If so, she'll have to edit a very large number of pics. So I'm wondering if we're missing some new setting. BTW- this display problem also occurs with pics taken with the camera as well.

  • Where are my photos from my old phone? They were backed up in iCloud.

I got a new iPhone 4S and my old photos were backed up on the icloud. Now I cannot find them on my new phone (same model), but under "manage storage" in settinngs, it shows both my old phone and my new phone data. Please help me access my old photos!

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You need to restore from your old back up.
Settings > general > reset > erase all settings and content, choose to restore from iCloud when prompted, make sure you choose the right back up.

  • Where are my photos located?

Where are my photos from PSE 9 located; in what file can I find them.  I am making a slide show using ProShow Gold 4 and I need to access my photos from PSE and move or copy and paste them into the slide show, but I cannot find what file they are located in.
    Thanks,
    Craig

Your pictures could be anywhere, some might even be on a remote disk. Right-click on a thumbnail in the Organiser and select Properties at the bottom of the Popup Menu. In the popup window that appears the file location will be shown, clicking on the folder will open it in the Explorer.
Alternatively: in the Organiser make a selection of all the photo's you want to include in your slideshow. Then select File => Export and save to a convenient (temporary) location. This way you'll have all the photos in 1 location ready for import into your slideshow.
