Where are "Site settings"?

I've finally upgraded from a very old version of Dreamweaver to CS6. Trying to connect, I'm  told that the server certificate is unsigned or not issued by a trusted certificate authority. I am then told to go to "Site settings" - but where are they? Not under "Site"!

That is taken care of by your hosting company on the server. DW is just warning you that your site is apparently not secure, owned by Scammy McScammerson, or the administrator oopsied and let their security certificate expire.

  • Where are the settings to make Acrobat software recognize my scanner?

Where are the settings to make Acrobat software recognize my scanner?  I've had my computer on a road trip.  When I returned to the home office, I can't get Adobe Acrobat 10 Pro software to recognize my scanner, which is a 4-in-one printer.  Acrobat will print to the printer, but I can't get it to recognize the scanner to scan a document.  Any suggestions as to how to fix this?

Open the Acrobat application(Acrobat X) and later navigate to Create>PDF from scanner>Configure presets and later select the Scanner which is connected to your computer and check it will work.
If you are getting two options ie WIA and TWAIN please select TWAIN as Acrobat is compatible with TWAIN interface than WIA.

  • Where are iBooks Settings?

My other good iPhone readers, eReader and Goodreader both have settings to be able to change the font, font size, font color and background color and scrolling... where are iBook settings.. All I see is 'original' no use for reading on iPhone.

They are all in the books themselves - top right click on the brightness, font size, background colour setting buttons.

  • Where are the settings to invoke SSL for POP3 and SMTP?

I keep getting annoying emails from Yahoo!AT&T who are my internet providers about setting SSL settings for POP3 and SMTP services for receiving emails.  I have it configured on my main email settings for my client.  Do I have to set it as well for Blackberry service thru Verizon?
If so, where are these detailed settings located?

  • Where are Optimizer settings stored?

I need to deploy PDF Optimizer settings throughout my organization, like I did with joboptions.
So far I have been unsuccessful in searching for a file with the name into which I saved my optimizer settings.
Where are the optimizer settings stored?  I would hate to have to set these all manually for everyone.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi All,
Thanks for the info.  I think this is what I need, but I opened the Javascript console and pasted in the code and nothing happened.

What else do I need to do to make the Console recognize and respond that line of code?

  • Where are adobe settings saved?

    Hi,
I'm trying to automate a change to adobe acrobat pro 8 when saving TIF files I want to be able to enter a setting without opening a PDF and doing all the setting from inside adobe.  So I'm wondering where are all the settings saved?  I have tried to use process monitor and a couple other programs to capture saving/changing of the settings.  I have found that it isn't in the registry or any of the personal document settings on the computer.  It doesn't seem like a personal setting but for all of adobe.  So anyone have any ideas how to edit the settings without opening adobe since I'm trying to set using auto-deployment and don't want to have to manual set these.
    Thanks

    Hi,
After those settings are set though any time I want to save a TIF they are there.  So it seems like they are saved some where.  Yeah, I was thinking about getting an application to mimic the options of opening the application and doing the above steps but I would like to find where these settings are to make it simpler for me and others that might want to make it an easy process instead of opening adobe and doing all those steps.
    Thanks.

  • Where are compressor settings kept?

I have Compressor and some settings I would like to share with some fellow educators who do not have it, but do have FCP X. I was hoping to find the location where the Compressor settings are stored and add extras. And would they need to be in a folder labelled Custom, or just thrown in? Or is the whole idea not going to work? Thanks for any insight.

I should have mentioned earlier - that is the location of custom settings that you have created. The default settings that it ships with are stored inside the application bundle.
So if you don't have Compressor, you can't create custom settings and so you won't have that directory.
If you have an earlier version of Compressor the settings are stored at ~/Library/Application Support/Compressor.

  • Where are user settings for the JRE stored?

On a workstation, every user gets his own JRE settings (for example, changed the proxy settings). But for a deployment package, I need to set the proxy settings differently from the Internet Explorer settings.
Can't find it in C:\documents and settings\Administrator (or the user dirs), the registry, C:\program files\java\... - So where are they kept?!

Thanks, it appeared the windows environment settings rerouted to a similar path but on a different network drive! ;)

  • Where are proxy settings stored for JRE 6

Where are the http proxy settings stored for JRE 6? I am trying to figure out how to centrally manage these settings for a large number of computers. I have heard about the deployment.properties file, however changing this file is not changing my proxy settings.
    Thanks for you help.

  • Where are my settings for Firefox stored so I can configure my new PC?

Everytime I change my laptops or start from scratch, do I have to configure firefox all over again (i.e. fast dial, add ons, appearance)?
I only know how to backup and restore bookmarks. Where are all my configurations stored? Please someone tell me?
    Thank you

The user data is stored in the profile folder. You can copy the data manually by copying the contents of the profile folder, for details see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_backup or https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Backing+up+your+information

  • Where are my settings??

I'm really getting furious. I bought this iMac yesterday, and it works great, there's only one problem. If I log out and log back in, ALL my settings are reset. The dock, the Finder, the browser, wallpaper, EVERYTHING. Every time I log out and back in this happens. Is there a setting that controls this? Oh, and now I can't rename my folder; it shows it as my short name, but I can't rename it to what I had before, because it's already in use. I just have no idea where. Is there a setting somewhere, anywhere that I can change?
    Thank you for your help!
Update: All my files are gone. I can replace them, but the folders are gone. I also think I found the problem. I went into Users, and about four folders had my name. Is it making a new account every time I login?

If you change the name of your home directory, it does not delete the files, it creates a new home directory with the old short name, with all default preferences, so that it appears to the user that they have lost all their files, when in reality they sit in another home directory. There are many, many things in OS X that depend on the short name being correct and the name of the home directory being the same as the short name, so you can't just change the name of the home directory. ChangeShortName changes the short name in all the necessary locations, so that no problems occur.
The loss of settings every time you login may very well be an effect of changing your short name, as well as incorrect permissions, such that new settings cannot be saved to disk.

  • Where are toolbar settings stored in Acrobat 9?

We recently deployed Acrobat 9 firmwide and now realize that the "rotate clockwise" and "rotate counterclockwise" buttons do not appear on the Page Display Toolbar by default.  This is causing our users some trouble as they are used to just clicking a button to rotate images.  I have been unable to find where this particular setting is stored in the registry; our hope is to use Group Policy to add these buttons to everyone's toolbar.  We do not want to re-deploy this application.  Can anyone help me out?  Much thanks in advance!

Thanks, Steve. Actually, the ones I needed--my custom settings--were stored in a similar path: [username]>Library>Application Support>Adobe>Adobe PDF>Settings. What's interesting is that if you do a search for ".joboptions", none of these are found. Curious!
I'll make a note of this path.

  • Where are sidebar settings saved?

I have tried to figure out where the settings you make in the Finder Preferences for the Sidebar is saved. I want to make a script or a profile that will make every device visible in the sidebar. Standard is only external disks and CDs, but I want computer and hard disks to show too.
I have looked inside com.apple.finder.plist and com.apple.sidebarlists.plist and even compared these files before and after the modification i made in the GUI, but nothing changes (except which tab I was in, in the preferences window).
Does anyone know where these settings are saved so I can use 'defaults', 'PlistBuddy' or a profile to deploy this to our clients?

Ok, but I will post the answer here, because I found it out myself now. It may help someone...
Make a profile from com.apple.sidebarlists.plist, download it, change PayloadScope to System and change "forced" to "Set-Once", voila! The last step, changing forced to set-once is the key for making this work!

  • Where are site files

I created a simple two page site: ellemichaud.com. It consists of jpgs and pdfs. I uploaded them along with the .muse file. But a computer search does not show where index.html, about.html, sitemap.xml files are, or the css, images, and scripts folders are. Somehow the site uploaded (using Muse Upload to FTP Host), but I need to understand where these basic files/folders are when building a new site. I've seen a couple of Muse tutorials on how to build a basic site, but not showing where the files and folders go.

    Hi Wayne,
Any file created in Muse has an extension " .muse " . Now , the website that you create in Muse is converted automatically by muse into related html, css and js files when the site is published or uploaded. In your system only the " .muse " file is present.
Now, if you want to see all the files that muse generates on your system ,then  you can always use the option of File->Export as HTML from Muse. This will create the HTML, CSS and js files of your muse site on your system.
    Hope this helps
