I am talking about jdk6.Those are not API's and you should not use them. They are implementation classes for the Java platform and subject to change from version to version, from platform to platform or from vendor to vendor.

  • What are the weird files that start with ._ that pc users get when I send zips?

When I send files that I zip using Stuiffit to pc users they get the files plus an equal number of files that start with ._ Does anybody know what these are and how to get rid of them?
    Thanks!
    Karen

Dot files are invisible files that OS X uses to display positions of files and folders icon for instance when you open a folder.
That is indeed what a .DS_Store file does, but that's not the ones Bogies is referring to.
There are various other items that start with a period, such as .Trashes. Every drive gets a trash folder, just as Windows does to each of its drives. While it hides its own trash folders from view, Windows doesn't recognize OS X's version of the trash folder, so you see it.
But you're likely talking about these. Every file you copy from OS X to a DOS/Windows formatted drive gets a ._ file. The Mac OS has a twin file system; the data fork, and the resource fork. Windows has only a data fork.
In order for OS X to maintain the resource fork data on a Windows drive, it has to write the resource data as a separate data fork file. So a file named foo.tif will also get a ._foo.tif file on the drive. Mac users don't see them since UNIX automatically hides anything that starts with a period. When you copy the file back to OS X, the data and resource fork info is combined again into a normal Mac file.
Most of the time, removing these are no big deal. They hold simple data like Type and Creator codes, modification dates, icons, etc. Others, like Mac Type 1 PostScript or Mac legacy TrueType fonts have all of the font data in the resource fork. Delete the ._ files for those types of fonts, and you're left with nothing.

  • Copy all the objects from the one system that start with (ZANK)

    hi to all,
I have installed the name space /ank/ in the US system, we need to copy all the objects from the India system that start with (Zank) and re-create them as /ank/. problem is how can i copy objects and re-create.
    thanks

    Hi Ankal,
I guess this is your second thread on the same question. Ok provide these information
    >>I have installed the name space /ank/ in the US system,
Are you saying that you have a machine (US System) and i has a namespace /ank/ ? What all objects are there in this namespace?
    >>we need to copy all the objects from the India system that start with (Zank) and re-create them as /ank/.
Is the India system on the same US system?
Also tell me whether you have opened the home page of SAP XI/PI?  If yes , are you able to open Integration Repository? If yes then how these US and India systems are referred in Integration Repository? Are they referred as separate software components?

  • Where are the files saved that someone sends you via Skype Windows8

Hi, I just bought a new computer that has windows 8 installed on it and I must say that I was chocked when I realised that the system is like running a pad wich is so bad if you are looking to actually work with the computer. Then I installed skype and was astounded that there is nothing that you can do with it. No video call?I use skype to send files and do video calls. Now when someone sends me a file I have no choice of where that file is saved... Where are the files saved? OS: Windows 8 Thank you

Hi, I can´t see any skype flooder in that location too What shall I do ? Where are my photos ?I am sure I received it , and its not hidden !Thats terrible !!!!I liked skype before, but now ? Why should I use thing like that when I can´t find my pictures!

  • Where are the API Docs of the appserv-rt.jar classes and others?

Where do I find the API Documentation/Specification for the classes of :
    com.iplanet ...
    com.sun.appserv ...
    com.sun.enterprise.security ...
The very of appserv-rt.jar and appserv-rt-ee.jar
    I need it for AS7 (J2EE 1.3) and AS8 (J2EE 1.4).
Something like http://java.sun.com/j2ee/sdk_1.3/techdocs/api/index.html would be nice

For AS8, the docs subdirectory under your installation directory will have javadocs for all classes in com.sun.appserv and javax... namespace.
For AS7, what is it that you are specifically looking for?
In general, com.sun.enterprise... classes are not documented. There are exceptions and you should be able to find them in developer's guide.
Finally, you might want to look at the source code in the Open Source Application Server project GlassFish (http://glassfish.dev.java.net).

  • So where are the real photos that are used between iPhoto and iMovie?

    OK....this is getting ridiculous...
So where the heck does iMovie and iPhoto really store and pull the images from cause this makes no sense...
I will try and make this is a shorten version of a long story...Here is what I am dealing with...
G5 with iLife 06 and all updates...
Powerbook Pro with iLife 06 and all updates...
Spent five days editing project on my Macbook Pro --> emptied trash and bye bye project...Started over on my G5 since none of my clips are editable now (Thanks Apple! I needed that)
I had previously spent a week editing over 200 photos in Photoshop on my Macbook...This included color correction and dust and scratches as well as some retouching...So I transferred all Photos onto my G5 from my Macbook Pro and imported into Library...New discovery...Photos look like crap now...Like they were never cleaned up at all...Interesting...
So I start redoing some of these retouches and save them...Of course the changes are not reflected in iPhoto or iMovie since it doesn't really use the originals again after the initial import...Or does it?
So now here is another baffling thing to me...I do red eye correction to some photos and it is an immeditate change that can be seen in iMovie when importing...But if I rotate the pictures, no...sorry that only seems to take effect after I rotate the original in Photoshop and then reimport into my iPhoto library and delete the duplicates that have now gotten created in the process...
Can someone help me understand what is going on...This added work is giving me a headache...Where and how does iPhoto store and use the images? Why if i rotate a photo it doesn't take effect in iPhoto/iMovie unless I completely reimport, but I can remove red eye instantly...And what has happened to all the changes I made to the existing photos to remove the dust and scratches originally?

All images must be in a project. You can place then in as many albums as you wish- even albums outside the project where they reside- but they will remain in the project.
Move the images to the album. Then drag them over the project where the album resides and they will be moved to that projects. If you drag them to an album and not the project, they will remain in the original project.
Kinda hard to wrap your head around at first, but you'll see that it makes perfect sense as you progress with the application.

  • Where are the latest files that be downloaded in the computer?

a problem confused me recently.i cannot find the files which be downloaded by adobe application manager.
so, who can help me? thanks.

    Bear with me:
Where the actual files are stored doesn't matter. If you want to delete them you put them in the iPhoto Trash and then empty it. Thereafter you also empty the system trash. Do this in batches of about 100 or so at a time.
If you delete the files directly via the Finder then you will corrupt your Library.
Yes, if you have photos linked from iphoto to other apps, then deleting them will break those links.
Have you considered moving the whole Library to another disk?
Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.
As an FYI: The files are stored in the iPhoto Library package in your Pictures Folder.

  • What are the *.mnu files that download with the Hewlett Packer instrument drivers?

I have a  rather odd problem.  I ran a program on another machine and all works fine, but ported it to a vendor site and have only one issue that I can't seem to resolve.  I'm talking to several HP6632A DC Power Supplies, an HP 34401A and an HP8720C.  Everything is smooth until the HP6xxxA Read Output Voltage Current.vi is called.  It shows 0 volts and 0 amps, on the Front Panel of this VI, even though there is a voltage and current value.  The supplies are setting up fine, but for some reason this VI pulls back zeroes - and I've tried it on both of the supplies in the stand.  There are no errors showing on the supply.
Now there is one difference, short of the obvious difference of the physical supplies.  The vendor site has a USB to GPIB NI adapter.  At the development site, a NI GPIB card was installed.  Again, I'm puzzled due to the lack of any error.
    Thanks in advance!

Dennis - thanks.  I fired up MAX and I do get the values back when I do either an IOUT? or VOUT$.  Now I'm using Agilent (HP) drivers downloaded from NI, but again, I'm not setting the value.
    I've attached the VI

contact your school’s IT support department. Since your school requires that that program  be installed on your Mac, they’re the ones who are responsible for its well-being on your Mac.

  • Where are the triangular arrows that open folders?

The triangular arrows next to the finder folders is gone.  How do I restore?

You must have the Arrangement set to None to have the disclosure triangles.
You can still sort by clicking on the column headers, or by holding down the Option key and selecting an option from the same menu/button.

  • HT201317 where are the photo's in icloud?

I am in my icloud on a pc
    signed in etc.
Where are the photo's that are supposed to be in icloud

You can't view photo stream photos on icloud.com.  They can only be viewed on an iOS device or computer that is signed into your account with photo stream enabled.  To set this up on your PC, see http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/pc.html.  Note: when you first enable photo stream on your PC you will only get photos from the last 30 days as older photos are no longer in iCloud.

  • There are several items I'd like to remove that are on the line at the top of my page that starts with "Most Visited," and I have been unable to find a way to remove them.

At the top of the page, between the address of the page I'm on and the tabs that are open is a line that starts with "Most Visited" and also includes Amazon, aBay, Yahoo, etc., all of which I want to keep. But there are also a number of other links that I don't want but can't find a way to delete. I've looked at suggestions til my eyes bugged out of my head, but nothing I've found allows me to get rid of them. Only one of them is something I saved, but it is no longer usable.

The mouse that came with my Mac does not have a right click feature. When I try to highlight and click, it just opens the link I don't want anymore. What I want to do is remove unwanted links from the top bar. For example, I no longer use GoodSearch or myEarthLink, but I can't delete them. There are also some links that never should have found their way up there, and I don't know how they ended up there, and I can't remove them either. I've read through a ton of questions and answers, and I can't find one that addresses the problem. With my Safari browser, all I have to do to remove an unwanted link is to click and drag it to the trash. It doesn't appear to work that way with Firefox, to my chagrin. I hope this better explains my question. Maybe that will give you a better insight into a solution.

Im am trying to send the reset information for my apple security question to my email, they are not be received and it says it is sending it to a email that starts with c

That's not a good sign if it said it was going to send it to an email address you've never heard of. Contact iTunes Support and let them know this: http://apple.com/support/itunes/contact/
