Where are the BIOS update release notes - Satellite P300-Q01

I have a Satellite P300 Q01 - there have been two BIOS updates since I bought it W360 and W390.
Where can I find the release notes detailing what is fixed/changed in each release?

Unless you have the mac app store version, Editor>Help>Updates should get you all the available updates.

BIOS Update Release Notes

Hi,
I have seen that there are many BIOS updates, versions 6.50, 6.60 and 6.70 but no release notes with documentation on the new features or resolved caveats.
Doesnt provide Toshiba with this information?
I expected to have enough information to decide on update by myself.
Any of you have more information?

Unfortunately on European Toshiba page Toshiba doesnt offer such notes, just BIOS update.
What you can do is to check BIOS update version on US page - http://support.toshiba.com/drivers
There you can find info what is new in certain BIOS update.
Anyway, if your notebook runs well and stabile BIOS update is not necessary.

Where are the camera profiles? Not showing up in LR 4

The camera profiles are not visible in the camera calibration menu in the develop module of Lightroom 4. I installed them using the installer that came with the profiles. What folder are they supposed to be in so I can use them (Windows 7 x64)? Where is the documentation? Why isn't Adobe answering the phone?

The actual path there looks like:
C\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.1\Resources\CameraProfiles\lens profiles\camera\adobe standard (empty)
However, I installed rc 4.2 after I wrote to you, and the path to the (Sony) camera profiles is now:C\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.2 RC\Resources\CameraProfiles\Adobe Standard. There is another folder named Camera, under Camera Profiles, in which are Canon, Nikon, and other camera folders - with several different profile choices within each folder. In this other "Camera" folder there are some Sony cameras with different profile choices for each camera in the folder, ie portrait, landscape, vivid, standard. Can I try one of those, or does the program automatically go to my camera model? Are they planning to add these other profile choices for my Sony SLT a57?
The one profile listed in the development menu is "embedded". What is that?

How to move recovery partition to sd and where are the bios upates?

Im a newbie. Firstly how do I move the recovery partition to my micro sd? Secondly, when I try to find support drivers, bios updates etc, the encore doesn't appear as an option, it only list notebooks!

I need some help with this also. The Toshiba utility Create Recovery Media won't back the recovery partition up to an SD card. It wants a USB drive. Why in the world would a tablet back up to a USB device when it only has an SD card?. I've seen some extremely laborious processes to create another kind of recovery partition. I'm out of space on my 32GB Encore and I need to get the recovery partition off of the C: drive. Help anyone...??? Thanks!

Where are the film updates?

Have they stopped updating the movies on picture box, and just not told us? Last week I got 3 new films and this week a total of none. Yet the BT Vision web page says they changed some films on Friday.

I would still like to know what is happening with sony films because it only has 3 films left in it and all of them expire by next Tuesday 20th November so I hope BT plan to add more today otherwise it will be an empty section. "Lets watch some sony films tonight...oh it appears sony dont make any films!". Infact a lot of films expire pretty soon including most from MiraMax at the end of the year which isnt far off so come the new year will there actually be any films on vision? :\
Are BT slowly killing off the vision film section and just not telling us?
Agreed - I've now switched to Now TV for films due to what they offer - been watching loads of titles that were released last year and some from this year - also Netflix have just release 21 Jump Street on normal viewing, so think will watch that this weekend

As i have problems getting Pencil up and running with FF4 so i wnt to remove it and install FF3 again. FF4 is of no value for me at the moment when old plugins and extensions are not working anymore.

Go to [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html Download Firefox v3.6.17] and download it to the desktop.
Then go to Add/Remove Programs, scroll down to '''Mozilla Firefox '''and remove it, choosing to keep your bookmarks, customizations etc., (don't checkmark the box).
Then reboot and delete the folder called '''Mozilla Firefox''' at this location: ''C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox''
Finally run the installation file you downloaded to the desktop earlier.
Your bookmarks, customizations etc., are maintained in a different location and will become available to you again once you complete the installation.
After you complete the installation, go to the [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/ Plugins Check] page and update those where necessary.

Where are the software update files located?

Because I get charged for my download traffic (don't ask--one of the drawbacks of living in the country), I set my software update preference to download the latest 10.5.4 update. That way I can then transfer the update file to our other computers. However, I can't find where Apple sticks the file.

Hello John,
That ability to "Install and keep package" in Software Update, doesn't work.
It use to be an extremely useful thing, but now no longer works in Leopard. Instead you will have to download the Update from the Apple site and then you will be able to keep it, and only use Software Update to tell you want you need.
In 10.3, not sure about 10.4 I could collect all packages, which I would then burn onto a CD. But alas, no more.

HT6378 I "upgraded" to iCloud Photo Library (Beta), my 2000+ pictures between my iphone/ipad has now become 85 photos. Where are the other 1900 pictures--not in the deleted folder?

I upgraded to iCloud Photo LIbrary (Beta) today but my 2000+ pictures have now become 85 pictures on the iCloud/iPhone & iPad. The pictures are not in the deleted folder. These "pictures" were NOT normal with prior IOS upgrades. I could not delete them. Where have all of these pictures gone?

Ok, so here's a solution to this issue:
Backed up my iPhone on iTunes
Did a factory reset on iPhone
Restored the thing from previous backup
Re-entered all my passwords and such
Now it's syncing again.
The whole procedure took me about two hours.
No idea why this happened. Beta, I guess.

It depends on how you have iTunes Preferences set. The default is that when you drag files into the Music list they are copied into the library (so now you have two copies). You can change this so that all the iTunes Library contains is a references to the files - effectively an alias. Obviously if you move the files, iTunes can't find them.
In your case, if your iTune/iTunes Music folder and the album folders inside it contain actual music files then the files outside the iTunes folder are duplicates and can be removed. If the files are simply references, and thus very small, then you can't remove the actual music files.
The quick test is to close iTunes and remove them temporarily. Then open iTunes and see whether your songs play. Scroll through the list looking for the small i in a circle sign to the left of the title which indicates it can't find the file. If you don't find any then you are safe to get rid of the duplicate files.
In doing all this do not tamper with anything in the iTunes folder.

Where are the Knowledgebase/Adobe Tech Notes

This morning I went in search of some Adobe Tech Notes for Premiere Elements 7 and found what appears to be a "beta" version of what used to be a workable Knowledgebase.
Does anyone have any information as to whether these Adobe Tech Notes are still available or whether they have met the same fate as the Premiere Elements FAQs that Steve Grisetti was looking into in response to my recent topic/question on the latter?
Further, who is the force behind the changes encountered here...Adobe or top level users? If Adobe, then who can we contact to direct these nuisance problems. Any suggestions?

I just tried a Google Search for the Premiere Elements 7 Adobe TechNote (Vista, Errors & Freezes) that I was looking for at the Adobe site and found it on the Internet. So, it still exists somewhere. Adobe apparently has not killed the Internet link to it yet.

Where are the Stamp Packs? Not displaying...

Just purchased iPad Air 2, working with Adobe Line and I don't have the Slide Icon showing at the upper right corner as demonstrated in the introductory video. Slide works but I only have the basic tools available of line, square, triangle and circle. I have no access to the other options... Smart Packs, etc.
Disappointed, forked out a bunch of bucks here and this is not working.

I figured it out. I'm pretty literal in my thinking and when things do not match to what I've seen it's a little confusing. This is my first iPad, I'm getting familiar with it. I'm trying to follow tutorials and when they don't match up I'm a little confused. Add to that some of the frustrations that I'm reading elsewhere about iPad Air 2 and Ink and Pen and the money I've forked out to accomplish some specific things then my threshold was exceeded.

You will notice in the upper right hand corner next to the red pen icon that we have a selected slide icon. Today that does not exist, it's now a circle/triangle icon and when you open that you get a menu quite different from the one in this instructional video. Someone has changed this in a subsequent upgrade to the Adobe Line app and of course I later figured you have to scroll down... duh.
All is ok. I'm embarrassed to be a newbie, but I figured it out. Thanks.

Where are the patch updates to download for Macromedia MX?

Yes, I know it's old but I bought this almost 10 years ago and never did use it much. We're talkin Flash MX (Flash Professional 6 (not CS6)), Freehand MX (Freehand 10), and Dreamweaver MX (Dreamweaver 6), and Fireworks FX.
I'll definately be using Flash FX (old set of Flash library content I bought) and possibly Freehand 10, unless Microsoft Expressions Design does a better job than Freehand 10.
Today the software is fast and I'll be using it alot more. I'd like to patch the software but otherwise it works fine.
No I don't need it to do inane flash ads hawking mortage refinancing or 'one weird trick' to go to some website so they can rip me off.

Support for those old versions was stopped long ago.
Not really sure why you want/need to patch that software tho. If the software works fine, use it and go. There is very little or no security reasons for not doing so.
You may discover more security problems by "patching" the software from some 3rd, knockoff scammer than not patching at all.

I have not recieved a software update in months. Where are the software updates that Apple is supposed to send me automatically?

So, how do I keep my 4 year old Mac up to date? The Apple store said that the regular Software Updates would keep my Mac current. How do I get the functionality consistent with what the Apple store sold me on?
I think you must have misunderstood what you were told. Software Update will update your current system for as long as it remains supported. If your profile information is correct, and you are running Mac OS X 10.5.8, that's as far as you can go with that system. In order to stay "current," you would need to purchase one of the more recent Mac OS X upgrades. You can certainly upgrade that machine to Snow Leopard (10.6). You should even be able to update it to the latest version (Mac OS X 10.8, aka Mountain Lion), though you will have to install Snow Leopard first. You can find Snow Leopard here:

I'm just really concerned, because my email was hacked, and the Abuse & Spam articles are telling me I need to check for malware. But Apple told me that my Mac would always be "virus proof".
Again, I think that you're misunderstanding what you were told. Either that or the person you spoke to at Apple didn't have a clue what they were talking about. Nobody can ever guarantee that a system will always be "virus-proof."
