Where are the Boot Camp Update 3.3 release notes?

I got a prompt on my Windows 7 install about an update. States to go to the boot camp support page for release notes. Went to the boot camp support page and no release notes. Saw link "Boot Camp Software Update 3.3 for Windows" (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1443) and I can download from there but again, it doesn't show what exactly is in it other than "critical bug fixes and hardware support". Then it says for more information to go to the main boot camp support page.
So where the heck do I go to actually SEE what was fixed in the release?!

As far as I can find out, only Apple knows the details about 3.3 .

  • Where are the Boot Camp Drivers?

Running Boot Camp 3.0.4 and it gets to the part about drivers. Download drivers doesn't work and the drivers don't seem to be anywhere on my original Snow Leopard install discs. Anybody have a clue how to proceed from here?

The drivers are on the original disc, not the download.
Boot Windows, insert the disc and run Seup.exe (if it does not Autostart)

  • Boot Camp Update 2.1 will not run

I'm trying to install Windows XP on my Intel Macbook. It's a legal copy purchased from Microsoft so no trouble there.
The Bootcamp Assistant worked fine and the Windows install worked fine. I'm now at the point of trying to install the Boot Camp drivers but I don't have my Leopard disc available. (I bought a an OS X Family Pack and my son currently has the discs 20 miles away.)
Accordingly, I downloaded the Boot Camp 2.1 update from Apple but it simply will not run under Windows in the Boot Camp partition. It briefly looks (1-2 seconds) as though it's starting, but then never does.
I tested the .exe file on a pure Windows machine and it runs fine so there's no file corruption problems.
I've searched online but can't seem to find any solution to this particular problem.

But that's not what the Apple download page says. Specifically it says the following.
"Note: This download contains complete copies of Boot Camp Windows XP Drivers (version 2.1). If you have Boot Camp drivers already installed, it will update them. If you do not have any Boot Camp drivers installed, it will install version 2.1 drivers onto your already installed Windows OS."
    Hi,
I admit I haven't ever taken a closer look at that and as said to my knowledge, the 2.1 update only works with the 2.0 drivers already installed.
Just did a quick googling and couldn't find any success story of using the 2.1 Update as a standalone driver install without having the 2.0 driver installed before.
Do you have the needed Admin rights when running the update.exe ?

  • Real Bonehead Question-What do I do with the Boot Camp Update 2.1?

    Hello All,
The speakers on the iMac don't seem to work using boot camp/Windows Vista and some folks suggested I download the update from Apple.
    http://support.apple.com/downloads/BootCamp_Update_2_1_for_Windows_Vista32
Well, I have done so. Uh..Now what? When I opened the download, all I get is a text edit full of gobblygook. I suspect I am doing something wrong...
Any words of wisdom? Don't be afraid to describe in great detail, using very small words on this topic. I take foolproof as a personal challenge.
    Thanks,
    Brian

    Hi Brian,
the file you downloaded is an .exe file which can only be run in Windows not in OSX (as you obviously tried).
Copy the file to an USB-Memory-Stick, reboot your Mac into Windows and copy the file from the USB-stick to your Windows partition.
(I prefer a Folder in the root directory for this, e.g. C:\Download)
But before running this driver update you should check which driver versions you have installed already.
Since your signature states that you are using OSX 10.6.4 Snow Leopard I assume that you have installed the BootCamp Drivers form the OSX install DVD which would mean that you have at least the 3.0 Drivers (or later) installed.
Right-click on the BootCamp 'diamond' icon in the lower right side to see which version you have right now.
You might also use the Apple Software Update in WIndows to see if you are uptodate.
    Regards
    Stefan

  • Where are the regular maintenance updates?

Most expensive/professional software I own licences for
receives maintenance updates and bug fix patches on a regular
basis. Even with shareware and freeware, the patches and updates
just keep coming. Flash Professional should certainly be no
different, there's more than enough bugs to warrant some fixing.
But what did we get? Nothing! Some measly updates for the Flash
player, that's all. Clearly Adobe/Macromedia cannot be trusted in
this department, they just move on to the next project and leave
    users to wrestle with bugs.
A few examples off the top of my head:
    - The new smoothing algorithm introduced in Flash 8 is
kaputt. It blurs bitmaps even when they're shown in 1:1 scale,
anti-aliasing intentionally aliased stuff. Clearly there's some
rounding error or something messing with the scale of things. For
example, I used Flash 7 to make document and application icons in
128x128. They fit exactly to the pixel grid and when I exported
them from Flash 7 they were sharp as can be. When I export the same
icons to PNG from Flash 8 at 128x128, using the same source files,
the edges are suddenly blurred. With some trial and error I
discovered that I had to export them in 129x129 in order to make
them look as they did from Flash 7, then crop the picture in
    Fireworks to 128x128.
    - "Convert Lines to Fills" is a mess. It generates a
completely warped rendition of the selected lines if they overlap.
You have to walk Flash through the process by selecting a few lines
well away from eachother, move them away from the rest, convert to
fills, then repeat this process until you finally get a WYSIWYG
rendition of the lines you wanted to convert.
    - Various UI graphics bugs. For example if you drag-select
across a number of layers and frames in the timeline and insert or
delete, leftovers from the black selection rectangle are still
visible in the timeline. You have to minimize/maximize the window
    to make it redraw correctly.
    - If I enter W/H/X/Y coordinates for an object, say "10.0",
    it's because I want exactly 10.0. I don't want Flash to arbitrarily
change it sometimes to 10.1 or 9.9. Sometimes you have to enter it
    twice to make it stick.
    - Flash 'forgets' parts of audio files in the library. I
import a lot of WAV files to the library, and sometimes a few saves
down the line I discover there are mysterious silent gaps in the
audio. I have to re-import the files again to fill these gaps.
    - FlashPaper (it installed correctly on very few computers,
you had to fix it in a DOS prompt, or FlashPaper would just hang
when you try to print). I've also had complaints that my FlashPaper
rendered PDF:s won't open in Mac OS X.
These are just a handful of examples I can think of at the
moment, I know I've stumbled upon dozens more and I'm sure there's
a collective pool of thousands. What I want to know is why
Adobe/Macromedia feels it's OK to not bother with maintenance
updates and fixes for a product of this price and magnitude? It's a
despicable business practice I would expect from shady vaporware
    peddlers.

It's only your perspective that "nobody seems to care" that
couldn't be anymore incorrect - I see it
first hand how dedicated and caring the developers of flash
    are.
I wont get into a platform war either - but i clearly
remember the MS promotion MS was using
claiming the new "Innovative" features of IE7 - specifically
    showcases their new tabbed browsing
feature and popup stopper - FF had that long before them -
    hardly innovative.
Vista looks and acts very much like Mac OS - at least on the
surface. It's so blaringly obvious to
me that they must have been studying OSX when they were
    deisigning Vista.
Anyway - i dont really care about OS - and your points are
totally valid - I'm a PC user only
because flash always runs better on PC then MAC.
I just think your claims that nobody cares and complacency
within Adobe are ill-founded - I am very
much closer to the people that you are talking about and see
their dedication first hand for years -
unless you are as close or closer, it's hard for me to agree.
But if you feel this way from a users POV - then perhaps
something is wrong on a marketing level or
some other area. Flash 8 was developed by Macromedia - the
next version of flash will be developed
by Adobe - let's hold of on judging them until they come out
with the next version - until then,
complaints of non caring and complacency simply hold no
    weight.

  • Are the boot camp drivers on the Macbook install disk only...

...for the macbook? Or does it have the drivers for other macs too like the imac.
    Thanks

Thanks in bunches, guys. Almost everything is working, I need help in one more things that's driving me nuts.
I've been able to install sound, bluetooth, and I'm able to do a right click. But for some reason, I still can't scroll and the buttons on the keyboard (i.e. the eject button), still won't work.
There are two trackbad drivers. One is called multitouch and one just called track pad. Which one of those should I install?

  • Where are the hostnames stored in hyper-v manager (not System Center related) stored and can I updated them from the command line.

I have 20 or 30 Hyper-V hosts that I want to work with using windows 8.1 Hyper-V Manager (mmc) interface. Is there a way I can add the hosts into the interface with out doing the click, click, click  . . . thing. I don't recognize anything in the Hyper-V
module that would let me enter hosts that would then just "show up" in the console. I expect I will need to do this with more than one workstation.

You can create hosts with PowerShell.  Search for "powershell new-vm"
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh848537.aspx
Once you have defined the VM you can add existing disks of you can move an already created VM to a machine and activate it.

  • Boot Camp Update from 1.4 (beta) on WinXP Pro

I need some help. I have a 17" MBP core 2 duo running WinXP through Boot Camp 1.4 (beta). On the Mac side I use OSX(10.4xxx) - Tiger NOT Leopard.
I would really appreciate it if someone could post a 1,2,3... list of how to update my Boot Camp version. Do I even need to do this? Will it make anything better on my computer?
Also - the Boot Camp update is not showing up in the Apple Software Update (in Windows). I downloaded the Boot Camp update for XP and nothing happens when I try to open it. Any thoughts?
    Thanks,
    Chris

    Chris:
Fortuny is right. You will need to have boot camp 2.0 installed before you get 2.1 installed. You have version 1.4. you must first update it to version 2.0. For that you will need the Leopard Installation Disk. I know you are running Tiger however if you happen to have a Leopard Installation disk then the solution posted [HERE|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1499769&tstart=0] will work for you.

  • Boot Camp Update to 2.1 don't work

    Hello,
I am new here. My MacBookPro runs now 2 years without problems.
I upgrade my HDD to a 500 GB model and it works fine.
The Windows Vista Business(now the English Version) don't accept the Boot Camp Update to Version 2.1.
Before I have used the German Vista Business and it works fine.
My Idea is, get the Boot Camp 2.1 from a new Installer DVD and install it. It should work. Or I wait until the Apple Update Service fix the problem.
I don't know? Do I really need this update? I update the Nvidia Driver allready separatly to fix a problem with my second screen and it run well.

Hmmm, please read carefully. It isn`t a problem with Boot Camp, I think.
Please tell me, if I am fail.
Boot Camp run perfectly on Vista 2.0 from my Leopard Installer DVD and 2.1 from the new Leopard DVD. I don't have one of the new DVD now, but a friend try it out allready. It run's. My question is, why I can't install Boot Camp 2.1 with Apple Software Update? In the German Version of Vista Business I don't have these problems. Why now with the English Version?

I have an older Mac Pro (2006). I want to install Boot Camp and Windows. I have installed a boxed Snow Leapord on the machine. And it says the download of the Boot camp drivers cannot continue because they are not available. But at that point I have not inserted a windows disk, so how does it know i have XP?
So it appears I am limited to Windows 7? And where are the Windows 7/Boot Camp Drivers? On the OS disk?
Finally, since I have necer considered Windows 7 before, I assume there are no compatability issues with mainstream applications that were running in XP?
    Thank you.

    You're welcome
Just remember to reformat the partition (bootcamp partition) to NTFS with the windows installer, ensure to pick the correct partition.
