WHere are the console logs in NW04 EP6?

I just installed WAS 640 Sp9 and EP6 with the latest patch and I cannot find the disp + server console logs?
Thanks
Jeremy

Hi all,
Sorry for the late response.
The WebAS Java 6.40 logs can be found in /usr/sap/<SID>/<INSTANCE>/j2ee/cluster/server<N>/log.
The /usr/sap/<SID>/<INSTANCE>/work directory contains the logs of the Startup Framework.
Best regards,
Vladimir

  • Where are the archived log?

I've set my server to archive mail logs every 7 days, but I cannot find where they are archived. I do not see anything other than the normal complement of log files in /var/log. Yes it has been more than a week. But where do they go and what are they called?

It appears that you're assuming rather more around the word "archive" than exists here.
The archives that you seek are (also) stored in the /var/log directory.
The log files use the extension .log, and the log archive files use extensions such as .bz2 or .gz, and the associated data compression schemes.
    The following shell command:
$ sudo find / -name ipfw -print
will show you all files with the substring ipfw in the filename. Which will show you a few files here and there on your disk that are related to the firewall, including the man pages, and the /var/log directory.
    But no secret archives.
Run some tests with the archive settings over a week or two, and watch what happens in the /var/log directory.

Try man syslog. I'm not sure where to look for all the keywords, but I got this to work first time:

  • IDM 8.x where are the access logs?

Running IDM on linux and want to know where to find the access logs that state who has logged into IDM.

    Hi Xoth-
Are you able to log into the IDM admin interface as configurator and reach the "Reports" tab? You should then be able to run a "Today's Activity" report or a "Weekly Activity" report, which will show you who's logged into IDM during a specified period of time. You can customize the report(s) as necessary.
You're not going to be able to find a simple access log that shows logins into IDM, such as what you would have with an LDAP server, for example. I believe you'll need to run a report as I described above.

  • Where are the Adapter Log Files?

    Hello All,
I have an message that just isn't being loaded by the receiving business system and I'd like to examine the receivers log files for additional details to help me debug the problem.  I don't know where to look yet.  Perhaps the group can offer it's collective advice.
Here's the details of the problem I'm tackling.....
I have a 3rd party system that's trying to send a purchase requisition to an SAP Business System via XI.  The message is received by XI correctly.  XI correctly performs the transformation and identifies the message interface and selects correct receiver for the message.  XI communicates with the receiving business system via the appropriate communication channel.
The message "fails" in the receiving system with the following error:
HTTP server code 500 reason Internal Server Exception explanation Error parsing of SOAP header.
That's not particularly enlighting?  What exactly about the SOAP header didn't the receiving system like?  Perhaps if I could examine a log file on the receiving system, I could figure out what was preventing the message from being loaded.
A review of TCode SM21 and ST22 on the receiving system - show no errors
The message is being sent to an HTTP receiver channel on an SAP Business System.  The URL being posted to looks something like this: http://host:port/sap/xi/engine?type=receiver
That's the URL for the local integration engine's pipeline on the receiving SAP business system, right?  SXMB_MONI on the receiving system doesn't show an errors because the SOAP header could not be interpreted.  What other log files would I examine on the receiver system to see an error in message parsing?
Thanks for your help!  Points will be gladly awarded

    Hi,
You can look into the Message Display Tool.
    <b>http://server:javaport/MessagingSystem/monitor/montior.jsp</b>
This link will lead you to see the entire SOAP message that is actually sent out of XI and received by XI . You can also see the Adapter Log on this link.

  • Where are the apache logs?

I need to view the apache logs. How and where do I access them in XE?
Whoever designed Apache to be hidden inside the database and accessable only through db packages needs to be spanked. If there is a good argument for hiding it all away in the db I'd love to hear it! Why make life harder? It's so easy in Standard and Enterpise DB to configure apache and modplsql.

    OK David here goes,
I'm using ApEx 2.1 on Oracle Express DB.
I export an application, that works fine. I now want to import it again into the same instance as a copy with a new Application Id. I start the import wizard, click on load and then I get
"Page can not be found" error.
    I've followed the threads
import application - wwv_flow_accept page not found and ora-904
Page not found after import of application
but I have no idea of how to access the Web server Logs in Oracle Express which is mentioned in the above threads.
I've just had a look at the import repository and each time I tried to import the file it loaded with 2,065,528 bytes.(i.e. 3 times)
The actual file size is 4,334 Kb so it seems the import falls over half way each time.
Any ideas on where to start trouble shooting?
    thanks for your response

  • Where are the console launcher profiles saved (x-fi)

Everytime i install new drivers, all my equalizer settings get erased. and i have equalizer profiles for each band..
does anynone know where these are stored on win7 64bit, or any OS. I kind of want to back them up
thx in advance for any help

Since this was a question I had too, and Google brought it up as the 1st hit for the search parameter "creative console launcher where equalizer settings saved", I thought I'd post the answer for future reference.
    Using Win 7 Pro x64
    Look here:
    C:\ProgramData\Creative\CADI\Preset
    For this data file:
    PCI_BUS1102-5-2C1102-EC00U{1}.PCI+VEN_1102&DEV_0005&SUBSYS_002C1102&REV _00+4&1B00B4D9&0&484.dat
I found that when I created a test preset called EQ Test, saved it, and then exited CCL, the Date Modified stamp changed to the current date and time.
That's more than likely the file to backup so you don't have to re-enter EQ settings. Like a lot of you, this issue has been driving me nuts when you have something tweaked just right. Creative Labs UI developers need to think a little harder when creating these types of programs.

  • Console logs filling up - EP6

    Hi,
We are currently on EP6 - sp2, and during the past month we have noticed the console logs filling up very quick.
Last week the file was on 3 GB.
Seems like the debugger has been switched on.
We did not switch it on.

    Hi Amol,
    Thanks for replying.
I could not find the options u mentioned.
    I am on EP6 - sp2 and not NW04.
When i open the Visual Admin tool and go to
"Server - Services", i only see Log and Logviewer.
I also tried from within the Portal ie.
"Monitoring - Logging Console - Configuration Mode"

  • SUDO is causing entries in the console log. A Virus?

    Hello,
I was looking through my OSX installation and I found this mysterious file placed in my Application Support Folder in my library:
    username/library/application support/7103555
It is named "7103555" and it is a Unix Executable File (according to "Get Info")
I am worried it might be a virus. I don't recall putting it there. The only time I used terminal so far was to open a Profile Manager for Mozilla Thunderbird. I see that it mentions PrinterNotification and I do recall installing an HP printer driver. Is that where it might have come from. Is this normal? May I delete it? Should I reset something back in console? I am not sure what to do here.
    Should I be concerned?
    Thank you for any advice.
This is what it looks like when I open it:
    cd /System/Library/SystemConfiguration/PrinterNotifications.bundle/Contents/MacOS
    # SUDO is causing entries in the console log making me believe
    # that it's not getting run correctly. I am removing SUDO from the
    # command lines.
    #sudo ./makequeues -u
    #sudo ./makequeues -r
    ./makequeues -u;./makequeues -r&
    exit 0

    Mulder,
    <<sarcasm mode on>>
You got me there: I can't even spot a simple shell script and figure out what it does and why. Nor could I explain it in plain 'Merican English to poor ol' rainforest. Nope, I must have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about.
    <<sarcasm mode off>>
HINT: This is well within my area of expertise.
To quote one of your compadres, who "borrowed" it from answers.com:
"computer virus n. A computer program that is designed to replicate itself by copying itself into the other programs stored in a computer. It may be benign or have a negative effect, such as causing a program to operate incorrectly or corrupting a computer's memory."
A little further on in the same page:
    "Virus
Software used to infect a computer. After the virus code is written, it is buried within an existing program. Once that program is executed, the virus code is activated and attaches copies of itself to other programs in the system. Infected programs copy the virus to other programs."
    and
"Viruses Must Be Run to Do Damage
A virus is not inserted into data. It is a self-contained program or code that attaches itself to an existing application in a manner that causes it to be executed when the application is run."
On to Leap-A, from the description in Macworld (edited for brevity and clarity):
"...[W]hen you try to launch the newly-infected application, an apparent bug ... in the code prevents it [the application] from launching. But, ... a lot just happened:
A Spotlight search for the most-recently-used user-owned applications is run, and ... up to four of those programs at a time are infected...
The above process will repeat each time you try to launch an infected application."
The process described above fully conforms to the definition. Therefore, your, uh, "1337" assertion is wrong: Leap-A IS a virus.
    -Wayne
PS I'll even make a more radical assertion: The first OS X viruses were written in 1983 by Fred Cohen. My source? Professor Cohen (after all, he invented the computer virus), who told me, "the first viruses written for the original experiments run on current Mac OSX systems without even a recompilation."

  • Where is the mail.log in Leopard

I can't find the mail.log in the console logs. Where is it?

I don't see anything in /var/log named mail.log. What am I looking for?
The details in Mail Connection Doctor would be perfect if they are logged somewhere. I'm fairly new to Apple and see they log just about everything else.
I'm having intermittent password issues with Mail where it does not connect to the mail server and I have to enter my password even though it's stored in the keychain. I'd like to see a connection log that I can look over to try and find the problem. I think it's a problem with my ISP. The error does not happen on a regular basis and I've never had Connection Doctor running when it has happened and thought there might be a mail log somewhere.

  • Will the console log show a history of random shutdowns?

My macbook has suddenly started the random shutdown problem. It started a couple of days ago, I'd had no problems up until then. At one point today it was shutting down immediately on waking from sleep, and then would only stay on for about two minutes with the fans racing before, bang, off it would go. I left it alone in exasperation, then returned to try again, and this time it lasted around an hour before shutting down repeatedly again. I will need to take it home to the UK to my local Apple service centre and I am worried that if it doesn't actually shut down in front of them when they have it they will tell me there is no problem and won't repair it. I know that this macbook has the RSS issue now but it really is random, so can I prove it from the console log? I looked through this just now and of course most of it means nothing to me but I did notice that there was a line saying "cause of last shutdown -72" occuring many times since this started. Does anyone know what this refers to and will it show that the problem is definitely happening?

What does the holding the button down trick do?
From the Apple article I referenced in your earlier thread:
"If your MacBook is in a state where it will not remain on long enough to install the update, wait for the issue to reproduce itself. Once the MacBook has turned itself off, turn the computer on the by holding the power button down. Keep the button down until you hear a single long tone. Once you hear the tone you can release the button, install the recommended updates, and restart as you would expect."
Allegedly, this throttles the CPU to 1 GHz.
And I am slightly worried that a2dox says that the
problem returned even after the repair..!
Different experiences for different people, during the period when Apple had not yet figured out the problem. Their contract repair facility was doing different repairs, some getting heat sink replacements, some logic board replacements, some both, and, later, some a differently designed heat sink. When one of those repairs didn't fix the problem, they would do another.

  • Suspicious activity in the console log

I was looking at my Macbook Pro's console log and there are some suspicious items in there.
    For example:
sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder , IP Address changes, websites I’ve never visited, and something called x-terminal that keeps popping up on my desktop.
I have only used my Macbook for internet browsing and have never run or entered any computer codes in the console log.
Is there an explanation? Is it possible that any of the above could be run without me doing anything?

try upgrading to at least 10.4.4 of mac OS as there may be an issue with 6.0.3 running on 10.3.9...that might fix it
