Where are the export options?

I just updated to the latest InDesign CC version. (10.2.0.69)
And when I try to export a file there are no options to choose the export format (PDF / JPG / EPS / IDML etc)?

Nope, I always do that and it didn't help.
But now I removed and installed the full InDesign program again from scratch – and it works...
Just very annoying and time consuming. Must be some bug in the latest update, because it happened right after that.
(Another strange thing I noticed was that you couldn't any longer import a picture into a frame, you had to import it into a new frame...)

You can disable notifications on a per-file basis. Please see View a file's tracking information in the Adobe Send Getting Started document.

Where are the export codecs ?

On a MacPro (at the office), we have Final Cut Pro 6 (Final Cut Studio 2), an AJA Kona Capture Card and Adobe After Effects CS4.
In FCP there are a lot of QT export codecs. Codecs that I did not find in the export settings menu in After Effects.
f.e. except "no compression" or "animation" there is no codec in AE for export a video with alpha. In FCP I have TGA+ or ProRes 4444.
How can I enable these codecs in AE ?

Ahem, you do not export, you render via the Render Queue. Please read the help on how to set up correct output module settings and where to find the options.

Where are the job options saved?

We work in a writing group that is in several states and we're trying to document our current processes. We'd like to have access to each others job options files but we're not sure where they are located and how they are saved. One group is using FM 9 and another is FM 8, and the job options seem to be different. Is there a way to save the joboptions from FM 9?

Yes, the Distiller joboptions. We are using Distiller 9, 8, and 7 that comes with the Adobe Acrobat software. We are all on Windows XP and 7. I'm not very familiar with the joboptions, so I'm not an expert on how all of this works.
One writer said she is using the PDFX4 2007 job option, which appears to be the default with Framemaker 9. I think these files are hidden and only the customized options can be saved.

I moved from CS2 on windows to elements 6 on mac, and I can't find the blending options. Like, on CS2(and on CS and CS3) when you double click a layer, it'll bring up a window where you can add things to that layer, like a drop shadow, Bezel, gradiants, strokes and so on. It was an extremely useful feature. How can I get that on elements? Maybe I'm not looking in the right place. Thanks

Where are the accessibility options for the "Down-Level" items

I have an animation I've created (that I haven't cleared with my client yet, so I, unfortunately, cannot share a link). However, the client is government and there is a strict requirement for 508 compliance or "Accessibility." I have been able to get alt tags throughout the main animation with no problems and tabindexing too. The agency is still using IE8 with Chrome as their solution to newer HTML5 content. Because of this we have experienced that most will look at the product in IE8 first. This brings me to requiring a "Down-Level" page. On this page I have placed an image with a description to upgrade, but the image MUST have an alt tag. How can I accomplish this? There is no Accessibility area in Down-level and in making varying entries to the "index_preloader.js" file I have been unsuccessful (I've tried title: '...', and alt: '...' and ['...'] and many other combinations. Please help!
I wish I could share the link. I am willing to run a web based remote session using Join.me or similar, if you'd like to take a look.

Where are the print options, after selecting print it says to select a theme from print options, but no print options appear

On macbook pro - I cannot print from the iphot library as it says I need to select a theme from print options, but the print options will not appear after selecting print

To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 or later they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List.

If you are still having issues with Firefox 29, you should try the suggestions given by me in the thread that ikeepbees linked to to restore the functionality of Firefox 28 on Firefox 29. If you don't like the way that works out, I would rather you switch to an alternative browser rather than stay on v28 that will soon become outdated and insecure.

I cant help people find more suitable solutions to the ones being proposed by the mods that dont work. Only real option is to stop using FF and use alternatives that may or may not be based on the FF core engine
Not to sound mean here, but I don't think there's any other options other than what everyone else (including me) has provided
*Stay on v29 and customize it using Classic Theme Restorer and other add-ons
*Go back to v28 or lower (this will open you up to security holes if you stay on a version after it's outdated and insecure.
*Switch to an alternative browser like Pale Moon.
I use Pale Moon as my secondary (am actually using it now) and it's really nice. Slick and clean!
Maybe we need to start up a proper petition to help the developers understand whats realy happening here as they dont seem to give a hoot at this point. Problem is who or how to deliver all the signatures if its successfull
Developers don't roam this forum as it's been said many times. IMO (as a user, not a Moderator) I think a petition could be a good idea. I read something about someone sending a petition to HP for some reason. I don't exactly remember the company/reason but I saw it.

Where are the installation options in TCS2 installer ?

I have installed TCS2 and never saw a step where I can define which filters and other options I would like to have installed, just the option to install the full FM9 product. Am I missing something here ? I need to import SVG files into my documents but the import filter is apparently not installed.

There never was a trial version of FCP7. The application was only ever sold as part of the Final Cut Studio suite of applications. You might still find copies on eBay.

Where are the videos taken by iphone stored in iphoto?

I've taken a number of videos and still photos with my iphoto but only the still photos appear in Iphoto. Where are the visdeos stored and how can I retrieve them?

By default everything you import into iPhoto is stored in the iphoto library - What do you mean by "how do I retreive" them?
To use videos in iMovie launch imovie and import the videos to iMovie
To use them with other programs select them in iPhoto and export with kind = original (see the user tip on exporting for more information on the current options in exporting)
What exactly are you haveing problesm with and what exactly do you want to accomplish?

Hi everyone I'm an iMovie newbie,
I finalized my iMovie project. I am using iMovie 9.0.9 by the way. I can't seem to locate the movie files when I go to upload my video to YouTube. I also noticed that the files for my previous videos are gone as well. For now, I'm exporting using QuickTime, but that is taking way too much time and I have never had to do this before. I waited an hour for my project to finalize, where are the files? Where can I find them?

I tried the MPEG STREAMCLIP option and like yourself exported to QuickTime/Apple Intermediate Codex @ 100% quality (you can also export in DV mode with much the same results) - it worked fine but file sizes trebled and quality reduced (you can also. As you say its also a pain to have to go though another process. To be able to do it inside imove is a much better option (thanks to tjworld for that, who would have thought of doing that!!!) Surely this will be something Apple have to sort out in the next upgrade. So pleased that I can continue using the Zi6 as it's a really smart little camera - even though mine is pink one (the camera that is!) This is the first time I've used a discussion stream so thanks again all for the help

Where are the older BIOS versions gone?

A few weeks back, I've upgraded the BIOS on my Pavilion G6 1001sq to the latest version (F66). I noticed that the laptop is running considearbly hotter since then and I want to revert to an older BIOS version. When I go to the updates page on the HP website and click on "older versions available" I can only see the F66 version on the page I'm directed to ( http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/previousVersions?softwareitem=ob-115746-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&os=4... ), although a long list with many versions was available till recently. Where are the older versions gone?

Unfortunately, I do not know where they have gone. HP is working on issues with the suport and driver servers at the moment.
Since your notebook does have the UEFI Diagnostics installed, you should be able to rollback to the previous version that was installed. Use the firmware management option to do that.

I just replaced a canon printer that died that had the concept of PROFILES, so that I could setup a PROFILE for each type of printing, i.e. 4X6 photos/documents/5X7 photos. So it was easy for our family to print, they would pick each setting.
Now with latest driver for 8600 there are NO way to save a set of settings for a printer. I have seen some old discussions on this but I just can't believe HP doesn't have this type of functionality in their drivers. I don't need the ePrint and all the other bogus stuff installed with the 8600 driver, but I DO NEED the ability to save different sets of printing options so I don't have to remember, borderless or not, landscape or not, etc and keep wasting photo paper/ink/regular paper with incorrect options.
Here is another posting with similar points -> Customers are NOT getting full print functionality. We don't care about the extra software, it is minimal. Full functionality includes the ability to create profiles for different printing situations so that the user can easily choose that profile (and therefore all the myriad settings for that profile). What HP has done is give us ONE profile, essentially, and every time you want to do something different, you have to change that ONE profile. How is that helping?
As I said, if I want to switch from a normal printing job (e-mail, web page, etc.) which uses my ONE setting, and then want to print a 4x6 photo, I have to remember to change at least 6 different settings. With the shortcut, I would select my "borderless photo" shortcut, and it would automatically switch paper trays, size, color, quality, you name it. Now you force me to change that each and every time.
If someone can explain why this is considered full functionality I would be extremely grateful.

I am sorry you are having trouble with your print experience.
I am going to make some assumptions here, which could be wrong in your case, but might help others. Since you mention printing from Windows7 and ePrint in the same thread, can I assume you are trying to print using the HP ePrint driver for windows (www.hp.com/go/eprintsoftware) ? The ePrint driver also comes preinstalled on all HP laptops and pcs now, so maybe you made a recent pc purchase and therefore have the ePrint driver installed?
The goal of the ePrint windows driver currently has a lot less to do with providing the hundreds of print features and settings that the full featured, product specific print drivers provide. The goal is to enable customers to be able to print to any recent or new HP printer through a number of different connection paths from a single installed print driver / print queue. Once the ePrint driver is installed, printing with that driver will dynamically find direct network printers, cloud enabled printers, public print locations, direct wireless printers, etc., and create the correct print format depending on the print path taken. If the printer is ePrint cloud enabled and has a good internet connection, the printer and the pc do not have to be in the same location. For example, you can print from home to your printer at work. You can send photos of the kids to your mom's printer in another state, etc. The ePrint solution is also good for the traveling worker who just wants to send the occasional print job to the nearest network or wireless direct printer without having to find and install another print driver for each new printer. One driver, one queue and you can print to any recent or new HP printer.
The ePrint driver has a few important print settings that customers may want to use (copies, duplex, grayscale, etc). More may be added over time depending on demand.
BTW, because the ePrint driver does not have a ton of print settings to handle, the rendering of print jobs is as simple and efficient as possible and should not bog down your pc.
If you want all the bells and whistles in the print driver experience and just want to print to a single printer you can download and install the product specific print driver from hp.com
I hope that helps out a few people who may be wondering what the purpose of ePrint is!!

Convert pdf to word doc-but don't have the export option.

I want to convert a pdf (that I got from an email) into a Word doc so I can edit it the way I want to. However, for some reason now I don't have the 'Export' option in my File drop down list.
Funny thing is, I've converted the document once already and have entirely forgotten how I did it obviously!
I've made so many changes in my first conversion I want to start over.
why don't I have the 'Export' option? Or ... when I do a 'save as' and chose 'word doc' it only does a copy - paste type save - where I can't make any changes. It's like it puts it into a text box or something.

This usually happens when you're dealing with a very poor quality scanned document that doesn't have enough data for the Acrobat OCR engine to actually process.
As for Acrobat 6.0 Pro, I don't believe the Save as Word function was introduced until version 8.0, but it's been a few years and the memory of Acrobat 6 has faded a bit.
