Where are the font preferences in Safari 7.0.3?

I am trying to move to Mavericks after many months of resistance.  There are many obstacles still to overcome, but now Safari is seeming strange and I realize it is using different fonts that I am use to  How can I adjust the font preferences? Thank you.

There are alternatives and it's always a good idea to have a backup browser installed.

  • Help, where are the render preferences in Adobe Photoshop CS6

Okay, I admitt, .... I am an idiot that is new to Adobe Photoshop.
But help the new girl out, here.... Please...
Where are the render preferences in Adobe Photoshop Extended CS6.
I searched Adobe Help in Dutch already but they point me towards options that doesn't excist.
Maybe they were there in Adobe CS5 and I am reading an older version of the documentation...
But in CS6 I can only find the option Render and no Render Preferences...
    Thanks !!

Adobe changed the way video is rendered in CS6. Adobe Media Encoder in now used in CS6 only a subset of the Adobe's full Adobe Media Encoder is included in CS6 is a dll. I do not think you can add new Rendering Presets however you can change some setting when you use the supplied Reddening Presets.  Perhaps if you have the Adobe suite and have the full Adobe Media Encoder you can create some presets and add them to Photoshop Rendering presets.  I seem some compliants about CS6 Quicktime rendering presets lack the power of CS5.  The Rendering presets seem to be stored in sub folders in "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit)\Presets\Video\Adobe Media Encoder" and "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6\Presets\Video\Adobe Media Encoder"

  • Where are the swipe preferences for calendar located

    Hi
Where are the swipe preferences for calendar located?  Is it two fingers swipe down to goto the next month?
    Thank you in advance.

I don't know that there are any preferences for setting what swiping does in the Calendar.
Two finger swipes left and right skip months in month view. They skip weeks in week view. Two fingers up and down scroll up and down (which does nothing in month view).

  • Where are the fonts!? What the...

    Hi everyone,
I've just received my shipment of Adobe CS4 Design Premium for Windows and immediately installed it on my new laptop. The school I attend works a lot with typefaces like Optima, Frutiger, Helvetica etc.
Here's my problem. Where are these fonts? I was told that they're standard on a Mac, but that Adobe CS4 introduces these specific fonts to Windows. Instead, I have the lame *** assortment of boring and frankly rather useless Windows fonts. I paid a lot of money for this product and I am already irritated because I need these fonts - and they're not here. Or are they? Nowhere on the web was this denied. I got the assurance that these fonts are included. Sounds like BS now...
If anyone can help me out, this would be great. And what would really be awesome is if someone can perhaps send me these fonts (for Windows) via email. Basically all the fonts that are standard on a MAC (Optima, Helvetica etc.) and were supposed to be included here.
That would really be great. [email protected]
    Thanks.
PS: The reason I won't switch over to a Mac is because all my programs are for Windows. Switching over to a Mac will be too costly and I can essentially do the same work on a Windows computer nowadays as a Mac.

If you buy fonts from Adobe, the standard license allows use on up to 20 computers (you can buy site licensing if you need more) and from the license:
14.7. Font Software. If the Software includes font software --
14.7.1 You may use the font software with the Software on Computers as described in Section 2 and output
the font software to any output device(s) connected to such Computer(s).
14.7.2 If the Permitted Number of Computers is twenty, you may download the font software to the
memory (hard disk or RAM) of two output devices connected to at least one of such Computers for the
purpose of having the font software remain resident in such output device, and of two additional such
output devices for every multiple of twenty represented by the Permitted Number of Computers.
14.7.3 You may take a copy of the font(s) you have used for a particular file to a commercial printer or
other service bureau, and such service bureau may use the font(s) to process your file, provided such
service bureau has a valid license to use that particular font software.
14.7.4 You may convert and install the font software into another format for use in other environments,
subject to the following conditions: A computer on which the converted font software is used or installed
will be considered as one of your Permitted Number of Computers. Use of the font software you have
converted will be pursuant to all the terms and conditions of this agreement. Such converted font software
may be used only for your own customary internal business or personal use and may not be distributed or
transferred for any purpose, except in accordance with Section 4.4 of this agreement.
14.7.5 You may embed copies of the font software into your electronic documents for the purpose of
printing and viewing the document. If the font software you are embedding is identified as "licensed for
editable embedding" on Adobe’s website at
http://www.adobe.com/type/browser/legal/embeddingeula.html, you may also embed copies of that font
software for the additional purpose of editing your electronic documents. No other embedding rights are
implied or permitted under this license.
This is actually pretty generous. The standard license from Linotype limits you to 5 workstations, but allows you to transfer the font for output at the printer provided thay don't need to do any editing, in which case they need their own license. Embedding in PDF is also permitted. Modification of the font (including conversion), on the other hand, is completely prohibited. Other foundries and distributors will have their own licensing restictions/requirements, and your license for the same font might vary depending upon where you purchase it. Some licenses prohibit commercial use (this is true of most so-called "free" fonts) unless you upgrade to a more expensive commercial license, making them utterly useless to a professional designer. In short, you need to read the agreement to find out what is and isn't allowed.

  • Where are the settings/preferences for firefox?

I am trying to find the settings/preferences for firefox but I updated my firefox and now cannot find them.

Why didn't I think of that ....    In any event,  I found the answer.  The issue lies within the "automatic proxy detection" selection.  If its selected and OSX cannot determine the proxy, this causes a cascading failure on upgrade websockets using ws:// protocol headers.  You need to uncheck the automation, and the manual HTTP and HTTPS proxy settings will be used for all protocol headers that originate from HTTP/S including the WS handshake upgrade and connection protocol.

  • Where are the system preferences for internet access?

I had to re-install 10.6.2 with a disk formatting... all went well and I manage to go online .
But I notice that my old system preferences are not back in place... I don't have all the connection settings I used to have and in which I had a manual IP address for a school ethernet network connection.
    Where can I find them?
Can I just drag them back into my computer?
    Thanks for your help.
    JP

If you have a backup of your entire previous system, you could try looking at /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.network.identification.plist . I'm not 100% sure that's where the information would be stored, but it looks promising. If you think you would recognize the IP address when you see it, open that file from your backup with a text editor and scan through for the IP address. Then enter it in your network settings.
If you don't think you'd know what you were looking at, you could try moving that file from the backup to the new system, but I'd take some precautions. Move the newer copy of that file to the desktop temporarily, then restart and see how things work. If anything goes wonky, put it back, replacing the older file. If after a few days all is well, trash it.

  • Where are the font caches located?

Trying to trash my font caches but cant find them.

It moves to the Trash all font cache.
Not quite. It clears any and all cache files of the user account you logged into in Safe Mode. It doesn't do anything to the system cache files.
All font caches normally stored in /Library/Caches/com.apple.ATS/(uid)/ , where (uid) is a user ID number such as 501 (Mac OS X v10.4 or later)
I know that info came from one of Apple's own Knowledge Base articles, but it's completely out of date. The user font cache files haven't been in that location since Tiger. All font cache files (along with Font Book's database) are now deeply buried in a hidden folder. Part of the name may be different from Mac to Mac, but they are now here:
    /private/var/folders/3K/3Kdt7kk4Ghim10j+GZwim++++TI/-Caches-/com.apple.FontRegis try/
Don't try and edit anything in here yourself. Use the command below to clear font cache files.
Close all running applications. From an administrator account, open the Terminal app and enter the following command. You can also copy/paste it from here into the Terminal window:
    sudo atsutil databases -remove
This removes all font cache files. Both for the system and all user font cache files. After running the command, close Terminal and immediately restart your Mac.

  • Where are the library/preference folders?

I changed to Lion.  Because the OS I started from had corrupt files I opted to partition and create a clean instal; and because of the corruption on the old system I do not want to use file migration.  The only two things I need to move are my .plist files for iTunes and iPhoto, which I can find on the old system but not on Lion.
I unlocked the hidden files but I can't find the library or the prefernce folder in which to place the old .plist files.  Where is it?  Does anyone know?

    Hi captfred
I was looking for an answer to my question and found it in the discusstion group regarding library prefs. (2011)
    Thanks
Open a finder window, on the menubar, Finder > Go > hold the option key down and library will appear. > select.

  • Where are the FCP preference files???

Is it possible to delete the preferences in FCP 5 without the program opening? If so how do I get to there?

Get yourself fcprescue for your version of fcp.
It trashes all the prefs (which are stashed in a couple of places.) It also allows you to save a good set. Then it's a matter of two clicks to trash bad prefs and put your good ones back.
    It's a must have.

  • Where are the fonts???

    Okay, I'm confused.
I downloaded a whole bunch of fonts (from http://www.webpagepublicity.com/free-fonts.html and http://www.dafont.com) and I can see them when I open FontBook, but when I go to Word they aren't in my list of fonts. And some of them don't even appear in Library>Fonts. I don't get it; what am I doing wrong?
      Mac OS X (10.4.9)

    Hi CherieTomato,
you have to reset the Word font cache before the new font becomes available. You can find it here: /Users/Your_Name/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Office Font Cache (11). Just drag that file to the trash and restart Word.

  • Where are the cache preferences?

Hi I am trying to find the preferences for Shake and see if I can solve a riddle why I can not get my thumb nails in the tree scripts to show up. There was a post from Shake people to change the cache settings and other setting in the preferences. Please where can I find them... I have looked . Usually in Menu but nope

    It seems Adobe Bridge CS5 > Preferences > Cache offers a »Purge Cache«-button.

  • Where are the finder preferences stored?

I have an entry for a deleted folder in the "Places" section of the finder screen.  I am unable to remove it.  Rebooting doesn't help.

when in finder, go to finder then preferences in the menu bar at the top of the main display.

  • Where are the security preference files in SL?

Some apps (e.g. iTunes) keep asking me if I want to Allow or Deny incoming connections when they're launched.
In the Security > Advanced window/list these apps definitely are properly set (i.e. to allow/green) but some apps still keep asking me if I want to allow or deny every time they are launched.
I deleted the com.apple.security.plist file, but after rebooting, the list remains for the Allow/Block apps... as well as the Security > Advanced boxes either being checked or not.
So... it appears there must be more than one plist file (i.e. com.apple.security.plist file) that I must delete to reset the Security Advanced window.
I have also deleted apps from the Security > Advanced list (via the ' - ' button just below the list) and for the first launch of these apps the display of the dialog box asking to allow or deny disappears, but upon the second launch they again display a dialog box asking whether I want to allow or deny connections. And yes, I looked and they are properly set as to whether to allow or block (green or red respectively).
This began after one of the last updates many months ago. I'm only now posting because it's getting on my nerves and I haven't been able to figure it out.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.
    Ron
