Where are the MIDI Apple Loop files stored?

Am I the only one that wonders where the MIDI files are stored for GarageBand? The ones installed by iLife, the Jam Pack additions and any custom MIDI loops I create are nowhere to be found. Spotlight doesn't show any MIDI loop name I search and I have spent an entire day scrounging through just about every folder on my Mac looking for these puppies! Does ANYONE know where these files are stored?!!?

Alright, then...
You appear to be correct, in as much as the developer specification for the Core Audio Format has provisions for a "MidiChunk". Thank you so much for at least pointing me in the right direction. I still couldn't find any explanation for this issue on the website you referred me to (and had previously visited), but I did find a small explanation in an obscure Apple Tech Document.
What I would still like to know is:
1. How do you access the MIDI data within the .caf files? I haven't found any application that will extract or access that data.
2. When I create custom MIDI sequences within GarageBand and save them to the Loop Library (e.g. a piano track named "hoity-toity-supercilious-wankersequencedeluxe"), they show up in the Loop Browser but I still can't locate the actual file anywhere on my Mac. I know I can just open up a GarageBand file in Logic and then export the MIDI file out from there. But, I would REALLY like to just be able to find the file to begin with and skip that extra stage.
If I could just find the answers to these burning questions. Oh, and (singing) if I only had a brain!
Thanks again for getting me this far!

  • Where are the Adobe Story app files stored on my computer?

I can't afford to subscribe (especially to a program I already paid for), but I really need the files that I was working on in Story offlline before the subscription-only lockdown.  I've already talked to tech support who said there's no way I can access the Story AIR application on my PC, but I absolutely need those files, so I will dig through XML or whatever format to get the info I need.
    Please help!

    Hey,
At the moment I keep getting an error saying "The application could not be installed because the installer file is damaged. Try obtaining a new installer file from the application author".
I haven't fixed this problem yet though I've tried downloading the AIR3.3 like the other discussions say, though I don't think I even had AIR3.4 on my computer and it was working fine a month or so ago. Having said that I really want the offline files from Adobe Story as well so I can keep working on them whilst I try and fix the above problem. Any help in this area would be appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Where are the Pick/Unpick/Reject Flags stored?

    Hello all,
On LR4.0 I went through the process of creating a new catalog and importing the 3.6 cat with the proverbial error at the end of the update and have been working with that cat in LR4.  I've added around 300 new images to that 4.0 cat and have done some Pick/Reject flagging as well as Star Ratings.
I've just moved to the LR4.1 RC1 and successfully upgraded my original LR3.6 catalog without any errors. Now I have added/synchronized my LR4.1 RC1 cat to add in place the folders of images I've added that have the Pick/Reject flags.  I see the Star Ratings but not any of the Pick/Reject flags on those folders.  I do see the flags on the images that were updated with the catalog though.
Where are the Pick/Unpick/Reject Flags stored?  In the catalog only?  In the sidecar XMP file?  Both? Doing a Ctrl-S doesn't seem to make a difference.
Thanks in advance for any feedback.

  • (261936172) Q general Where are the Web Service source files?

Q <general> Where are the source files for a Web Service created
with WebLogic Workshop stored? How do I deploy the Web Service
on a different WebLogic Server? Is there a way to bundle the
Web Service project files manually to distribute them?
Is there a way to configure the directory where Workshop stores
    the files?
ANSWER: (by Adam Fitzgerald, [email protected]) The .jws files are stored
in the project folder. This can be located on a local system, although by default
they are in c:\bea\wlserver700b\sample\workshop\applications. The Web Service
structure is understood by WLS 7.0 so by archiving the appropriate folder you
can transfer the Web Service in its entirety from one deployment to another.

  • In Authoring Enviroment where are the results of a leaner stored?

In Authoring Enviroment when i go to change attribute value in test author and click "Result Storage"checkbox, i cannot fiind the place where are the test results been stored.
Can anyone help me in this regard? please
    Abdul Qadir (SHMA)

    Hello,
I am trying to figure out how to access the saved course and I am having trouble understanding the settings in the AE and locating the data in the provided tables as discussed.
1: What is the correct setting in the "Results Storage" and what does each selection mean?
2: Are there separate tables to be used if I am using AICC instead of SCROM? We are currently using AICC to allow multiple parts in the AE? (i.e. a PDF is the main data source and the user has to click the CONTUINE button to access the assessment)
3: What table allows me to view the final assessment scores or the inputted answers for the course?
Thank you for any help with these issues and any guidance will be greatly appreciated.
    Kind regards,
    Brandon Gabany

How are you moving the photos from your Phone to iPhoto?
    What version of iPhoto?
By default everything you import into iPhoto is stored in the iphoto library - What do you mean by "how do I retreive" them?
To use videos in iMovie launch imovie and import the videos to iMovie
To use them with other programs select them in iPhoto and export with kind = original (see the user tip on exporting for more information on the current options in exporting)

  • Where are my new Apple loops hiding?

    Hello all . . .
    I will probably learn that I am a complete idiot, but . . .
I just bought and installed my first Jam Pack loops: the Symphonic Orchestra loops. I am still with GB1 because what I really use is Logic Express 7. ( The Jam Pack box does say in tiny type that I need GB2 for the Symphonic package, which I didn't notice initially.)
What has happened is that 30-some new Symphonic software instruments have installed fine. I can use them in LExpress although not in GB, because (it appears) they need the EXSP24 sample player. Logic has it; Garage Band 1 doesn't. OK. Cool.
But wouldn't the advertised 2,000+ new loops be in here somewhere? Right now, they don't show up in the Loop Browser in either GB or LExpress. I've checked the Library > > > Apple Loops folder. It shows 1,006 loops in the folder, which sounds like the loops that came with GB1. The installation DVDs don't provide an option for simply dragging a folder of loops to the desktop, then to the GB Loop Browser for indexing. (Everything is submerged in the installation process.)
I don't mind buying an iLife upgrade with a later version of GB, if that's what I need to do. But I wonder if the loops aren't in here somewhere?
Thanks for any help to this bonehead!
    Rick

That was it! Perfect! Thank you!
    Thing o' beauty, in'it?
And did I mention I would probably feel like an idiot?
Naww, don't be silly, if you were an idiot my post would have been meaningless to you.
Glad it helped, and glad everything is working for you! Have fun.

  • Where are the contents of GPnP profile stored?

On my 3 node RAC setup using SCAN with GNS,
I renamed GPnP profile on one node , stoppped clusterware on that node and tried to restart it. The c/w started and GPnP profile file was automatically recreated with name pending.xml. The moment I changed the value of ASM_DISKSTRING parameter using SQL, pending.xml was automatically renamed to profile.xml and ASM_DISKSTRING value was updated in it. I presumed that GPnPd copied the profile from one of the other nodes.
Next I renamed the profile on all the nodes, stopped clusterware on one of the nodes and restarted it. But now again the same thing happened as earlier i.e. it was created as pending.xml and was renamed to profile.xml when updated via SQL. From where were the contents of the file read? Is it OLR?

    I am renaming ghome/gpnp/hostname/profile/peer/profile.xml
Following post explains all I did:
    http://oracleinaction.blogspot.in/2013/01/LOSEGPNPPROFILE.html
Pls also clarify why do we have gpnp profile in two locations?

  • DIsk Utility fail: Where are the "temporary back up files" ?

I was running out of space on my hard drive, so i freed up 50G by backing up and then deleting some photo and video files. I thought, like on a PC, i could run the disk utility to "erase free space" (and possible give me even more free G's) but it got stuck near the end, saying there was no longer enough disc space to continue. I deleted some more files, but it didn't help. Now my hard drive is COMPLETELY FULL (when I use inspector, it literally says "Available: Zero KB"). I think disk utility was making a temporary backup file, and that's what used up all of my free space (although I might be wrong), and sinbce it didnt finish the job, the files are still on the computer taking up unnecessary space. But now i have no idea where all of those files are! Where should they be stored? I need to free up some space ASAP! I'm a Graphic Designer, and I need this computer for work, asap.
Is there perhaps a free program that will show me a full look at my HD space, and say which files are taking up the most space, so that I can delete -or back up- accordingly? Or maybe one that will delete unnecessary cached files or something.... I'm in panic mode!
Thank you so much in advance for your time and help!

This is serious greek. Can you explain what I should do with this information, please?
Sorry, I hadn't looked at that in a while.
Open the Terminal app (in your Applications/Utilities folder). Be *very careful* with this app. It's a direct link into UNIX, the underpinnings of OSX, but without the protections of OSX.
In Terminal, the prompt looks like this: user-xxxxxx:~ <your name>$
(where <your name> is your short user name). It's followed by a non-blinking block cursor.
Copy the following after the prompt:
    sudo rm -f /var/root/Library/Caches/TemporaryItems/*
and press Return. It should then ask for your Admin password (which won't be displayed). Press Return again.
There may or may not be any messages displayed; you'll know it's done when you see the prompt again.
