Where are the startup messages logged? [solved]
Where is the startup output logged? I catch a glimpse of a red [FAIL] but it dumps to the login screen too quick and everything is cleared before I can read the error.

They aren't logged anywhere. though to read the message, you can try either of these options.

Where are the files and logs store in Mac while surfing internet?
Hi everyone,
I just switch over to Mac from windows recently. I was wondering where are all the temp. internet log and files store in Macbook Pro while surfing the internet. In windows its in temporary internet folder but how about Mac.
I do know we can clear the cache when in Safari. However does it really clear all the downloaded contents from internet?
All advise are welcome!
Thank you!!Not sure what you are looking for. The directory your download files into is specified in the safari preferences. Safari records some of its stuff (preferences, bookmarks, history, etc.) in ~/Library/Safari. Finally the caches are in ~/Library/Caches.

HT3529 Where are the older messages??
text from 5 days back are gone and no provision to load older. Only 4 messages total from this contact.
How do you pull up older messages and how do you set default to hold them on phone longer?Unfortunately, I do not know where they have gone. HP is working on issues with the suport and driver servers at the moment.
Since your notebook does have the UEFI Diagnostics installed, you should be able to rollback to the previous version that was installed. Use the firmware management option to do that.

Where are the users startup items physically located?
Hi all
I messed around with my login items as I had a startup problem (very slow startup). I 've deleted the Microsoft AU Deamon, now I want to reinstall it from a backup - but where is the thing???
Where are the users login items physically located?
Thanks

The physical login item process could be located any where. Your ~/Library/Preferences/loginwindow.plist initiates login applications or processes. -

Thanks for the information
Joel PèrezHi,
You should be able to find this information in chapter 4 (Managing Log Files) in the 9.0.4 admin guide at http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10464_05/core.904/b10376/log.htm#i1011108.
Table 4-1 lists the log file locations for each component.

Where are the e-mail settings?
Hi, I have an E72, I have set up a POP3 e-mail server and I can receive e-mails with no problem, but I cannot send any! Now, I know how to solve the problem, I simply have to change the outgoing port number to the new one given by my e-mail provider, but I CANNOT FIND WHERE ARE THE OUTGOING SERVER SETTINGS!
The E-mail -> Settings -> Mailbox name -> Mailbox settings tab only has one server setting in it, and it says "Server name". There are no separate settings for Incoming and Outgoing servers! Where can I change them? In the Advanced mailbox settings there is only one setting - for the port number, but again not a thing about which are my ingoing and outgoing servers.
Pls help.
Solved!
Go to Solution.thanks albyzas, thanks thetao.
I have the last version (3.21 I think) and I know where the in/out settings should be located, but here is no such thing under the "Advanced Mailbox Settings"! The only settings I have are the port number and the secure connection on/off. I have this problem since I bought the E72. Previously, I had E71 and it had the in/out settings there!
BTW the provider I use is listed automatically for my country, just below Hotmail, Gmail and Yahoo (I don't have to click "Other")
So I have some questions:
2) Delete and remake the mailbox. Don't use Nokia Messaging (their push service) by Declining the terms of service. Maybe that provides more control?
If I decline them, what client will I be using then?
3) Can you remove the email client? I hesitate suggesting that because some people have reported being unable to reinstall...but you can try if you feel daring.
If I remove it, how can I reinstall it later?
4) Do you recall when the problem started? If it happened after a firmware update, a hard reset ( *#7370# , default password 12345) will sometimes fix weird issues that occur after installing new firmware. Be sure to make a backup first.
The Problem started when my e-mail provider decided to change the numbers of their ports several months ago... -
Where are the promised "over 700" fonts?
The Adobe email announcing file and font sync said,
We're happy to announce that you can now sync the files and folders you store in Creative Cloud directly to your desktop with the Creative Cloud desktop app. Also, your membership now includes access to over 700 fonts from Typekit, which can be quickly and easily synced to your computer. [emphasis added]
So I eagerly logged into my TypeKit account, via Creative Cloud, and when I filter down to only the fonts for desktop use, there are only 205!
So where are the other 500 fonts Adobe just advertised? Here's the full message from Adobe:
We're happy to announce that you can now sync the files and folders you store in Creative Cloud directly to your desktop with the Creative Cloud desktop app. Also, your membership now includes access to over 700 fonts from Typekit, which can be quickly and easily synced to your computer.
Ready to begin? If you don’t already have the Creative Cloud desktop app, grab it from the Download Center—it’s free with your membership. If you already have it installed, just relaunch the app. Then go to the Files or Fonts panel to start syncing.
As you can see, it very clearly says "over 700 fonts from Typekit, which can be quickly and easily synced to your computer." And this couldn't be referring to just the TypeKit library because there were over 900 fonts in Typekit when this email went out. -
Where are the diagnostic reports, or why aren't there any?
Hello
I understand that under mavericks, diagnostic reports are supposed to be found either in
/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/ (System Diagnostic Reports),
or in
~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports (User Diagnostic Reports).
Unfortunately, even after a number of crashes, they aren't. While in my case, the system DiagnosticReports folder exists, but contains nothing but powerstats, in the user library, not even the folder is there.
So, either they are elsewhere, or they aren't being generated. In the first case, my question would be: Where are the diagnostic reports? In the latter, it would be: Why aren't there any (despite the system crashes)?
(A similar question is to be found here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/24773940#24773940 , but ended with an open question. I'm starting a new thread, because this old one is marked as answered.)
Thanks a lot. These are logs to help if a program crashes, or has other issues.
If there are no issues, no logs are produced.
See: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4063
Diagnostic and usage reports may include the following information:
Details about application or system not responding, application unexpectedly quitting, or kernel panics
Information about events on your computer (for example, whether a certain function, such as waking your computer, was successful or not)

Where are the reports generated by Setup Manager ????
The funny thing about Setup manager is that it seems there is nothing to view the reports generated ....
after defining a project including an extraction then a report on this extract then execute it .... evrything end without errors but where are the reports ????
i've checked my project : no buttons or link to see the reports ...
i've checked the log of the execution : no report. the only things is the really nice and useful message 'file transfer done ...'
i've even checked EBS but no report
I've checked also the jobs in OEM: nothing
how can i get the reports generated and view their content ????Click on View Executions link of project you executed (Here you can see all the executions related to that project. (Setup Manager -> Project -> View Executions)) -> Now Click on the execution name(Here you can see all the tasks of that project) -> Here Download link will be available if the task gets completed successfully

Where are the older BIOS versions gone?
Hi
A few weeks back, I've upgraded the BIOS on my Pavilion G6 1001sq to the latest version (F66). I noticed that the laptop is running considearbly hotter since then and I want to revert to an older BIOS version. When I go to the updates page on the HP website and click on "older versions available" I can only see the F66 version on the page I'm directed to ( http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/previousVersions?softwareitem=ob-115746-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&os=4... ), although a long list with many versions was available till recently. Where are the older versions gone?Unfortunately, I do not know where they have gone. HP is working on issues with the suport and driver servers at the moment.
