Where are the Windows Drivers?

Hi,
When I run Bootcamp 2.0 And try to partition the drive for Vista bootcamps says..."After you have installed and set up windows, insert your Mac OS X Leopard install disc to install additional drivers and other software for windows."
So I went looking on my install discs. I cant figure out where these Windows drivers are. Anyone know?

You can also find the drivers in the boot camp download page. Depending on your flavor of Windows (32bit or 64bit), you'll download different updates for Boot Camp 2.1.
Go here - http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/
On the upper right corner of the screen you will see the Software Updates section. Click on the appropriate link to download the file you need. The files that you download are Windows executables and should only be downloaded in Windows. They can also be run directly from the website, but clicking the Run button (instead of Save) after you click the appropriate download link.
Hope that helps!

I have an older Mac Pro (2006). I want to install Boot Camp and Windows. I have installed a boxed Snow Leapord on the machine. And it says the download of the Boot camp drivers cannot continue because they are not available. But at that point I have not inserted a windows disk, so how does it know i have XP?
So it appears I am limited to Windows 7? And where are the Windows 7/Boot Camp Drivers? On the OS disk?
Finally, since I have necer considered Windows 7 before, I assume there are no compatability issues with mainstream applications that were running in XP?
    Thank you.

    You're welcome
Just remember to reformat the partition (bootcamp partition) to NTFS with the windows installer, ensure to pick the correct partition.

Yes, the driver file at http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1398 allowed me to finally install my printer, but does Apple have _any idea_ how long it takes to download a 1.08GB file over a 1.5mbps DSL connection?
Never mind how much of my pricey new SSD is being consumed by the resulting 1.80GB of driver files all for _one_ printer driver that should maybe occupy 200K?
Or that the primary article on OS X printer drivers (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669) -- which does indicate that the Artisan 830 is supported -- does not mention or link to the driver file that's needed to make it work?
Or what a complete violation of Apple's "it just works" gestalt it is to be confronted with the above Catch-22 and to have to search the web and then go through all of the above to make a new laptop talk to a two-year-old printer?
Yes, my printer now works, and yes, Apple's Support Communities were instrumental in getting to this point. But spending all morning (plus download time) getting a printer driver installed tastes way too much like I paid for Apple and got Microsquish.

  • Where are the HP drivers?

    Hi,
Apple itself mentiones HP drivers for e.g. the HP DeskJet 6127, they say Version 3.3.1, besides the Gutenprint 5.1.3 drivers. (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306684)
Where are these HP drivers? I cannot find them, even after installation of all drivers from the Leopard DVD.
    Matthew

    Hi Matthew
    Yes, I know... and?
Thanks for your reply but if I try to install my printer (you guessed: a HP DeskJet 6127 , only the Gutenprint drivers are offered. And even if I select one of the *.plugins or *.drivers, nothing happens...
Ugly graphics and no duplex printing - far behind the printing capabilities I had under Tiger...
    Where is the improvement?

  • Where are the print drivers found?

I have a Brother HL 2040 laser printer. THe Brother website has a version 2.2 driver for this printer. I downloaded and installed. When I add the printer I keep getting version 1.4 driver.
Can someone tell me where are the drivers found on my iMac?
Also I am trying to get this to print via a Linksys wireless print server. Do I use the ip address for the print server or the printer when adding this.
I tried using the print server IP but I get a "printer paused" issue. I think I need the new print driver.
thanks in advance for any help.

I have not gotten the driver to update to the newest version. I deleted the Brother Folders as mentioned in the replies, no joy. No matter what I do it ends up 1.4 not 2.0.
Version 1.4 worked OK for a USB connection, so I went forward with trying to get the network connection going. By trying every combination available I got it to work.
What HP jetdesk-socket has to do with my printer...escapes me. But that combination with version 1.4 driver works.
I will leave well enough alone.
I have 2 other computer to update to SL.....maybe.

  • Where are the Mac Drivers for Windows 7 installation?

Where can i find the mac drivers for the windows 7 installation?

If you have a Mac with OS X Lion or Mountain Lion, they are available as a download. You can download them from Boot Camp Assistant (in /Applications/Utilities) or from the Apple site.
If you have a Mac with Leopard or Snow Leopard, they are included in the Mac OS X disc that came with your Mac or in the Snow Leopard DVD. However, as you are going to run Windows 7, you can find more recent drivers in the Apple site as Boot Camp Support Software, depending on the Windows editions your Mac supports > http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5634

  • Where are the bootcamp drivers?

Hi... My Bootcamp assistant keeps failing to save the WindowsSupport files to my USB flash drive, which seemingly resets the download - due to my sloooow internet, this is a major inconvenience.
I've been searching my computer for "WindowsSupport" "Bootcamp" etc., but find nothing.
    Where are they stored?

They are stored on Apple servers, in the cloud, and this has always been weak - poorly supported - crippled - to name just a few adjectives.
And it was first beta tested / introduced / suppose to be implemented - a full year ago in 10.6.6.
My iPod finds, actually finds, new updates for its apps. So it is a lack of intention and direction and mandate.
I assume you can't get to a store or other location that might be better able.
People are saying Boot Camp 4.01+ are better than Snow Leopard 3.x drivers but those do work for Windows 7 if you have access to DVD AND you don't have a Mac that came out in 2011. I wouldn't mind $9 but $30 for a set of drivers might be steep, to get 10.6.x DVD.

  • Where are the bootcamp drivers for an early 2007 imac? (Upgraded to leopard

The discs are Tiger discs, and when inserted into the mac (running xp), are shown to not contain the bootcamp drivers. Where can I download the drivers for this computer?

Is this link what you need? The drivers will be on your Leopard disks. I think your post states that you upgraded to Leopard.

  • HT3986 Bootcamp: Where are the network drivers?

    Hello All,
Just got my full copy of Windows 7 Home Premium Edition yesterday and installed it using boot camp. Seemed to go alright. Unfortunately, I can't get onto the internet from it. Doing the Windows trouble shooting, it looks like the drivers weren't installed. Okay, I'm sort familiar with this problem.
Looking on the Apple Boot Camp support, it seems I'm supposed to use my OS System Disk to get the required drivers. Well, this 2 month old MacBook Pro didn't come with a system disk. I thought system disks were a thing of the past with OS 7.
The other option I have is that I burned something to a CD during the installation process. Looking at this CD's contents, I see a folder marked "drivers". Excellent! But what is my next step?
In the "Boot Camp" folder are: autorun.inf, Boot Camp Installation & Set Up Guide.Pdf, BootCamp.xml, BootCamp64.xml, Documentation, Drivers, Setup.ex. Within the "Drivers" folder there are folders for Apple, Asix, Atheros, ATI, Broadcom, Cirrus, IDT SigmaTel, Intel, Marvell, MotorolaSetup.exe, NVidia and RealTek.
So, which drivers do I need and how do I get them onto the computer? And is this something I need to do from OS 7 or Windows7? The documentation says you just pop the CD in from Windows and follow the on-screen instructions. Nothing happened. Am I doing the process correctly?
    Thank you.
    Brian

The cited ANSWER needs some clarification. When you go to Finder -> Preferences, there are two places to ensure "Connected Servers" is enabled. The one under General tab will put the share icon on your desktop. The one under Sidebar tab under SHARED doesn't work (seemingly) if the share is a Windows administrative share (e.g. D: drive shared as D$). I don't know why, but there's no D$ under my Finder Sidebar even with this option selected. Checking the option under General setting does indeed stick a D$ icon on my desktop.

  • [SOLVED]Where are the sata drivers?

    Hi people,
I just bought a brandnew msi 770-C45 mainboard and want to install XP Pro.
Now I know that you have to make a floppy with the sata drivers, but where are they? With every sata driver I tried XP only see 131Gb instead of the 320Gb.
When I try a customized XP CD with integrated SATA drivers it work perfectly.
Unfortunately after research I was not able to extract the sata drivers from the CD.
Only I don't want customized XP, but the original XP.
I also tried to search on the chipset, but no succeed.
Normally they are on the CD. I tried every SATA/RAID folder and copy it to a floppy (per folder separatedly ofcourse  ) I tried the following folders:
H:\ChipSet\AMD\XP\SBDrv\SATA (most likely, but strange that they talk about putting a sata card into the system)
H:\RAID\Silicon_Image (tried all the three folders: SIL3114, SIL3132 and 3531)
If you know where I can find the right drivers for a clean XP Pro 32bit install or which files to use, would be great!
    Thanks in advance :-)

OK, thanks for the answers guys! :-)
First post of Svet didn´t had the sentence ¨Use XP installation disk with SP2 or SP3 included/integrated¨.
That was why I asked further. The normal XP here with me doesn´t has any SP onboard.
I will slipstream the XP Pro with SP2 and try it.
    Again thanks!
EDIT: Works like a charm  :D XP is installing on my sata, thanks dudes  , you

  • Where are the Bootcamp drivers on the Leopard install disc?

I have an older generation MacBook Pro (about April 2007), and it was running fine with Leopard/Bootcamp 2.0 and Win XP Pro until recently. In the process of trying to fix it, I installed the Bootcamp 2.1 upgrade, which killed my bluetooth capability. I want to roll back to the drivers that came with my Leopard installation disc, but when I insert the disc (running Bootcamp with Win XP), I can't find the drivers. I've searched the disc for a .exe file, and it's just not there. I even rebooted in OSX and right clicked on the Bootcamp Assistant (in Applications/Utilities), but did not see the executable there either. Any suggestions?

    Hi Stefan,
I'm afraid my Windows partition is hopelessly screwed up! I tried MacDrive on the Windows side and on the Mac side -- no executables showed up. I tried uninstalling the Mac-XP drivers, but they wouldn't uninstall. Finally, it occurred to me that I might be able to see the drivers if I rebooted in OSX and opened Parallels -- and it worked. I downloaded the Drivers folder to my OSX desktop, then went back into the Windows side of Bootcamp, and copied it to my Windows desktop thru MacDrive. But when I ran it, the installation never completed. I tested it by trying to add a bluetooth device, but I couldn't get Window to pair with it.
I think my current problem is that I can't uninstall the Mac drivers (the 2.1 version, which started this mess) from Windows. Do you know why this is happening? More importantly, do you know of a way to fix it, short of reformatting my Windows partition and stating from scratch?
    Thanks,
    Casey

I can't use a normal gamepad or a mouse because it keeps disconnecting/connecting after random times, and I can't use them.

  • Where are the Vista drivers for the WoW Wireless headset?

I just got the World of Warcraft wireless headset - but the link in the quick start (http://www.soundblaster.com/WorldofW...irelessHeadset) does not direct me to a VALID Windows driver web site.
It has two links - one for Windows (which explicitly states that it supports Vista), one for Mac. Both take me to the Mac driver package.
When I use the "Software AutoUpdate" to find the right drivers, it tells me that "Windows Vista is currently not supported"
How do I get the Vista (64bit) drivers for this thing?
I want to use it, but if I can't get drivers - I'll have to return it.
(to make things more annoying, the support page http://support.creative.com/contactus/ is 404)

  • WTF!?!?!??!?!??! Where are the Audigy drivers?? ETA?? Anythin

Funny how Logitech supports any mouse that they have ever released with frequent software updates to boot.
Funny how my Audigy works perfectly in Ubuntu no thanks to Creative.
Funny how x-fi drivers seem to be getting released at a lot faster pace than Audigy ones.
And please any fanboys do not try to give me the "Vista sound architecture is so complex" crap, im sure a multi million dollar company is able to hire some competent programmers to be able to figure it out.

Here's my impression after talking to the guy who directed me to this forum, reading this forum, and hearing the gripes of a few other users....
Creative will continue to drag you guys along about some 'alleged' support promises until they are able to completely liquidate the inventory they are pushing on their ebay store. Once they have gotten rid of that excessi've inventory - they will quietly end of life the audigy series...then you will not even be able to?pay to get?support. They may try to milk it with the alchemy software, but I think they're realizing the only way folks are going to be?obtaining what they feel like they should not have to pay for - is to steal it...so they won't make much money off the majority of audigy owners there. Sucks, cuz they at least made an (half-assed) attempt at something
It wasn't until folks complained to ebay?that?Creative even bothered to take the vista certified logos off their ads on the ebay store.....surely decepti've to say the least. They are still trying to get 00 bucks for refurbed audigys!!!!
My advice, pawn those things off to someone you don't know or like, and run like hell from Creative's (lack of) support. Think of all the things you could do with the extra time you won't have to spend reading forums or screwing with non-working software!!!!!
Oh about the Ubuntu drivers....wouldn't it be great if creative would?allow?the incredibly?talented programmers out there?an opportunity to write some fully supported open-source drivers/software? Funny thing is, if they hadn't been so adamant about refusing to open up EAX for everyone - it may have seen some support in Vista.....Creative pulled a Sony and shot themselves in the foot big time.

  • Where are the windows with the folder pictures ?

I suddenly realized that I'm no longer seeing the window at the top of the bookmarks window with the various folder pictures that changed as you clicked on a book mark within a folder. (I'm not even sure I'm asking this question right?) I recently downloaded OS 10.5.8. I was running 10.5.6. Did I lose something or did something change. Do I need to reset something ?
    Thanks.. Carolyn

I havea discovered the name of what I seem to have lost. "Cover Flow". I did a google search and found that your mac has to supoort Quartz Extreme, and mine does. Obviously it did or I wouldn't have had Cover Flow previously. So what happened ?
I'm really trying to figure this out myself, but I think I'm at the end of my knowledge here.
