What are "videos" besides itunes and imovie projects?

My system information says i have 76 GB in videos but I only have four movies and two TV shows on iTunes and no imovie projects/other large videos? What else could "videos" entail. Trying to free up some memory space. Thanks.

Where are you looking? When I look under System Preferences > About This Mac > More Info > Storage, I see a category called "Movies" but no category called "Videos". So I cannot imagine where you're looking.

In preferences, I see where it says the music is stored and I relocated it to another drive. I cannot find my movies and videos. Where do they get stored?

If you have iTunes set to keep your library organized, videos and movies are store the same place as music. Television shows are in a folder called TV Shows and movies in a folder called Movies. However, you can check this by clicking on a movie, video or television show in iTunes, Get Info and the look at the bottom of the Summary Tab. It will tell you exactly where it's stored. And, though I'm only guessing as I don't have a Windows box to test it on, that if you select something and right click on it, you'll see and option called something like "Show in Explorer" which will take you right to where the file is stored.

Where are iPhoto library, iTunes, Safari bookmarks, desktop icons...?

When installing Leopard, my main internal "Macintosh HD" (where all my programs are loaded) didnt show as an option, so I installed on my secondary HD. Leopard runs OK from here, BUT, I cant find my iPhoto library, iTunes, Safari bookmarks, desktop icons, and the programs in the dock no longer show. Any advice?

Sadly, this is still an issue.
I guess plan A would be to find all the settings I am now missing and point the various programs to them. Though not sure how to do either of those things.
If this is difficult, then plan B is to "boot back into ...Tiger drive" and reload Leopard in drive bay 1 as originally intended. Again, not sure how to do that - and why it didnt work the first time.
Pls let me know if you think this is the right plan, and if so, what would the steps required look like.

HT2905 Where are "duplicates" in Itunes 11?

Since I started using ITunes to keep my music "organized" it has been anything BUT. I have to spen a considerable ammount of time either finding the files because it happens regulary or deleting duplicates. Even though it was a flawed option, Show Duplicates was helpful but since I upgrade to v. 11.0.0.163 it just dissapeared, vanished . I need some advice or guidance 'cos the only way to go to improve things that I can envisage is to go as far as possible from ITunes IPhone and Apple.

General concensus is that the old Show Duplicates option has (for some reason) been removed from iTunes 11. You're not the only one feeling the pain, by a long shot. On top of that issue, my library has been significantly mangled. There are LOTS of bugs with 11 and clearly the Duplicates issue needs to be addresed, but don't think you're missing something... it's just gone. At least for now.

I can not find a way to get to iMix in itunes 10.0. It is not listed under More to explore in the Music section. Where is it?

You have to OWN the music, create the playlist in your library then follow instructions at the link above... Seems I recall not having to OWN all the music just to compile a playlist for purchase.

Itunes on the ipad is only a link to the store for purchasing media, it is not for watching content. Use the video app for watching the video.

Where are my Camera Roll pics n videos saved in iTunes(Laptop) when I backed up my iPhone to iTunes?

I backed up my iPhone today in order to save my Camera Roll pictures and videos safely in my Laptop and then I deleted them from my iPhone to make some free space.... And I want those pictures and videos in future back into my iPhone. So I know I must restore my iPhone from back up to get back the camera roll pics and vids. But what I want to know is, where are those pictures and videos saved in my Windows Laptop when I backed up my iPhone to iTunes today? There must be some folder of iTunes or somewhere in the iTunes software where they must be saved after backing up. I want to see them on my Laptop now but how can I do that?

they are in the backup file that, sadly, is not accesible unless you restore it to a phone... if you want/need access to them, you should import them

Itunes 8 - where are my music videos?

I purchased music videos & I can see them under my purchased list, but WHERE ARE THEY to get them on my ipod (new generation touch)?

Music Videos purchased from the store, will actually go under the "Music" library. They will be sorted under the proper artist and album if applicable. You can tell music videos from the music in a library with the little Video icon to the right of the tracks name.
Also, newer versions of iTunes come with the "Music Video" smart playlist made for you, and they should also appear there. If not, you might want to make one yourself! Use the following condition:
-Video Kind is: Music Video

Where are my music videos stored???

Actually, this is about my wife's iPhone...I am completely confused. She has like 60 music videos on her iPhone (from our iTunes library) and I cannot delete them. To be honest, I am not even sure how they are on there in the first place. When I plug in her iPhone, iTunes says she has 3.2 GB of videos...even if I don't select ANY music folder! If I uncheck the "Include Music Videos" box, then the videos go to 0 GB, so I know that number is from music videos (and not the small number of videos she has taken from her iPhone). I have tried to restore the OS (I upgraded her OS a couple weeks ago to iOS5, and restored it again to iOS5 yesterday), but that does nothing. Any clue where these videos are being stored so I can delete them from her iPhone? Even if I delete manually, they are reloaded the next time I plug in her iPhone to the computer. Crazy!
For my own iPhone, using the same iTunes library, I do not have a problem at all with this.

Actually, I did manually delete the videos from the phone, but when I plugged it back in, it re-installed them. Yes, I can avoid that by unchecking the "Include Music Videos", but the thing is...my wife does WANT music videos. But just the ones she selects, not these random ones. There must be some subfolder that it is not apparent that is holding these music videos. But for the life of me, I have no idea where this folder is. Can anyone help me with this? The last option I have will be to restore the iPhone as a new phone and reinstall everything onto it. But that's kind of a pain if I don't have to do that...

Where are my iTunes libraries?

I have an iPod Touch and my new iPad Mini. On my iPod Touch, all of the music and video files are available from the iTunes desktop, or by navigating to (User)/iTunes/iTunes Library.
However, even though I back up my iPad Mini and have lots of music and files there, I can't locate the files when the iPad isn't in the Lightning connector. When I perform a Spotlight search on an item I know is on my iPad Mini, I can't see the files- until I back up iTunes. Where are the files located? Why can't Spotlight locate my backed-up iPad library items?

That means that the items on my iPad Mini only appear on a search when my iPad Mini is attached via Lightning connection; when disconnected, the files only appear on my iPad Mini.
Let's suppose that I have an mp4 video that's on my iPad Mini. If it's being backed up, that means that a copy of the video should reside in my backup drive. But when I look on the backup drive for the specific mp4 video, it doesn't appear anywhere. Where is it located?
If the file is somehow deleted from my iPad Mini, and I need to get a copy of the file from my backup drive, where do I find it?
Another idea comes to mind. My iPad Mini files aren't being backed up at all; only my iPod Touch files are being backed up. Each device requires a different HD device to back up the data, or a single drive partitioned in two parts. In other words, I need to back up separately for the iPod Touch and iPad Mini.
