Where Awesome screen shot files are saved

I want to know where to find my screen shot file?

Nalin probably means the Safari extension Awesome Screenshot.
When you make a screenshot from a webpage, a page should appear with a message like this:
Congrats! Here is your screenshot.
But perhaps the extension isn't working well anymore.

  • Finding where my iweb site files are saved

I need help. My original hd crashed so I have a new one to run my computer. I dragged and dropped all my apps to the new hd as told by a I.T. friend and now I am supposed to format the old hd to use a storage space. Will my website files be gone. Are they actually saved online. Where would I located the actual page files so I can copy them over or did they when I dragged the files over. I have a feeling I am going to have to reinstall all my ilife 06' software but I don't want to start from scratch for my website. I also had to archive and install the new hd because my old one eventually did something to where I couldn't even start from the new one.

As Roddy was trying to tell you, if you found the "domain" file and it's the right one (double click on it and it will start iweb) you can move it to the same folder on the new drive.
Actually you can store it wherever you want. Iweb will look at the last file loaded.
Hopefully what you found is the right file.
If it is BACK IT UP!!
    good luck

  • How to upload words, exel, PDF file from the pc via itune to the iPad, and where will the uploaded file be saved? In the apps?

How to upload words, exel, PDF file from the pc via itune to the iPad, and where will the uploaded file be saved? In the apps?

You will need an app (or apps) on your iPad that is capable of reading the documents, as they will be saved with the app - if you don't have such an app then there is nothing to transfer them to or to read/access them.
One method of transferring them is toconnect your iPad to your computer's iTunes, select it's app tab, and then scroll to the bottom of it - you should the apps That you've got that are capable of file-sharing (if you've got any).  Selecting/high-lighting one of them should then allow you to add files to it via the box to the right of it.
An alternative way to get the documents onto your iPad is if the app that you want to transfer them to has a wifi setting, which will then allow you to transfer the documents wirelessly. You can also send the documents to yourself as attachments and then use Mail's 'open in' facility to copy them into your chosen app.
Edit : more info on file sharing from the manual :
File Sharing lets you transfer files between iPad and your computer. You can share files created with a compatible app and saved in a supported format.
Apps that support file sharing appear in the File Sharing Apps list in iTunes. For each app, the Files list shows the documents that are on iPad. See the app’s documentation for how it shares files; not all apps support this feature.
    Connect iPad to your computer.
In iTunes, select iPad in the Devices list, then click Apps at the top of the screen.
In the File Sharing section, select an app from the list on the left.
On the right, select the file you want to transfer, then click “Save to” and choose a destination on your computer.
Transfer a file from your computer to iPad:
    Connect iPad to your computer.
In iTunes, select iPad in the Devices list, then click Apps at the top of the screen.
In the File Sharing section, click Add.
Select a file, then click Choose (Mac) or OK (PC).
The file is transferred to your device and can be opened using an app that supports that file type. To transfer more than one file, select each additional file.
Delete a file from iPad: Select the file in the Files list, then tap Delete.

  • Want an Icon of an AddOn to re-appear in the toolbar (Awesome Screen Shot)

    Hello,
I have Awesome Screen Shot installed in FireFox and until the last update it was in the symbols toolbar on the right side next to the search field, but now it isn't and I'm not able to get it there again.
If I choose to customize the symbol list, the addon is not there to choose.
How can I get the Awesome Screen Shot button to re-appear on my symbols list?
    Thanks for your help

Do you see any error messages in the Browser Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer) after stareting Firefox related to this extension or other extensions?
If missing items are in the Customize palette then drag them back from the Customize window on the toolbar
If you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the Customize palette then click the <u>Restore Defaults</u> button to restore the default toolbar setup.
It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.
Delete the extensions.* files (e.g. extensions.json, extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.
New files will be created when required.
    See "Corrupt extension files":
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Unable+to+install+add-ons
If you see disabled or not compatible extensions in "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left end of the Search bar to check if there is a compatibility update available.
If this hasn't helped then also delete possible addons.json and addons.sqlite files.

  • Is Awesome Screen Shot a viable and safe add on?

I just installed Version 4 and looked at the add ons. When I clicked on Awesome Screen Shot, it came up with an advisory. Since I don't know them but I know you...what is your opinion, is it safe to add to my computer?

It is not made by Mozilla but anything on addons.mozilla.org is safe, and are not malware related.

  • How do I find out where iTunes thinks missing files are?

I have several hundred "missing" files in my iTunes library but they are all actually on the computer. But I don't remember where the were previously. I add dozens of songs at a time to my library all the time and there is no Earthly way for me to constantly remember where they were before. I don't just want to reimport the files because I have several hundred playlists with these files and it would be completely stupid to edit them all one at a time when all I need to do is to move them back to where iTunes thinks they should be. So where is that? The Windows media player has a column that displays file location. Why doesn't iTunes? (This is so stupid. It makes things -not just this- so much easier when you have the file location in the music list in your music player.)
Is there a way to find out where iTunes thinks the missing files should be at?

    Chris CA wrote:

The exclamation mark means ITunes doesn't think they are anywhere.
If you right click - get info on a song then view the Info tab, you will see where iTunes last used it from.
I'm not a newbie. I know quite a lot about iTunes. You sound like you don't though because if you did you would know that this is not true. If you "right click - get info on a song" (pressing cancel to the Locate popup) "then view the SUMMARY (not info) tab" you will see "Not Available" where the file location usually is. I wouldn't have asked this question if I hadn't gone through the steps already.
Thanks for trying though. Next time, please try the advice before you give it.
I add dozens of songs at a time to my library all the time and there is no Earthly way for me to constantly remember where they were before
You should not have to remember anything about where they were.
    I agree.
Are you always moving them around?
When I install a new hard drive. Yes. I generally keep everything organized and I let iTunes keep the folder organized but several years ago I used windows media player to organize my media.
Frankly I don't know HOW the recent songs/videos/etc. go missing. But some do. Maybe I accidentally move a folder without realizing it. Mistakes happen. Then I need to move it back but since I didn't know I did it in the first place I can't possibly be expected to remember where I moved it from.
Do you have iTunes prefs -> Advanced Keep ITunes music folder organized ticked and Copy files to iTunes ... ticked?
*OF COURSE!* Again, I'm not a newbie.
I have several hundred playlists with these files
Why would you have several hundred playlists?
I don't mean to sound rude but you sound like an Apple fanboy. Are you trying to tell me how I should use my own program? The answer to the question is I am a salsa instructor/DJ and I am constantly adding songs and videos to my library. Every month I have various salsa events, classes and performances that I do. I use my iPhone for the music. I need to maintain the playlists because students/teachers/studios/clubs/bars/churches/etc. call me back and want a repeat of the great salsa night I gave them a year ago. Naturally my playlists are highly organized into folders. So, I still have them and I need them.
Apple has its own ideas about how people should use its stuff but everyone is unique and our needs therefore are unique too. Apple doesn't realize this and still wants us to do things "the Apple way" even though "the Apple way" only works well for people who want their hand held through everything. This is why I say you sound like a fanboy. You don't know my situation and question if I need hundreds of playlists. I do.
I just need an answer to the question.
Thank you for your reply though. It gave me hope, for a time.

  • Files are saving to desktop instead of into the original folder

Is there a simple fix? Some files, such as Quark files are saving to the desktop, rather than to the folder in which the original file resides. I've checked everywhere for the selection "save to same location as original file.," or some such thing. Help!

No, I'm not seeing m3u as a file extension in about:plugins. I have another computer running an older version of Firefox, 3.6.20, and it calls totem okay. it doesn't have m3u in about:plugins either

  • Excel files are saved as HTML files

    Hi All,
I am saving the output files into a shared location in excel or csv format. However when i ask the users/business to have a look into it then they say that the files are opening as html web page and not able to load properly.
I checked it myself and found it true, all the xls and csv files are saved with .xls and .csv format only but when i try to open it and do as 'save as' then it by default tries to save it as a webpage. Is there any way i can correct this so the file is actually saved as xls only.
    Please suggest
    Thanks
    Ronny

    Hi Gareth,
I am using BI Publiser to ftp my report to the shared location. This is what it involves
[1] build the report in BIP
[2] while scheduling the report in BIP use sftp option to save the output file to the shared location
this is simple process to export the files to the desired location. Now while doing that ...i choose the output format ( template format) as excel and give the extension of the file as .xls.
The files does get saved as xls file but then when i try to save that agian to another location by opening it than it, by default , tries to save it as web page ....similarly when i ask business to have a look at the output files and when they open it than it opens as a web page .....wheareas it should be an excel file ..
Please revert if you require more elaborate explanation
    Thanks
    Ronny

If you erased or replaced your hard drive since iWeb was cancelled, then they are gone. Otherwise, if you have maintained backups then check those.
Usually such files are in the /Home/Library/ folder or a sub-folder.
    Exposing the /Home/Library/ Folder
Pick one of the following methods:
    A. This method will make the folder visible permanently. Open the Terminal application in your Utilities folder and paste the following at the command prompt:
    chflags nohidden ~/Library
    Press RETURN.
    B. Click on the Desktop, press the OPTION (⌥) button, select Library from the Finder's Go menu.
    C. Select Go To Folder from the Finder's Go menu. Paste the following in the path field:
    ~/Library
    Press the Go button.

  • What Files are Saved during a Time Machine Backup??

    Hi,
When I carry out a time machine backup, what files are saved?
I have just plugged in my external hard drive to carry out a back up and its 56GB!, my last TM backup was only 2 weeks ago and I haven't downloaded that much data!
    Many Thanks
    Chris

Sorry, that wasn't typed very well!!
    The TM backup is 56GB
    ;o)

  • Screen Capture files are corrupted

I use the built-in Screen Capture all the time....Command-Shift-3 and Command-Shift-4.
As recently as two days ago, it worked beautifully.
Today, it's not working correctly. The files get saved to the desktop, but they are corrupted. I can make out the image that I captured, but it looks like the horizontal setting on old cathode ray TVs is waaay out of sync.
I've tried a different user on the machine. I've tried changing the format from png to jpeg to pdf and back to png. Same result.
    This is weird.
    Any ideas?

OK, weird. The problem has 'gone away' without doing anything specific. I didn't even realize it - I just did a screen shot because I needed it and then sent it to the person who needed it. Only later, did I realize that I had had problems just yesterday.
I didn't even get a chance to try the suggestions listed above.
By the way, all three versions of the file were corrupted: the desktop icon, the Quick Look version and the actual file as seen in Preview.
If it happens again, I'll be back.
Thanks for the help people. I hope to return the favor.

  • My macbook pro screen shot isn't saving the picture on the desktop.

Hi so today I wanted to save something I was looking up online by taking a screen shot. before I've taken screen shots using comman + shift + 3 or 4 and it would automatically save on my desktop but now it isn't doing that. but i still hear the shutter sound. i haven't changed any of the preferences or anything. how do i fix this? please help!

In Mac Help, there is this notation regarding screen shots:
Some applications, such as DVD Player, may not let you take pictures of the screen.
What other applications there may be, I don't know.  Maybe this applies to your lost screen shot?
The last thing to try is PREVIEW>FILE>NEW FROM CLIPBOARD.
This then exhausts my ammunition on this item.
    Your post of Dec 12, 2011 3:33 AM seems to raise a new problem;
ALL my files are on this current account that doesn't take screen shots...and I don't know how to move everything from my documents, to my pictures in iPhoto and music in iTunes.
I suggest you repost this with more details, thus increasing you audience.
    Ciao.

  • Screen shot file time is wrong

I've taken a few screen shots in the past couple of days. I'm noticing that the time on the file is wrong for all of them. For example, I take a screen shot at 11:30 a.m., and the file, saved on the desktop, shows that the screen shot was taken at 3:03 a.m. The computer time is accurate, however. Anyone have any idea why this might be and how I might correct it?

    Anybody?

  • Where do screen shots get stored on a Mac Book?

I've been using command-control-shift-4 but then I get the camera noise and I have no idea where the photo ends up.

"it should be on your desktop after taking the screen shot."
In a file named Screen Shot .. followed by the date and time of the screen shot.
    Good luck,
    Ray

  • How to view Photoshop files are saved in the iPhoto library in Bridge?

I was very happy to see that photoshop files are now a supported file in iPhoto. However I was really bummed to see that once those files are placed in iPhoto they can't be viewed in Bridge. Does anyone know a way to fix this?

Using Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements) as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
3 - however, if you get the navigation window that indicates that PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file. You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
NOTE: With Photoshop Elements 6 the Saving File preferences should be configured: "On First Save: Save Over Current File". Also I suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always.
If you want to use both iPhoto's editing mode and PS without having to go back and forth to the Preference pane, once you've selected PS as your editor of choice, reset the Preferences back to "Open in main window". That will let you either edit in iPhoto (double click on the thumbnail) or in PS (Control-click on the thumbnail and seledt "Edit in external editor" in the Contextual menu). This way you get the best of both worlds
