Where BI Tools are included....???

Hi ,
Where are the BI Tools (Bi Discoverer Administrator (in Windows only) and Bi Discoverer Desktop ) included in the current list price file :
http://www.oracle.com/corporate/pricing/technology-price-list.pdf
In other words what are their prices , what is also included.... and if possible how is their licence...???? Per minimum named users (10 for enterprise edition of 10g) or 1 if only one person is going to construct the data model with the Bi Discoverer Administrator ????
Many , many thanks
Simon

1. What I believe Michael has shown is that if you buy the product called 'Developer Suite' you get Disco Admin and 1 copy of Disco Desktop. That'll set you back $5000 plus $1100 per year for support (22%).
If you want to buy additional client / server versions of Disco Desktop then it sounds like it'll cost you $1000 + $220 for support (22%).
2. Disco Plus and Disco Viewer are web only tools. The newer versions only come with the 10g Application Server. So if you're just going to use Disco, then it can be expensive. However (if memory serves), with the newer iAS's, you get all sorts of other goodies like: Forms 10g, Reports 10g, Portals, SSO, etc.). So, when your users are going to be creating Disco reports they can use Plus (xml) and view in Viewer (html).
Do you still need Desktop at that point? - well for a couple of reasons you might (ie: comand line stuff, sub queries).
However ... you MUST have Disco Admin to create and maintain the EUL, so ... fancy that for Oracle pricing ... you'll still have to buy the 'Developer Suite' for Admin - essentially get 1 free version of Disco Desktop - and then if you want iAS, you go from there.

The minor updates generally are not for new features but rather for security and allowed stability bug fixes. The 6.0.1 and 6.0.2 were chemspill updates for security as they were not expected to be any updates.

    If you are using Windows:
You must be logged in from an Administrator account not a Standard account.
Click on START, then Click on CONTROL PANEL, then be sure the View is set to Large Icons not Category.
Click on the Flash Player Icon. The Flash Player Control Panel should come up.
Click on the UPDATES tab. Now you can verify or select automatic updating.

  • Hyperlinks to XLS, DOC, and PDF files that are included in a .chm file work intermittently.

    SUMMARY
Hyperlinks to XLS, DOC, and PDF files that are included in a
.chm file (and the Baggage Files) only work intermittently. The
only solution appears to be deleting the Temporary Internet Files.
    PROBLEM
    1. I place the XLS, DOC, or PDF file in the Windows
sub-directory that corresponds to the RoboHelp project sub-folder
where the topic in which I’ll place the hyperlink exists.
    2. I open the help project in RoboHelp HTML.
    3. I right-click on the project’s Baggage Files
sub-folder that corresponds to the Windows sub-directory in which I
placed the XLS, DOC, or PDF file (in step 1).
    4. I import the XLS, DOC, or PDF file.
    5. I open the topic in which I’m going to place the
    hyperlink in the WYSIWYG editor.
    6. I “drag and drop” the Baggage File into the
topic (in the WYSIWYG editor) to create a link to it.
    7. I save the changes and then generate HTML (.chm) help.
    8. I open the .chm file and click the hyperlink. The XLS,
DOC, or PDF file may or may not open.
    9. When the hyperlink works correctly, for DOC and XLS files,
a “File Download – Security Warning” dialog box
appears asking, “Do you want to open or save this
file?”. The buttons that are available are
    “Open”, “Save”, and “Cancel”.
These buttons work then as one would expect. (When the hyperlink
works correctly for a PDF file, it simply opens the PDF file in a
new window; there’s no prompt to save, open, or cancel.)
    10. When a hyperlink does NOT work, for DOC, XLS, and PDF
files, no dialog box or other visual message is displayed. Instead,
the sound that is associated with the “Exclamation”
program event is played (the “Windows XP
Exclamation.wav” file is the WinXP default).
    Other Notes:
    - The hyperlinks ALWAYS work when I view a topic using the
“View Selected Item” function (Ctrl+W) in the RoboHelp
    HTML project.
    - Once a hyperlink stops working, it will not start working
again until I delete all the Temporary Internet Files.
    - A hyperlink will stop working even if Internet Explorer
(iexplore.exe) is closed the entire time.
    WORKAROUND
Through trial and error, I have discovered that if a
hyperlink stops working, I can get it to work again using the
    following steps:
    1. Leave the .chm file open.
    2. Open Internet Explorer.
    3. Click Tools>Internet Options….
    4. From the “Internet Options” dialog box, select
    the “General” tab.
    5. Under the “Temporary Internet Files” section,
    click the “Delete Files…” button.
    6. From the “Delete Files” dialog box, select
“Delete all offline content” and then click
“OK”. The files are deleted and the “Delete
    Files” dialog box closes.
    7. Click “OK” to close the “Internet
    Options” dialog box.
    8. Without closing Internet Explorer and without re-starting
the .chm file, all the hyperlinks that didn’t work before
    will now work.

    set to “Automatically”
    - “Current location” for the Temporary Internet

    - “Amount of disk space to use” is set to
    “594” MB
    “View Files…”
    - An XLS or DOC file will be listed here if I click its
hyperlink and then click either “Open” or
“Save” from the “File Download – Security
    Warning” dialog box.
    - A file will appear here even if I click “Save”
and then click “Cancel” from the subsequent “Save
    As” dialog box.
    - If I click “Cancel” from the “File
Download – Security Warning” dialog box, the file does
not appear in the Temporary Internet Files folder.
    - When a file does appear in the Temporary Internet Files
folder, its Internet Address is displayed similar to the following:
    “ms-its:C:\PrimaryProjectFolder\ProjectName.chm::/SubFolderName/FileName.xls”
    “View Objects…”
Here’s a list of all the program files that appear:
    - “Microsoft Office Template and Media Control”

    - “WUWebControl Class” (Last Accessed 12/13/06)
    (Version 5,8,0,2469)
Today is 12/18/06 so the only program file that is listed as
having been “Last Accessed” today is the
    “Shockwave Flash Object”.
    REQUEST FOR HELP
I really want to include certain PDF, DOC, and XLS files in
their native format in a .chm file. However, I need a better
solution to my problem than the one I discovered. What I really
want is to avoid the entire problem altogether.
Have anyone seen this before or have any suggestions?

You wont be able to do that. The embedded objects would appear as images only.

  • Why does Apple not want me to know where my files are?

There is one aspect that I find absolutely ridiculous and frustrating on Mac-OS. When I'm in Apple applications, it is impossible to find out where the file I'm working on is. For example, I have multiple files in my system, in different directories, lets say direcotories AA and BB and the file is called FooBar.txt. I open one of them in TextEdit. Great. Now I want to know which file I'm editing, AA/FooBar.txt or BB/FooBar.txt.
Traditionally, I would go to File and do a "Save As" and devine where the file is by where TextEdit thinks I need to save a new version of the file. Unfortunately, this is no longer available in Lion.
Okay, I understand that Mac is now doing verisions and the "Save As" was a user hack ... but it worked. I have tried to go to the Files->Properties, no luck this is just metadata about the contents of the file entered by the user, not system metadata about where the file is located, its size, owner, etc. I do not want to have to make a Dupicate of the file just to find out where when I do the save its going to put the file. I don't want a duplicate, all I want to know is where is the file I'm currently looking at.
I know this is all part of the mis-guided Apple idea that I shouldn't care about where my files are stored ala iPad and Apple iCloud and that I can find my files using Finder, but the reality of the situation is ... I do care where my files are stored. The files afterall belong to me not to Apple and Apple does allow me to have a directory tree structure which I choose to use to organize myself.
Yes, I know that Finder is wonderful and to unsophisticated users, this is all they need. But for those of us who are more sophisticated, we want-to and need-to know where our files are. And, yes, we will have many files with duplicate names.
As for Finder, I would like to be able to have a column dispolayed that lets me see where the files it found actual are. Then I want to sort on this. As far as I know, the only way to do this is to go to finder, type in the name of the file, then choose the Show all in Finder and then click on each file which then shows me a directory breadcrumbs on the botom of the screen. Again, this might be acceptable to the unsophisticated user, this is very awkward to the sophisticated user. Example, I find a file called xml.config. Great. I now want to not only edit the file but to open up a Terminal in the directoy where I found the file xml.config. Again, I know that a Terminal is not a thing an unsophisticated user wants-to or needs-to do. However, this is a feater of Mac-OS and I want to use it. yes, I can co through the Unix CD command and ultimately get there, but what a pain!!
So, hopefully, all you very sophisticated users will just point me to the right settings, swtiches and commands to make my life easier or that your designers will try to look at the sophisticated use cases and provide us with new tools, commands and options to make our lives easier. At the present, these frustrations remind me of the Microsoft ... we know beter .. attitude. So please, proove me wrong ;-)

While most likely not of interest to you, Spotlight can also tell you where the files it finds are located
Hover the mouse pointer over the name, and press Command-Option and the path to the file will be displayed.
As for opening a terminal session in the directory where a file is located, there is Applescripts that do just that as well as specific features in Lion/Mountain Lion terminal:

  • How to find where the segments are get filled.

    Hi friends,
I want to know, where the segments are getting filled for an IDoc. Actually i have failed IDoc's, in that IDoc the segment E1EDS01 the Qualifier is 009 its having 2 fields one is SUMMID its having value of 009 and another one is SUMME its having the value of 4.124.
The requirement is this SUMME value is wrong for selected Idocs. How i debug this? I know the partner profile name, basic type and message type. How i will get the proper include name?
    Its an outbound interface.
    Pls anyone advice are help.
    Mohana

    Hi Mohana,
If you have partner profile, then goto transaction WE20 and search for your message type in Outbound paramters of that partner and double click on it. Then click on the "_Message Control_" tab.
Process code will be defined there it will direct you to Outbound processing Function module. Then you can find your segment inside include of that Function module. (It could be user-exit also)
If you cannot find process code there, then look for corresponding EDI Output type which triggers the outbound Idoc and get the program name through transaction NACE.
    Hope this will help you

  • What types of samples are included with the EXSP?

I'm considering purchasing Logic Express, but wanted to know what types of samples (orchestral, synth, drum, keyboard, etc) are included with the EXSP player. Can anyone owning Logic Express tell me what types of samples are included?
    Mac G5   Mac OS X (10.3)

    Hello, Jeb247.
This is merely a matter of personal opinion, but I believe that the included samples for EXSP are among the better features of the program. Granted, there are some cases where you have several instruments loosely based on the same samples run through different filters, but you are likely to find a decent array of what you need.
You get all the Garageband instruments, as well as the ability to load the Jam Packs into EXSP. While the following list probably contains some overlap with those samples, it will still give you an idea of what's out there:
The top-level hierarchy lists 41 different groups of sounds. After each listing, I'll note the approximate number of 'instruments' in each group:
    Piano (10)
    Guitars (11)
    Bass (5)
    Strings (9)
    Horns & Winds (9)
    Ethnic Instruments (2)
    Voices & Choir (3)
    Drum Kits (12)
    Effects(~50)
    Percussion & Specials (2)
    Analog: Bass (45), Leads (20), Pads (17), Percussive Waves (44), SpectrumSQ (25), Sweeps (30), Synthcomp (33), Waveforms (50+)
Digital Chromatic Kits (12), Initial Waveforms (60+), Motion & FX (36), Pad Synths (46), Percussive Waves (23), Synths (31)
    FM Bass (17)
Synth Atmospheres Layers (31), Singles (40)
    Synth Bass (45), Brass (12), Chords (21), Leads & Hooks (30), LFO Synths (21), Multi Sequence (6), Pads (44), Percussive Synths (44), Poly (28), Sidechain Chords (14), Spacious Effects (40), Strings (16), Sweeps & Swells (32), Vocalish (25)
Now, as to the quality of the sounds... your mileage may vary. For orchestral stuff, nothing appeals to my ears like the Kurzweil -- largely because of those smooooooooooth output filters. That's not to say that the EXSP stuff isn't worth checking out; I just happen to use it for electronic textures and percussion rather than acoustic emulations. The drums simply don't cut it for me -- not nearly enough punch. But -- as I've mentioned before, you ears may report different pleasure levels.
Suffice it to say that the EXSP comes with a substantial array of music-making potential. For the money (a freebie w/ Logic Express) it's a really good deal. Shortcomings in its sound set can be overcome by the careful purchase of additional material where your ears report unsatisfactory sounds. If you don't like the drums, iDrum or Battery might be a good idea (or my personal favorite: an outboard drum machine with dead-short latency...); if the orchestra stuff is weak, there are alternatives there, too.
And your options for synth textures are beyond counting -- though I can specifically recommend the utterly astounding (and free!) Alphakanal "Automat". And you can have a pile of fun with the (equally free) NUSofting daHornet. And... and... the list goes on.
    Cheers,
    Michael

  • Upgraded to Adobe Reader XI - Docusign and Export PDF tools are missing.  How do I get them back?  Docusign through my company is current, and Export PDF through my personal account is current as well.

As usual, I blindly updated my PDF and now all of my tools are gone...  I used to have a tools menu on the right side where my document signing and export commands were available, and I cannot figure out how to get them back.

Gee, Pat, this is a  real big help.
Nobody could possibly think anyone would ask for help without first trying to fix the issue oneself. Or maybe you do. I have opened the file and looked under security. I have changed it to owner-notebook (which is what the techs called me) and clicked accept but geepers it didn't work.
Maybe someone else has an idea.
Take Ownership of a File or Folder
The above should be a link. At least I copied and pasted the link. I did what was stated in there. It isn't like brain surgery. But it is not working. I ended up being able to open some pdf files after transferring them from one partition category to another. I wish it was that easy as you seem to think.
Thanks for the help. Have a great year.

  • What Prefixes Are Included In My Local Calling Area?

I am in the former GTE service territory, specifically, the Elsinore Main California exchange.
On Friday, December 11, 2009, I spoke with a service representative and a supervisor (who admitted that she was "filling-in" and is really an hourly employee), who are in the soon to be divested Everett, WA call center.
I was calling to find out what prefixes are included as part of my local calling area, specifically ZUM 1 AND ZUM 2 (some also call it Zone 1 and Zone 2, but the correct designation in most southern California service areas of Verizon is ZUM).
Both representatives had no idea what a "ZUM" is, and the "supervisor" said she had never heard of the term ZUM or Zone.
What made me upset is that I was told that they (Verizon) did not have this information, and I would have to contact the CPUC (California Public Utilities Commission) to obtain this information as Verizon's staff would not have it.
My reply was how would Verizon not have the information, because they would need the ZUM prefix list for each exchange so they could bill correctly.
I then asked how does Verizon gather all the calls that are made from their exchanges each month and send this data to the CPUC so that Verizon can then determine if the call is ZUM 1, ZUM 2, ZUM 3 or intralata or interlata?
The "supervisor", said yes, because Verizon would not know what prefixes are included, and relies upon the CPUC to review the calls from Verizon's exchanges and prefixes so that Verizon can bill their customers each month, and this has been the process for many years (according to the "supervisor").
I kid you not, this what was said to me by the Verizon representatives, and I shoulld have advised the employees that I was recording the call. It would have been a great play for You Tube. What a bunch of (edit)  from these two Verizon call center representatives!
I'm glad Verizon is divesting the Everett call center along with other assets to Frontier, as people like these should not be employed by Verizon, in fact, they should be terminated for cause. Good luck to Frontier with the Everett call center.
Using Verizon's web site when trying to determine what prefixes are in my local calling area (ZUM 1 AND ZUM 2), you are directed to use the following two "very helpful" (my words...lol) links for information...please try for yourselves:
To obtain Local Calling Area information
    http://www22.verizon.com/Content/CommonTemplates/sorry.html
    Zone Usage Measurement (ZUM) Information
    https://www22.verizon.com/ResidentialHelp/Phone/Calling+Plans/Local+And+Regional+Calling+Plans/Gener...
Great Information Verizon!! Both are dead links.
Anyway, point me in the direction where I can obtain the current and accurate prefixes that can be called without charge to ZUM 1 and ZUM 2, and with a charge to ZUM 3 for my exchange and prefixes. DO NOT point me to a white pages directory because that is already outdated (and I do not have a white pages directory).
Again, my exchange is Elsinore Main, and the prefixes are 951-245 and 951-674.
    Thank you.

  • "Text Boxes" (comments) in my form are included in "tabbing" through fields while filling in a form

I have included several text boxes (not text fields) in my form. They are adjacent to the fields that are being filled in and serve various comment functions that I do not want in the printed form at the end.
If the user "tabs" through the fields to enter data in the next field the 'text boxes' (comments) are included in the tab stops... I can not see where to turn that off. I want the tab order key to ignore the comment fields - the text boxes. They are not even listed in the tab order menu.
Also - is there a way a field that shows up multiple times in a form (duplicate field) can be skipped by the tabbing through IF it aleady has data in it?

I'm not aware of any app that will translate the form fields from Word to the iPad. My guess is that you're going to have to recreate the forms on the iPad.  The best app that I've found for doing this is FormConnect http://http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/formconnect/id432653695?mt=8&ls=1. It's a very simple app for creating check boxes and text fields.

  • Call library function not finding DLL in directory where my LLBs are

I am using LabVIEW 8.6.  I have a set of VIs in several LLBs.  All the LLBs are in one directory.  Most of my VIs are wrappers for the functions in one DLL.  I was told to put my DLL in the directory where the LLBs are, and supposedly this is how the previous programmer worked (using an earlier version of LabView).
In the Call Library configuration, I have specified <dllname>.dll without a path.  (This is how we want it as our VIs are an API which other programmers will integrate, so I don't know where they will put things and I can't use any absolute paths).
When I load the VIs in LabVIEW, LabVIEW can't find the DLL and asks me to located it.  It is right there in the directory with the LLBs and when I double click on it everything works fine.  However my absolute path to the DLL now appears in the Call library configuration, and we don't want that.
Does anyone know how to make this work?  I would assume that the location of the VIs (or LLBs, in this case) would be the current directory and thus Windows would look there for the DLL.  However, it seems that this is not the case (at least, in the current version of LabVIEW).
    Thank you.

Well somebody using your library should not have to dig into your VIs and do all this on his own. Instead your library should wrap that and hide the troubles of this entirely.
That is EXACTLY what I want to do.
The error cluster was added when the dynamic path option was added. It is not useful to hide that error output so it is always there. Together with the dynamic path there was improved error handling added to the CLN. One of them is that the level of error checking during the function call (exception handling) can be specified. I would assume that some of those options can generate an error code instead of popping up a dialog as they did before and for that the error code output can be useful even in the static call case.
As to what you want to do, I would long ago
I would long ago have done a lot of things differently on this project -- but no one asked me then :-)  (Good thing it wasn't me, or maybe I'd have taken offense ;-)  )
have handled that with a wrapper DLL that has basically the same functions as your other DLLs and some initiliasation function that returns a pointer to a function dispatch structure based on the actual DLL you want to call.
OK, I am getting the feeling that this will be a brilliant and elegant solution when I fully understand it.  I understand what a wrapper DLL is.  But do you mean that each version of my product would include a different wrapper DLL (with the same name so that CLN would always work), or the same one and it would somehow be told which actual DLL I want to call?  Who would decide which DLL, the VI or the wrapper DLL?
By a function dispatch structure do you mean a table of function pointers gotten by GetProcAddress, one such entry for each function?
Quite like what an object oriented function dispatch table is. Then when initilising your interface you call that initialise function and specify the interface/device type you want to use and after that all the other functions take one additional function dispatch pointer parameter as first parameter in addition to the parameters the actual function has. This function dispatch pointer would be just a pointer to a structure containing the table of function pointers for that interface and for the sake of LabVIEW would be simply a pointer sized integer.
The wrapper function then verifies the function dispatch structure pointer for validity and calls the actual function with the remaining parameters.
I think I understand what the wrapper functions need to do.  But I am missing some pieces for the initialize function.  It would have to do LoadLibrary and lots of GetProcAddresses -- that much I get.  But I still don't understand who decides which DLL.  Maybe you mean that the wrapper DLL's initialize function will get the DLL name and path from the registry, load it, try a different path if the load fails, etc.  Is that what you mean?  That could work very nicely.   But from where would it get the registry key?  From the VI?  This is the part that would clearly be different for each product.  I suppose that you had something in mind when you described your solution.
    This is some C programming
Great!  That's what I do for a living.  At least I know how to do that!  Hey, I should have thought of this idea!
and might require some planning and desigining of the different interfaces to facilitate this kind of dispatch technique but it will for sure pay of in the long run, and make your library even usable in earlier LabVIEW versions, as well as VB etc. without tricky dynamic loading in the high level programming environment.
Ah, see how much I don't know in LabVIEW?  I didn't know this was a new feature...
Thank you for the great idea.

  • How to add a custom iview to the portal tool area

    Hello:
We want to add some simple text like date, day and some
more things to the portal tool area, where a KM search
box, and collobaration link exists now.
I tried to look up for the tool area iview par file, but
only found, *.ept file only which doesn't contain any
    code.
I hope atleast some of the clients might have tried this.
If you will you please shed some light on how to achieve
    this task.
Thank you very much in advance for the help,
    Prasad Nutalapati

    Hi Prasad,
    try to do this:
    1) download the par file of the standard toolbar. You can find it under:
    \usr\sap\P602\j2ee\j2ee_00\cluster\server\services\servlet_jsp\work\jspTemp\irj\root\WEB-INF\deployment\pcd
    its name is: com.sap.portal.navigation.toolarea.par.bak
2)import it into eclipse with another name, i.e. com.customer.portal.navigation.toolarea
    3) modify as you need the jsp contained in it in order to satisfy your requirements.
    4) deploy the par into the portal and create a new iview based on it.
    5) put this iview into the framework page you want to use, hiding/deleting standard toolbar
these steps are OK if you want simply modify the layout of the toolbar, you cannot modify the logic behind it.
If you need to do that, for example add some buttons which perform some custom actions, you have to develop a new component from scratch using the portal development paradigms.
I hope this could help you
    Cheers
