Where by Date is not working

Question

This is the date stored in the column, It is a date column [ 6/8/2005 9:58:25 AM ]
I need to query the DB based on this date and it is not returning any thing
select *
from purchase
where created_date = to_date('6/8/2005,'mm/dd/yyyy')

You just forgot the quote:
to_date('6/8/2005,'mm/dd/yyyy') should be
to_date('6/8/2005','mm/dd/yyyy') .
Otherwise, the sql should work:
SQL> create table purchase(created_date DATE);
Table created.
SQL> insert into purchase values('08-JUN-2005');
1 row created.
SQL> select *
2 from purchase
3 where created_date = to_date('6/8/2005','mm/dd/yyyy');
CREATED_DA
08.06.2005
1 row selected.
If it doesnt, please post your sql with error messages as pasted from sql*plus.
