Where can I buy a iPhone 1st. Generation?

Hello I want to buy a cheap, old iPhone.

CraigsList? Local papers? Ask your friends and co-workers?
But if you don't want to be able to run current apps, which the first-gen iPhone will not do since iOS 3.1.3 is the last version of the operating system the original iPhone will run and the majority of apps (and certainly the popular ones) require newer versions, why bother with an iPhone? Why not just get a cheap standard cellphone?

    Welcome to the forum. You know, in your "My Settings" you can enter where you are located. That displays to the left of the post. I'm sure if the responder saw that you were in Hawaii, they wouldn't just suggest you go to another state. People need to help the rest of us out by including more information. Another thing to add is what platform you are on (Mac OS X or Windows, etc.). Having more information about someone posting helps everyone.
    As far as not finding an iPhone, I say relax. I too am looking for one and the AT&T stores are out. I need to get one there because I am transferring my wife's phone too. I plan to wait a few weeks (things will get better by then) and then get a phone. Hope you can wait!

    The iPhone is sold at Apple stores, AT&T corporate stores, Best Buy, Radio Shack, and Walmart.
    If a Best Buy, Radio Shack, or Walmart is available, I would call the store to make sure the store will be selling the iPhone. An AT&T corporate store will be.

    I don't know if they sell unlocked iphones that would work in France or not.  You would have to ask them.

    Your examples are inapplicable to this discussion, since you're not a manufacturer wanting to buy parts to build your own phone, you're a user trying to buy parts to fix a very specific device, to wit the iPhone.
    I will echo what Tim said; Apple does not sell parts and does not allow their suppliers to provide to anyone any parts designed and built for any Apple devices. If any suppliers do so, they are doing so "on the sly" in violation of Apple's contracts. Any other parts will either, as Tim said, be counterfeit or salvaged from broken or defective devices.
    There's nothing more anyone here can say. If you wish to do your own repairs, you will have to source your own parts, accepting that they will be of unknown quality, and in doing the repair will void all further support from Apple.

    I believe that is a 4th gen iPod.  When you say "charger," do you mean the USB docking cable?  Or do mean a USB power adapter that you connect to a wall outlet to charge the iPod?

    If you happen to have a Mac with a FireWire port, the 4th gen iPod actually ALSO works (better) over a FireWire connection.  But you'll have to look for an old FireWire docking cable on eBay (or other online source).
    If you are asking about a USB power adapter, this is the lowest power version from Apple, and it works with the 4th gen iPod.
