Where can I buy a replacement airport extreme card for my imac G5 17" 1.8GHZ?

I just bought an imac 17" G5 1.8 GHZ. It is missing the airport extreme card and I am having a hard time at finding a place to buy one. Does anybody know of who sells one which will fit my computer?

Here is a suggestion as an alternate to the airport extreme card. It is a tiny wireless 802.11n wireless adaptor you plug into a USB port.   Wireless N 150 Ultra Mini USB Adapter - $34.77   See

There are many other similar devices from other sellers.
For the actual Airport Extreme Card, just do a Google search for sellers. I found one here, there are also others:

It may not be the same molded plug but I would think any normal 3-prong computer power cable should work.
    How about this one?

I've always had the theory that if you put two computer power cords in a drawer they will breed and you'll end up with a lot more!   My parts drawer is always full of them.  They like to knot up by themselves as well!  Maybe that's how they breed.

  • Where can I buy a replacement AirPort Card for a PowerBook?

My old G3 Firewire PowerBook is having problems recognizing my AirPort Base Station. I think the internal AirPort Card is intermittent. Where can I buy a replacement Apple AirPort card ? My local Apple Store claims that they are no longer available now that the Extreme cards are standard issue.
    Thanks

  • Airport Extreme Card for G5 iMac Rev A

Hi All, just wondering what the model number is for my model iMac? I have heard it is A1026? Seen one for sale A1027 which he said was out of his dead iBook. Could I use this or has to be A1026 which I think I is the correct one? I have an Airport Extreme Base Station (Dome Shape) which would work with the extreme card? Also someone said I need a T-shape bar connected to the back of my iMac too? Once have extreme card I will be able to wirelessly connect to my recently released Mac mini?
Sorry for all the questions as very new to Airport, wireless connections, 802.11b/g/n etc. Thinking about getting the newly realeased iPod Touch so I can use this for web browsing, emails received & sent etc. Any info on this subject would great also.
I have a Thomson TG585 Wireless Multi-User ADSL2+ Modem connected to my 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Mac mini if this helps in my question too.
    Thanks in anticipation, Steve

Either the A1026 or A1027 would work. They are just revisions of the same card.
I have an Airport Extreme Base Station (Dome Shape) which would work with the extreme card?
Yes that card will work with any 802.11b/g compatible wireless base station.
? Also someone said I need a T-shape bar connected to the back of my iMac too?
No, the iMac has a built-in antenna.
Once have extreme card I will be able to wirelessly connect to my recently released Mac mini?
    Yes

  • Which Airport Extreme Card for 1.25Ghz 17"

I am trying to purchase an Airport Extreme card for my 1.25Ghz iMac G4 17", but I seem to be finding a lot of iBook and other random Extreme cards, so I am lost which one is compatible with mine.
I found this one that also is combined with a Bluetooth card. I would love if this is the right one or if it will even work because i hate having to use the corded mighty mouse with it.

This is the profile page for your iMac at EveryMac.com

That linked product looks like this one, which is described more accurately below, and is not for an iMac G4

This is the correct AirPort Extreme card for your iMac G4 model
    http://www.megamacs.com/item/Airport-Extreme-Card/view,3471750/criteria,airport% 20extreme/
It does not include Bluetooth. The best way to add Bluetooth, if that is important, is with a USB Bluetooth adapter. This is the one that Apple officially approves for use with Macs that do not have built-in Bluetooth.

Since that G4 iMac has USB 2.0, you may want to consider a USB wireless adapter as well, instead of the AirPort Extreme card. Here is one, sold by OWC (a Mac-oriented vendor).
    http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Newer%20Technology/MXP802NU2C/
It (probably) costs less, and it uses the faster 802.11.n standard (compared to 802.11g used by the AirPort Extreme card). You will have to install driver software, but that is provided with this adapter and it supports Panther (10.3.9) or later. And you don't have to open up the iMac to install it. If you get a different brand, make sure Mac OS X drivers are available for that product.
The advantage of the AirPort Extreme card is that (once installed internally) nothing appears connected on the outside, and no additional driver is needed.

  • I was having problems burning DVDs' fro iDVD and it turned out my burner is at fault I have a 27 inch iMac using a OPTIARC DVD RW AD-5680H. Where can I buy a replacement in UK?

I was having problems burning DVDs' from iDVD and it turned out my burner is at fault.
I have a 27 inch iMac using a OPTIARC DVD RW AD-5680H. Where can I buy a replacement in UK? I have seen these with SATA is this the correct cable for my mac?
I have also tried the Mac superdrive but my imac wont recognise it as it's been configured for macbook air and mini mac. I know I can "make" it work by doing something or other in com.apple/plist, but dont want to mess about in there.
I'm also told an external drive would work but does "mac compatible" mean only for air and mini as their own superdrive is or all macs?
Any help appreciated before I convince myself mac is no better than windows pc!

Thanks but this didn't really help.
I can buy the drives at a dozen places but none of them seem to know what connection is correct (SATA etc) and that includes the apple store. It was the store who told me buy the superdrive and all my problems would be over. Wrong! It isn't recognised by imac as it's confifured for air and mini mac. Only way to make it work is as i said in earlier post. (Would you be happy buying a car you were told would start and then discover you have to open the bottome and fiddle to make it go?)
The apple store I would not even consider taking it to. Days without the pc, over priced and don't have a good reputation for actually fixing things!
    But thanks

Where can I buy a replacement power supply for my time capsule?

Apple do not sell parts for the TC..
And do not allow their OEM to sell parts.
So you need to bypass Apple and create your own.
    Or fix the existing one.

  • Airport Extreme Cards for Powerbook Ti

So, why noy make an internal airport extreme card for the Ti Powerbooks? It's not like theyre that old of a model. and if other companys can make em for external use why cant Apple do this?
Hopefully someone at Apple reads this. Ive been an avid supporter of Apple comps and its not like customers such as myself wouldnt actually buy these if they were to release them. Think about it....every titanium power book user would prolly run out and re-buy the already installed cards all over again. Makes sense to me.
    WM

It may make sense to you, Wil, but not many people nowadays are investing in hardware enhancements for their three-and-four-year-old Tibooks. And with other manufacturers producing cards that can be installed in a Tibook and moved on to the next laptop without ever opening up the Tibook, and offering (in many cases) far better wireless range than the built-in Airport antenna can offer, Apple would face tough competition for the few customers who might be interested in such a product.

  • Airport Extreme Card for Mac Pro (bought in 2006)

In or around 2006 I bought a Mac Pro (it was right when the starting coming with Intel Chips) and didn't upgrade to have it come with a Airport Extreme Card inside. A week later I ordered one, but it wasn't the right one. I have been looking online and found one, the MA688Z/B on amazon.com. I have looked at websites showing how to install this, however, I don't see the place on the motherboard where it goes. Is this the right internal Airport Extreme card for my Mac Pro from 2006 or is there a different one? Also, is the Airport Express that is external better and should I just go that route?
    Please help! Thanks!

Here's a picture of the 802.11n module installed in a Mac Pro.
It's small and fits near drive bay 2. It's not designed to be fitted by customers, so you cannot buy the card on the Apple Website. Fitting involves plugging in the card. A small brass screw - and two antenna cables, which clip onto the corners.
Unless you have tiny fingers, I'd pay to have it fitted in an Apple Store.
Warning. The Mac Pro is heavy. Do not attempt to carry it to the mall if you have a heart condition or are pregnant.

  • Airport Extreme card for Powerbook G4 12"

I want to get an Airport Extreme card for my 12" Powerbook, however, am a little confused as to which one will work with it. I am currently running a 867Mhz PowerPC system. I have seen two part numbers for the Airport Extreme card, A1026 and A1027. I was hoping that someone might be able to clarify the correct one I need, thanks.

behappysomeday, Welcome to the discussion area!
Those cards are both the same thing. Either one will work.
