Where can I buy more RAM? And is it hard to install?

Do I have to go into an Apple store to buy ram or can I buy it online. Also will I be able to install it myself or will I need to have a pro do it?

You can buy RAM in Internet and install it yourself except in the Late 2012 21'5-inch iMac, where you will void the warranty if you add more memory.
You can buy more memory at OWC or Crucial. See > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1423?viewlocale=en_US

  • Can you add more RAM and a graphics card on T430?

I currently have 8gb of ram and onboard intel HD 4000 graphics on my T430.
I'm trying to play some games on my computer so, I would like to know if there is a slot to install an aftermarket video card plus ram expansion capacity of T430.
    Thank you.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Yes for the RAM - T430 will accept up to 16GB.
No for the graphics card, there is no upgrade path for that.

  • Where can I buy Adobe Ink and Slide?

The Creative Cloud Release presentation just announced that Adobe Ink and Slide are available at adobe.com. I can't seem to find anywhere on the site to buy these products? Where do we get them?
    Thanks

Purchase is on Adobe.com. Note that the actual purchase will take place on Adonit.net,not the Adobe Store.
Ink and Slide are available in the US on June 18 and expected to ship in other regions later this year. .These will include CDN, UK, FR, DE, JP and AU.

  • Where can I find cheep ram and...

I want to find a cheep single stick of 2GB ram. Also would it help with render intensive programs such as Final cut pro and Maya?

There are no "cheep (cheap?)" 2G sticks. They are all expensive. Besides, it is most unwise to buy RAM for any Mac based simply on a low price. "Cheep" RAM is one of the most common causes of user problems.

  • Where can I buy a keyboard and mouse with scrollball (the aluminum ones with usb ports)

I run Linux on a PC, (You all Probably Hate Me Now)  and I was recently using an iMac In my computers class and i disconnected the keyboard and plugged it into my linux box... and it worked perfectly!!!!!!!!!  I Totally Want One!!! they are probably really tough judging that they are made of aluminum and not plastic. and they have usb ports on the keyboard which I like. not only because it is convenient, but my linuxbox has taken a beating within an inch of its life and only one of my usb ports works...... so PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ tell me where i can get one!!!

Try the Apple Store via www.apple.com.

  • Where can I buy more synths?

Are there synth packs for Garageband besides the Jam Packs? I've been looking on the web and there's just too much information to sort through. I don't want to have to download different programs and export and blah blah blah.
    Thanks!

Thanks but the site is in German.
Of course there's an English version. Look for "Standort" in the left row to set your location and language.
From what I can tell the products are software programs ...
No, they have a lot of plugins.
... and I'm looking for soundfonts to use in Garageband.
From your question it seemed that you were looking for professional products - most soundfonts are amateurs' work, most of the time of questionable quality.

  • How much RAM can upgrade my Powerbook G4 with and where can I buy it?

I would like to increase the speed/processing power of my Powerbook G4. Any advice on the following appreciated:
    1) What is the max RAM I can put into it? There seem to be problems logged on this discussion forum at 2GB by some users?
    2) Where can I buy compatible RAM - it is no longer available on the Apple store (neither UK where I live nor US)?
    3) are there any other upgrades I can make to speed up my Powerbook?
    My current Powerbook details are:
    Machine Name: PowerBook G4 15"
    Machine Model: PowerBook5,2
    CPU Type: PowerPC G4 (1.1)
    Number Of CPUs: 1
    CPU Speed: 1.25 GHz
L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB
Memory: 768 MB - DDR SDRAM
    Bus Speed: 167 MHz
    Boot ROM Version: 4.7.1f1
Graphics - ATI Mobility Radeon 9600
    Many thanks
    Mark

Hi, Mark. Your Powerbook can use up to 2GB of RAM, and there is no increased risk of trouble when using the maximum as long as the RAM used is suitable. Suitable RAM can be ordered from scores of online vendors. I don't know what the best sources in the UK might be, but I suggest that you look for Samsung, Crucial, or Hynix branded RAM from a vendor whose web site explicitly advertises it as compatible with Aluminum Powerbook G4s.

  • Need to add RAM to elitebook 2740p. How much can I add and where can I buy

I have an elitebook 2740p (product # WS272AW).  Currently I have the original 2gig of RAM but I'd like to upgrade to at least 4 gig or even more if possible.  How much am I able to add and where can I buy RAM?
    Kindest Regards

from looking online it looks as though your model can take 8Gb maximum.
I have recently been using a site called Mr Memory, they have your model listed on their site - elitebook 2740p

  • Where can i buy original memory for my macbook pro 13inc mid 2012 and how much is this ?

Where can i buy original memory for my macbook pro 13inc mid 2012 and how much is this ?

"Memory sold by the Apple Online Store is guaranteed to be compatible with your Macintosh."
    http://store.apple.com/us/mac/mac-accessories/memory
Other than Apple there are only two vendors with which I have personal experience and can recommend: Crucial and OWC. People have reported problems with many other brands, yet Crucial and OWC's prices are as good as any you are likely to find.
Go to Crucial and download the little app that examines your system and recommends RAM upgrade options.
Their prices are good but don't have to buy memory from them - determine what you need and buy it from Crucial or OWC / MacSales. You'd be paying Apple a lot more than either one of them, and you don't have to.

  • I have 1 GB RAM on an '07 MacBook Pro. 1) How do I check remaining memory? 2) I have Microsoft office 2004 - do I need to buy more RAM to upgrade to '11? 3) I need a new battery ... Is it worth the $$ to buy a new battery, RAM and Microsoft office 2011?

I have a MacBook Pro from '07 with 1 GB of memory. The battery is shot and my AppleCare has run out. I just upgraded the OS to 10.6.8. But a few questions:
1 - How do I even check how much memory I have left on this computer?
2 - How do I check how many battery cycles are left?
3 - I want to upgrade to Microsoft Office '11 because I don't have Adobe Acrobat to creat pdf's and I need to be able to do this for school... Instead of buying acrobat, I figured I would just upgrade to Office '11 because I can generate pdf's from Word. Roughly how much RAM does Office '11 take up?
4 - Does Apple still make batteries for this computer (from '07)? How much do they cost?
5 - How much does 1 more GB of memory cost?
AND lastly -- is it even worth it to spend the $ on more RAM, a new battery and Office '11?
Or does it make more sense to just get a new computer entirely? (trying to avoid this).
ANY help would be sooo appreciated! Thanks.

1 - How do I even check how much memory I have left on this computer?
If you're asking how to check to see if you need more RAM, open Activity Monitor and go to the System Memory tab, then compare page outs and page ins.  If page outs is 10% or more of page ins, you probably need more RAM.
2 - How do I check how many battery cycles are left?
There's no limit on the number of battery cycles, it's just that the more cycles you've used the more "worn out" your battery gets.  You've got a 4-year-old machine, and if it's still got the original battery, it's probably about time for a replacement battery.  You can check battery health using System Profiler...  look at the Power section under Hardware.
3 - I want to upgrade to Microsoft Office '11 because I don't have Adobe Acrobat to creat pdf's and I need to be able to do this for school... Instead of buying acrobat, I figured I would just upgrade to Office '11
You don't need Office 2011 to create PDFs.  Any application capable of printing can create PDFs on a Mac.  Just choose File -> Print, but instead of clicking the Print button in the print dialog, click the PDF button and choose Save As PDF in the menu that appears.
4 - Does Apple still make batteries for this computer (from '07)? How much do they cost?
5 - How much does 1 more GB of memory cost?
I'll "ditto" sig's answers to these.
AND lastly -- is it even worth it to spend the $ on more RAM, a new battery and Office '11?
Or does it make more sense to just get a new computer entirely? (trying to avoid this).
If Office 2004 is still working fine for you, stick with that and don't incur the costs of Office 2011.  As to the RAM, only add more if the test I mentioned above indicates that you need it.  If you buy more RAM when you don't really need it, you won't see much (if any) performance improvement.  That just leaves the battery...  and if the machine is still doing what you need it to do and you don't really need a new machine for anything, you could definitely buy a new battery and get a few more years out of it.
