Connect the phone to your computer then open iTunes. Select the phone under the Devices heading in iTunes' sidebar. Click on the Summary tab in the main window then click on the Update button.

    I tried just about everything and finally brought my Ipod touch to the apple store.  The tech installed ios 4.3.5 but still no WIFI.  He recommended a $149 exchange - not really a bad deal with a new battery and 90 day warranty, but I thought I'd try again.
    The "solution" was bizarre.  On YouTube was a fix involving taking the motherboard out and heating the wifi components with a heat gun.
    I did not like that idea, but another involved turning it off, putting it in the freezer for five minutes and restarting.  It worked!  I must admit the fix does not work reliably, so I may still go for the exchange.  Still, I am now convinced that it is a hardware problem.    i remember back in the old days, TV repairmen sprayed a suspected bad resistor with Freon.  The chilled component would work long enough to identify what needed replacement.  Perhaps something similar is happening here.
    For anyone wanting to try this, I found it more convenient to place the back of my ipod on a  frozen cold pack until the wifi is restored.  It seems to happen when condensation forms on the face.  I used a towel to wipe off the moisture so as not to add to the problem.

    It should not be possible to install it using any means approved by Apple. Installing it by any unauthorized means is generally a bad idea.

As far as I know from other posts in the forum, it seems the only way to create the repository is to separately download and install the EM on the integrated WLS, since it's not included in the Jdeveloper package.
    Where can I download the EM from exactly?

    If you have a wireless connection, go to settings, software update.  If you do not have the most current version it will bring it down and install it.  ( may ask to to plug in the power plug).
    Or, connect your device to I tunes, and do a software upgrade from there.
    If you want a copy of the software, google around a little.  I understand there a few sites that have copies that can be downloaded to a pc for off line installation.

    Enio - iOS 5.0 is downloaded and installed automatically to your device via iTunes. This happens when you connect your iPhone to iTunes, and select Update. iTunes does keep a back up of the iOS firmware installer because it's an .exe file that you can run manually. It relies on iTunes for the unpacking/installation process. Have you tried using another computer or resetting your Internet connection?
