Hello again,
Sorry that I wasn't much help, however I just remembered this site, which lists everything that can be added to any mac, and they have a list of drives that will work. Even if it doesn't solve your query, it's a useful site to know.

  • Where can I find a restore disc for a PowerBook G4?

Where can I find a restore disc for a PowerBook G4?

The detailed problem is that I had used the computer for a long time without turning off.  I wanted to give it to someone else so I needed to clean the data off. Before deleting anything I switched off then on and the HD seemed to have developed a fault as the start up routine began then when the Hd started the computer crashed and restarted at the begining with the startup routine and I have not been able to go further than this.  I changed the HD for an old one that I had replaced previously which had the same software system, Leopard.  This worked perfectly but on switching off then on behaved as the other had.
I figured that if I could start with the restore disc I could clean the HD or at least investigate it.  Hence the need for a restore disc.
Would this work or is there something in the logic board that is upsetting the HD and what ever I do will not cure the problem.
    Any thoughts??

    The JDBC 3.0 driver will work in a JDBC 2.0 environment (i.e with J2SE 1.2 or 1.3)
provided you use only JDBC 2.0 features of the driver

  • Where can I find a 10.5.8 driver for Laserjet 400 m401dne printer?

I'm running OS 10.5.8 on a G5 desktop (tower), and I just bought a LaserJet Pro 400 M401dne and connected it to this Mac with a usb cable. The Mac will print to it using a generic postscript driver automatically chosen by the OS. There is no driver for the LaserJet 400 on the list of drivers available in the OS.
The installer disk for the printer doesn't offer any driver installation for 10.5.8. It just says that the DVD software won't work with this version of the Mac OS.
This printer is capable of doing duplex (double-sided) printing, which is the main reason I bought this printer, but I am not given that option in any of the dialogue boxes for the printer when I hit PRINT. Apparently the generic postscript driver doesn't recognize the duplex printing feature of the printer. As a result I cannot print on both sides of a page.
I went to the HP website and could not find a LaserJet 400 driver for OS 10.5, nor do I see any driver for it on the Apple website. The free Gutenprint driver utility lists many LaserJet models, but not the 400.
Does anyone know where I might find a driver for this LaserJet 400 that will enable it to do double-sided printing in OS 10.5.8?
    Tom

You solved the problem, BDAqua! I downloaded the driver for the LaserJet 500 from the HP website, as you suggested, and I found that it runs my LaserJet 400! And now I have the double-sided printing capability that I wanted. I just now printed out some double-sided pages to prove it.
I never even considered that a driver for a different HP printer might run this one, but it does. It offers options for printing color that this printer does not have, since the HP 400 is only a black-and-white (or grayscale) printer, and the driver thinks it is running a color printer, but I can simply ignore those.
So the HP Color LaserJet 500 driver for OS 10.5.8 is able to run the HP LaserJet 400 monochrome printer. Whodathunk!
Other HP LaserJet 400 owners running 10.5.8 take note!
    Thank-you very much BDAqua!

  • Where can we find the VMIPCI-5565's driver ?

I have to develop a VMIC's refelective memory card VMIPCI-5565 in Labview but I can't find the driver. A friend gave me link as : http://sine.ni.com/apps/we/niid_web_display.download_page?p_id_guid=E3B19B3E919C659CE034080020E74861  .
However, it seems to be the driver for VMIPMC-5565. I searched but there were no satisfactory answer.
I noticed that the driver that Downloaded from this link was based on the VISA node of Laview, so it means that it's universal for all the memory cards, at least for the PCI-5565?
And I cannot find the VMIPCI5565 with the nodes in the library of driver!!
    OOps!

Are you  both still looking for help with this?

  • Where can I find the generic usb-midi driver?

    Hello All,
I'm having trouble with logic recording any midi signal as having latency. This is not the usual buffer question as I'm not concerned about a laggy audio playback when I depress a midi key - I'm more concerned about having logic record what midi I play exactly when I play it.
In an effort to solve the issue, I thought I'd try to re-install the generic usb-midi drivers that come with osx, but I can't find them - can anyone point me in the right direction? Are there "better" drivers?
If you're interested in the original problem or think you might have a solution, the original thread is here:

How can this be normal? If logic can't track a midi performance accurately then that's a huge flaw... What are other artists doing to work around this? Mousing everything is not an attractive option.
MIDI is an old protocol, and not a very fast one.
Different audio devices and different audio device drivers take different amounts of time to process audio and bring it to the outputs, or to process audio that comes IN through the inputs and is recorded, resulting in different latency for different interfaces.
This is normal, and completely expected - once you've read up on the basics of computer-aided recording, which is why people are telling you to read up on "latency" in the Logic manual.
This is why Logic has come with latency adjustment for playback/recording and MIDI output (positive or negative) for years and years - another reason why people are telling you to read up on "latency" in the Logic manual.

  • Where can I find a NVDIA GeForce 9400 driver upgrade?

imac9.1 is continually crashing. The problem report is indicating it is in "com.apple.GeForce(5.4.8)".
I assume what I need is to upgrade the NVIDIA GeForce 9400 driver, but I can't find it anywhere,
not even on the official NVIDIA site.  Anybody know ehre I can find it?

Hi, we're stuck with what Apple gives us in the OS, before reinstalling 10.5, try reinstalling the big 10.5.8 combo.
    Repair Permissions afterwords, reboot.
    1058 Combo Update, 10.5.8...
    http://support.apple.com/downloads/Mac_OS_X_10_5_8_Combo_Update
One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
    Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport, or some USB or Firewire device, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

  • Where can I find HP Memories Disc for download? Uninstalling it caused problems.

I uninstalled HP Memories Disc and now my computer prompts me to reinstall it when I open various unrelated programs.  It's supremely frustrating and the only solution seems to be to reinstall it.  However I have no idea where my discs are for this computer, probably in a landfill somewhere.
I found a download page on the HP site for this software but it doesn't seem to offer the software itself, just drivers relating to it, and any event does not offer a Windows 7 version.
    This question was solved.

    Hi RWCPii,
You likely don't need that application, and I'm not sure if there is a Win 7 version. What is the exact message you are getting and what are the applications that cause the error message?
