  • Where can I find the "Macintosh HD" icon?

I recently got a new MacBook Air, but I cannot find the "Macintosh HD" or Hard Drive on the Desktop or under the Devices tab in the Finder.  Where can I access my hard drive?

Select Preferences from the Finder's Finder menu, click on the General icon in the toolbar. Check the boxes for items you want displayed on the Desktop. Click on the Sidebar icon and you can also configure what's displayed in the sidebar.

  • HT1752 Where can I find old Macintosh SE games?

I was strolling through a Salvation Army the other day and out of the corner of my eye, something caught my attention. A Macintosh SE. It was listed at $25 and the store was having a 50% store wide sale. So for the low price of only $12.50, I was the proud owned of a Mac SE. It was missing the keyboard and mouse, but I already ordered a set via eBay and it is on it's way.
I would love to play some old games on this thing, but since it has a 800k floppy drive, it is difficult to download games using modern computers. I therefore am looking for a place to purchase games for my new, err...old Mac. Any ideas? Either that, or is there an easy way to download games and transfer them to it?
    Any advice would be great.

    Hi,
Yes, the 800K drive means that another pre-1998 Macintosh computer would be needed as an intermediary for floppy transfers.
Is it an SE with an internal hard drive (there were versions with only floppy drives as well)? Which operating system?
A null-modem transfer between a more modern computer and an SE is per se possible, but it would require access to a suitable terminal emulation program with file transfer capabilities (communications program) on the SE's hard disk or on a floppy (800K). See the discussion below for some details about null-modem connections:

  • Where can I find a guide / How to about how to upgrade using SM?

    Dear Doron
Solution Manager system will never physically participate in the upgrade of a Netweaver Server. It will only help you to find the right files via the maintenance optimizer. Also if you want to develop / use a Project for your upgrade you could use the upgrade roadmap and then use Solution Manager as a Project Management tool for the upgrade.
Besides this there will be no guide available for "upgrading" a system, since the upgrade roadmap is generic and the maintenance optimizer feature is isolated from the roadmap. You will have to follow the upgrade guides available on
    http://service.sap.com/instguides.
Hope that this answers your query.

  • Where can I find a startup disk for Powermac 7600?

When I tried to boot my powermac 7600 i received the '?' icon in the center of the screen.  So I thought I would try to boot from the startup disk.  Uh-Oh, I seem to have lost my startup disk to my powermac 7600.  Where can I find a start up disk?  Or is their another way around the issue?

A Disk Tools PPC file can be found via Apple's Older Software Downloads list (http://www.info.apple.com/support/oldersoftwarelist.html).
    http://download.info.apple.com/Apple_Support_Area/Apple_Software_Updates/English -North_American/Macintosh/System/Mac_OS_8.1_Update/Disk_Tools_PPC.img.bin
A floppy from the above file should work as a startup disk for your computer (it is intended for Mac OS 8.1 and Mac OS Extended, but it should at least allow you to boot the 7600). However, the problem is that you would have to locate someone with another old (pre-1998) Macintosh computer with Disk Copy 6.3.3 (the Make a Floppy command under the Utilities menu) in order to create the floppy.

  • Where can I find the a downloaded file by Software update?

Where can I find the a downloaded file by Software update?
For example is there any way to find a package which is downloaded but is not installed(because the installation failed) (in this case 10.5.5) and I don't want to download it once again neither manually nor with software update.

    In ~/Downloads

Failed installs usually remove the package, just as a proper install removes the package
All that remains for a proper installation is a Receipt in on of the following directories:
    ~/Library/Receipts (for user-specific installs)
    Macintosh HD/Library/Receipts
for system-wide installations, including OS-X updates.
and I don't want to download it once again neither manually nor with software update.
If it did not install, there is no Receipt and the downloaded file is not on your system
If you don't want to see it again in automatic updates, put it on ignore.

  • Where can I find a version of Google Earth that I can download using OS X 10.5.8?

Google Earth says it requires OS X 10.6. Where can I find a download that will work with OS X 10.5.8? Thanks!

Force quit Google Earth if it is open.  Then, if there is a copy of Google Earth in your Applications folder, drag the Google Earth on your desktop to the trash.  Don't empty the trash yet.
Open the Google Earth from the one in the Applications folder.  If this is the first time you used it from the Applications folder, you might get the message, "this is an appliaction you downloaded from the internet.  Do you want to open it?"  Open it, let load completely, quit it, and open it again.  The message should not reappear.
    Now empty the trash.
Restart your computer.  Does Google Earth reappear on your desktop?  If so, there is probably a LaunchAgent for it in your Macintosh HD> Users> your user name> Library> LaunchAgents folder.  You can remove it.  It could be under the Macintosh HD> Library> LaunchAgents or Launch Daemons or StartupItems folders.
I can't remember exactly where it was, but I hated it appearing on my desktop, and I removed from one or more of these locations.
    Good luck.

  • Where can I find help about configuring forms?

    Hi, everyone,
I want to develop web-based application using forms 9i, but I don't know how to configue my developing enviroment. I searched in forms online help and otn website, but I found nothing, except some articles about forms service. but I don't think I need install forms service when I develop my application. so who can be so nice to tell me where can I find help about this problem.
besides, after creating a database in my local machine, how can I connect with it in foms?
    thank you very much!

If you installed Oracle9iDS you'll have everything configured for you. (It basically work the same way as the Oracle9iAS Forms Services so all the documents are still relevant). For a quick understanding of the configuration files check out this document: http://otn.oracle.com/products/forms/pdf/forms9icstowebmigration.pdf
To connect to your database you need to create a SQL*NET connection and add an entry to your tnsnames.ora using the SQL*NET easy configuration tool.

  • Where can I find my Messages logs?

I'm looking to save all of my current conversations from the Messages app. Where can I find the actual file logs in Yosemite? ~/Library/Messages only contains a plugins file.

    Hi,
This (note Path Bar across the bottom)
    is not the Home Folder/Library.
    This one is
On your Mac there are three Libraries that you can easily access.
There is the one your describe Hard drive/Library
    The one in Hard Drive/System/Library.
And the one in Hard Drive/Users/Your Shortname(home folder)/Library also known as ~/Library for short.
My Hard Drive is called Macintosh Int HD (for Internal as I have an Cloned External that ended up with the same name)
To access the Home folder one you need to hold down the ALT key whilst using the Go Menu in any Finder window.
