I recently purchased a used Macbook 1,1. It has I tunes 6 installed on it, however, my Ipod shuffle requires I tunes 7.2. I have downloaded several free versions yielded from Googling the phrase " i tunes 7.2 download." All of these downloads appear as blank sheets of paper on my desktop that are useless. I have tried nearly all of the downloads from the search. The Apple website also did not yield anything. Is there a solution to this problem? I am clearly not tech/Mac saavy and just want to be able to use my Ipod shuffle! I appreciate any answers you experts out there may have! Thank you.

After some more research, I found that my Mac Os X system was actually updated to 4.11 and is indeed compatible with the newest version of Itunes 9.1. I simply needed to update Quicktime and it is now running!

Where can I find OS 10.4.11 to install to my old PowerBook G4?

I have an old Powerbook G4 on which I had installed OS 10.4.11,
but I can't seem to find the cd to reinstall. It is running a bit slow as it has been many years, and I wanted to format the hard drive and reinstall the same OS.
I also have Mac OS leopard, but i think it might be too heavy for this old machine.
1. What is the latest OS I can put on this powerbook so that it still runs smoothly?
2. If i want to install 10.4.11 where can I find it?

Tiger install DVDs are in short supply. Tiger is no longer available at the Apple Store *but may be available for $129 by calling Apple Phone Sales @ 1-800-MY-APPLE (1-800-692-7753)*. Where can i find Version Info for airport software, installed on my Imac

I graded up to Tiger , afterwards the Airport Software update 4.2 was not offered anymore in the Apples Software Update;
So i guessed that it somehow updated allthough i didnt want it.
But i am not quite sure what this Airport Software update 4.2 really means;
Airprt admin.utility version is 4.1.1 now. So i am not sure if the update 4.2 is done or not.
Where can i look up to find out which Airport software version is actually installed on my computer?
I searched the forum and google but i couldnt figure this out.
So i would be very glad if someone could help me by an explanation or by a link!

The AirPort Admin Utility, version 4.2, can be found within the download from the website you referenced.
Here's how to get it.
o Download the disk image AirPortSW42.dmg. If the installer launches, quit the installer.
o Double-click the disk image to mount a volume named "AirPort 4.2 Update."
o Within the AirPort 4.2 Update window, ctrl-click on "AirPortSW.pkg."
o Select "Show Package Contents."
o Open the "Contents" folder.
o Double-click the "Archive.pax.gz" file, which causes an "Archive.pax" file and an "Archive" folder to be extracted to the desktop.
o Open the "Archive" folder, the "Applications" folder within it, and the "Utilities" folder within that.
o Both the AirPort Admin Utility and AirPort Setup Assistant are in there. You can move either or both to Applications/Utilities and discard everything else that was downloaded.

You might need to first deactivate Acrobat from the Help menu on your old machine.
Then, you can download Acrobat X Pro from the below mentioned link and activate the software (from Help menu) with the same serial key:
Download Acrobat products | Standard, Pro | DC, XI, X
Please note that you can activate and run Acrobat software on maximum two machines (say your desktop at work and laptop at home)
In order to use it on third machine, you need to first deactivate it from any of the old computers.

I tried to view the trace or log file but we have SAP installed on a linux OS and I do not know where can we see the log or trace file. Please help.

You can set the trace level in the SAP/Java Gui dynamically :
Call transaction SMICM
Choose the menu Goto → Trace Level → Set
In the pop-up window, set the desired level (0,1,2,3)
To switch on an /nSMICM or ICM HTTP trace via command line you should go to
usr\sap\<SID>\<instance_number>\exe directory and run the icmon program with the following command:
icmon◦◦pf=\usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\profile\<SID>_<instance_name>_<HOST>
where you fill in the SID, instance name and host corresponding to your system.
The icmon program is interactive and to increase trace level you must write
"+" and pres enter.To quit you must write "q" and press enter.
The trace will be written◦to the following file: usr\sap\<SID>\<instance_number>\work\dev_icm

The Eclipse web site doesn't seem to have a "how to install this" document -
although I might have missed something...
For Windows, I have always unzipped the downloaded file and just fired up the
executable - ie it doesn't seem to need to be "installed". (If you need to you can set
the java runtime to be used and the location of startup.jar: but the former is only
a concern if you have multiple runtimes, and I've never needed to set the latter except
on Linux where Eclipse is started via a link in /usr/bin or whereever).

What's available is what the record companies and artists have licensed Apple to sell in your country. There is no genre for "acoustic" or "unplugged", though, so what is there may be a bit tricky to find. You can try doing a Power Search with "unplugged" or "acoustic" in the album title field, but that will of course only find those albums which have those words actually in the title. Otherwise, you may have to look for album titles for acoustic music on some other site and then look for the specific album in the iTunes Store.

Photos are not saved in your iTunes library. You can use iTunes to sync photos from your computer to your phone, but they are stored on your hard drive. Camera roll photos are contained in your iPhone backup, but not in as way that allows you to view them; they are only backed up so your phone can be restored later, if necessary. Where can I find XP x64 drivers for Portege R500 - hotkey / power management?

Where can I find downloads that will enable power management or hotkey support for my Portege R500?
I have already installed drivers for everything except fingerprint reader (don't want), tpm (really don't want), and hdd motion sensor (tos620a) (not bothered about right now). Most drivers are latest from original vendor websites, or, failing those, from Toshiba's Vista 64-bit download areas.
Everything else generally works: wifi, graphics & chipset, sound, lan, bluetooth stack, cardbus, card reader, etc.
However, having done this, the following issues remain:
FN hotkeys don't work for suspend to ram, suspend to disk, *screen* *brightness* - essential to extending lifetime; FN hotkeys for numeric/direction pad, external monitor toggle *do* work
Dedicated backlight toggle button doesn't do anything
However, in order to get battery lifetime beyond ~2.5 hours and closer to the rated 7.1 hours, I'll need to turn some things down / off occasionally. What software can help and where can I get it, such that it works on Windows XP x64 edition?
Note:
I have tried the xp 32-bit packages that Toshiba supplies, they don't appear to work on x64. The 'ctrls' package requires 'cmod', but 'cmod' gives this error:

I have tried the xp 32-bit package called 'pwrsav'; it installs a bad help link to my start menu, and adds a couple of exes, tpsmain and tpsoddctl, to my auto-runs. These 32-bit executables quit immediately after execution.
I would have tried to install Toshiba's Vista 64-bit packages for hotkeys / common modules / power management, but the only one of the three I can find via toshiba.co.uk are common modules, and unfortunately that zip file only contains .inf, .cat and .sys files, no installer.
Motivation:
I'm using a fresh install both because the default Vista install is unusable (900MB memory used on a fresh boot desktop, drive split into multiple partitions, trial, adware and broken software installed left and right)
I'm using x64 because I'm a software engineer whose next product needs to work on x64, and this new laptop was a likely first candidate

You didn't link to the tool you found. If you meant this tool then, you should be aware it doesn't work on x64 on R500:

It would be unlikely to work in any case, as display driver brightness isn't normally the same as the screen's brightness (hence power usage).
Maybe it's a communication issue, but I *have* found +original+ drivers for all essential components, just not for things like screen brightness - something that, to be honest, I more expect to be handled in firmware / bios, as that's been my experience on previous laptops, and is more reliable in any case, considering I could be running an oddball Linux or a completely different OS, or a CPU-intensive high-priority task.
The R500 series seem to be scrimping on the firmware and expecting OS utilities and dedicate yet another system tray icon to take over that job.
It does look like x64 is a no-go for mobile use on this machine, due to lack of firmware power management, which is a great pity as the point of such a light machine is mobility. I'll wipe it and install XP 32-bit and see how that goes.
