Warning: If you encrypt an iPhone backup in iTunes and then forget your password, you will not be able to restore from backup and your data will be unrecoverable. If you forget the password you can continue to do backups and use the device, however you will not be able to restore the encrypted backup to any device without the password. You do not need to enter the password for your backup each time you back up or sync.
If you cannot remember the password and want to start again, you will have to do a full software restore and when prompted by iTunes to select the backup to restore from, choose Set up as a new device.

where can I find the Iphone backup files?

The following claims the ability to extract Notes from a backup made using iTunes. I haven't used it so can't comment on how well it works. Once extracted the Notes would be readable on your computer but you would still need to get them back to the new phone. http://www.wideanglesoftware.com/ibackupextractor/

  • Where can i find my Iphone backup within Itunes

To assure that calendar, contacts, pictures, movies are synchronized correctly from my Iphone > Itune, -where within Itune on my PC can I find and see the data assuring that I have a full backup ?
Did it in Itune via the -  right click on Iphone - create security copy (in Swedish - skapa säkerhetskopia).
Need it secured since my Iphone is going for service (microphone disabled, head-set activated all the time).

Magnus - seems pasting you the info is a bit beneath some so here it is:
    Where backups are stored
The folder where your backup data is stored changes depending on the computer's operating system. Since iTunes only keeps one backup per device, you should ensure the backup folder is included in your periodic data backup routine.
iTunes places the backup files in the following places:
    Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
    Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
    Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Note: If you do not see the AppData or Application Data folders, you may need to show hidden files (Windows XP,  Windows Vista and Windows 7), or iTunes may not be installed in the default location. Show hidden files and then search the hard drive for the Backup directory

  • Where can i find my iPhone backups on Mac OS X Lion?

    Hi,
I don't know how to find the "mobilesync" folder under Mac OS X Lion.
In Snow Leopard it was ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup..
But in Lion the MobileSync folder has dissapeared..
Does anyone know where I can find them?
    Thanks!

    Apple hid the User Library.
Click GO -> GO To Folder
Enter "~/Library" (without quotes) in the textbox. Click GO. This will take you to your User Library
    Open the Application Support folder
Scroll down to the MobileSync folder
You should now see your Backup folder that you can open to view your backups.

  • Where can I find the Reminders data file in Mountain Lion?

    Hi,
Does anyone know where I can find the data file for the reminders in Mountain Lion?  When I recently synced my iPad to iMac it deleted the 50+ reminders that were on the iMac.  I have done hourly backups with time machine but would like to know where to go to find these to reinstate them.
Also, does anyone knows how to turn off the reminders sync as I'm not using iCloud and there does not appear to be any option to sync reminders in iTunes?
    Thanks a bunch!!

    Hi,
in JDeveloper 11 the deployment is in the project properties. I am not sure they are written to the file system anymore

  • Where can I find my iphone backup files in windows 7?

My computer died and all I have left is the hard drive.  Fortunately it is in good working order and is readable.  I successfully transfered all of my apps and music, but cannot find my pairing information.  Consequently, I cannot sync my devices.  Where are my iphone and ipad backup files located?

    Hello Thom,
Good to hear that you are still able to recover information from your old hard drive.  I found an article that provides the locations of the iOS backup files:
    Windows Vista and Windows 7: \Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Note: To quickly access the AppData folder, click Start. In the search bar, type %appdata% and press theReturn key.
You can find the full article here:

I hope this helps get you back on track!

  • Can't find my iphone backup password

Where can I find my iphone backup password?

Where ever you put it. Though, writing down a password is very poor security practice. If you don't have a record of it, there's no way to recover it.

  • HT201269 where can i find the file/backup file on my account?and how to sync data files one by one manually as i have been told to do so to avoid error restore from my existing backup files from your Sydney Apple Store yesterday? i want my old messages, n

where can i find my data/backup file on my account? thanks

The restore from backup process is all or nothing, & if you've been told NOT to restore from backup, there is no supported way to "selectively" restore an iPhone backup. You can use third-party software to "extract" data from your backup:

  • I can't find my iPhone backup in Mac OS X Lion.

After upgraded to Lion, I can't find my iPhone backups any more at  ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup, but they still show up in iTunes though. Does anyone know where the new location is? Or it's now hidden?
    Thanks!

from my understanding "other" are files/data that are not recognized by your Mac. Same with our iOS devices
Here's an example, Im a big anime fan so I have a folder with tons of animes having a format of .mkv
my mac does not recognize this that's why it falls under "others". Any file format that's not supported by your native Mac applications are considered others
If you want to know where these files are located, use "omnidisk sweeper"

Where do I find my iPhone backups on my PC?

The best way to get photos from your iPhone to your PC is described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083
If you want to extract content from your backup you will need a 3rd party iPhone backup extractor. There are quite a few; google for it, and choose a free or inexpensive one.

Where can i find my iPhone 'Notes' on my PC? Apple have suggested I don't restore my replacement iPhone from a previous back up as they feel it may be corrupt, but I need my 'Notes'

    Hello Pseal
There are tow ways you can handle this. One is to copy the notes to your computer using iTunes to send them to Outlook. The other would be to create or have an iCloud account so that the notes are synced online and then all you have to do is sign back in to get them. The following article will assist with troubleshooting the issue.
