    It would be on your box.  If you registered it with Apple, you could also sign into your support profile and see it there (https://supportprofile.apple.com/MySupportProfile.do).  Finally, if you ever backed it up using iTunes you can go to iTunes preferences>Devices and hover you mouse over the backup to reveal the serial number.

    OK I followed all steps on that page. I was able to connect to https://ims-na1.adobelogin.com/renga-idprovider/resources/img/logos.png to see the two logos but was not able to connect to https://lm.licenses.adobe.com/. I reset my hosts file, checked the certificate, and went through my firewall and router. I can't find anything that is preventing me from seeing https://lm.licenses.adobe.com/. My apps still will not register.
    I also followed the last link to https://exception.licenses.adobe.com/aoes/aoes/v1/t1?locale=en to enable offline registration but these directions do not apply to CC. I see no screen that allows me to begin offline registration.

    I checked your account to see if I could tell whether you had an Acrobat subscription or perpetual version, but I don't see any record of either using the email address that you use to post here in the forums.
    So, if you have a perpetual version (you bought Acrobat outright), then please see this document: Find your serial number quickly.
    If you have a subscription version, then no serial number is required, and you "activate" your software by logging in with the Adobe ID/email address and password that you used to sign up.

    ive been trying to export a final cut file  to a .mov. i keep getting a codec error and recently got compressor however when i try to export using compressor it asks for a serial number that i dont have because the app store never gave me one.

    Compressor 4 does not give a serial number, it only runs on Mac's that are "authorized" for your iTunes/App Store account.
    If it's asking for a s/n, sounds like you're launching an old, unregistered Compressor 3.5 version.  Launch from the Applications menu, not from the Dock.

    That's a myth. Even users on supprot plans don't have that luxury as downloadable versions only go so far back and then you stil lhave to pay the support. If you never were on any of these plans and purchased your software as a download back then, there is no way to get it this way now - at least not officially from Adobe. Anyway, as Bob said, without a valid serial this is a circular argument and it is even with regards to a possible upgrade to CS5.5 - no serial, no upgrade, no install.

    The serial number was included in the box ARD came in; the Apple Store will not have a record of it. If you've lost the serial number, you'll need to purchase a new copy of ARD, probably a good idea anyway since 2.2 won't run on any version of Mac OS X since, if memory serves, 10.4. It's a lot cheaper through the Mac App Store than it was back when you first purchased.
