Where can I find Oracle 8i intel solaris ver.?

I installed intel-solaris on my PC. and I need to install oracle DB for study,
but I can't find it. Should I buy oracle 8i?
Thanks for your help.

I got Oracle8i, I believe 8.1.5, from Sun as a part of the package, when I got my Solaris8 for Intel.
I had to go to the Oracle Store to get Oracle8i 8.1.7. (http://oraclestore.oracle.com/OA_HTML/ibeCCtpSctDspRte.jsp?section=11539)
I ordered the CD Pack.
Sorry I do not know where it can be downloaded.

My Oracle Support ... and only if you have a paid-up support contract.  Actually, I'm not sure 9i would be available even then.  10g is only available to those with a paid-up sustaining support contract.  9i is so old (hasn't been supported in this millennium) I wouldn't be surprised it is not available at any price.  Further, I doubt it was ever certified for RHEL 5.  Hard to tell since the documentation isn't even available .....
Just out of curiosity, why would you be needing such an antique?

    Hi,
If you are using Solaris8 then international versions of Solaris8 has the CD labeled Solaris8 Languages. This CD contains required packages for Asian locale.
I would recommend you to visit http://docs.sun.com for more information.
In earlier versions, Asian CD contains all packages for Asian locale.
    Thanks,
    Santosh

  • Where can i find oracle 11g csi number

    Hi oracle Lord’s
This is Arun, I’m facing some problem while I installing oracle 11g on my machine. I downloaded oracle 11g from the below link
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/enterprise-edition/downloads/index.html.
While I installing oracle 11g it will ask CSI Number, from where can I get the CSI number.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Arun M M

You need to buy from your local oracle partner. This is the customer service identification number which need to log in to metalink support. But you don't need CSI to install oracle database. Avoid to check the latest patch version which need the CSI for connecting metalink.
In this paper we will install the 11.2.0.1 release of Oracle Database 11g. This is the base distribution of Oracle Database 11g release 2. Be sure to check Oracle Support’s Metalink at http://metalink.oracle.com to see if a newer patch set has been released since this paper was published. You will need a valid Customer Service Identifier (CSI) number in order to access the Metalink website.
    Source : http://www.dbspecialists.com/oracle11glinux.html
    Also,
2.4 Preinstallation Requirements for Oracle Configuration Manager
During installation, you are prompted to provide information required to enable Oracle Configuration Manager. In the event that you need to place a service request with Oracle Support, the configuration information can help to provide a more rapid resolution to the service issue.
You can enable Oracle Configuration Manager during or after installation, or choose not to enable it. To enable it during installation, you must have the following information available:
Customer Support Identification Number (CSI) that identifies your organization
    OracleMetalink user account name
Country code associated with your service agreement
So, don't install OCM during the installation.

  • Where can I find oracle.toplink.tools.migration.TopLinkCmpMigrator?

    Hi All
I am trying to find this class so I can start the toplink workbench - any ideas where I can get it ? its not in the toplink.jar as mentioned in the Oracle documentation
    Thanks

From the documentation, it says you have to have
    <TOPLINK_HOME>/jlib/cmpmigrator.jar
on the classpath, which is where the oracle.toplink.tools.migration.TopLinkCMPMigrator class can be found.
This is from the 10.1.3 docs at:
    http://download-west.oracle.com/otn_hosted_doc/toplink/1013/MAIN/_html/asinteg003.htm#BABGFHIA

  • Where can I find Oracle's LOBFrame

    Hi again.
In the codes LOBSample, there was a reference to LOBFrame :
    import java.sql.*; import java.util.*; import java.awt.*; import java.io.*; public class LOBSample {   LOBFrame gui;   public LOBSample()   { gui =newLOBFrame(this);     ...   } ... }
Some people told me it must be a mistake because there is no such method.
Can the person who gave me a cryptic hint tell me where I can find LOBFrame please.
    THX

    Hi Arthur,
    Belated answer
The LOB Sample demonstrates how to Insert and Retrieve a CLOB and BLOB with the database. It shows how text (CLOB)and images (BLOB) can be
used with the database using JDBC.
All the JDBC samples in OTN Sample Code follow a patterns .i.e the source files *Sample.java (LOBSample.java)contains the technical features demonstrated by the sample
and *Frame.java (LOBFrame.java) holds the user interface part. Its split so that the user doesn't have to go thru the code that does user handling(swing and awt code).
To download the complete sample (LOBSample.jar) click below
    http://otn.oracle.com/sample_code/tech/java/sqlj_jdbc/files/advanced/LOBSample/LOBSample.jar
To view the steps for installing and running the sample

    HI All
I came to know that Oracle do not share test cases they used for testing Out of the box pips. Also, oracle do not share any tests cases documents that cane be used for reference by customers to test Oracle AIA communications pips out of the box.
I am currently working on Oracle AIA communications PIPs 11.2 . In case, any one have test case documents prepared to test communications PIPS, please share them with me.

  • Where can I find Oracle 8.1.6.1 ODBC Driver

I am looking for Oracle 8.1.6.1 ODBC Driver. The current downloads at Oracle site do not have the exact version. I would appreciate if anybody could direct me to the link where I can get this driver.
    Thanks
    null

Is there a reason that you can't use the newer 8.1.6.2 driver? Generally, Oracle doesn't make all the older versions available for download.

  • Where can I find Oracle Discoverer Plus Download?

<email address removed by moderator so that you won't get spammed for all Eternity>
    can someone guide me please?
    thanks
    Fernand

    Hello
You need to install the 11.1.1.2 base software and then apply patch 11.1.1.6.
The base software is available from Oracle e delivery by starting here: https://edelivery.oracle.com
You need to log in with your OTN login and password and accept the license terms.
Once logged in, on the search form enter Oracle Fusion Middleware in the Select a Product Pack box then select your platform below.
With both filled in click the Go button
On the next page scroll down till you find the entry called Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g Media Pack for 11.1.1.6.0 - click the link
On the next page scroll down till you find the downloads for Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer 11g (11.1.1.2.0) - there will probably be several files to download
The patch is also available from e delivery on the same page as the 11.1.1.2 and is usually located one entry down below the other others. Unlike 11.1.1.2 which comes in multiple files the patch for 11.1.1.6 is nearly always a single large file between 1.5 and 2.0 GB in size
Note: when you install 11.1.1.2 you do a software only install. When you apply the patch you just install it using setup. When both are done you need to run the config.bat (or config.sh) file from within the Middleware bin folder.
Note 2: you must also have downloaded and installed weblogic 10.3.6 and created a repository for Discoverer using RCU 11.1.1.6
Your full list of software therefore is:
    1. Java JDK
    2. Equivalent JAVA client
    3. RCU 11.1.1.6
    4. Install Weblogic
    5. Install Discoverer 11.1.1.2 software only
    6. Install Discoverer 11.1.1.6 patch
    7. Configure Discoverer using config.bat or config.sh
    Hope this helps
    Michael
PS. I will be covering installing the software in my upcoming Oracle Discoverer 11g Handbook which is scheduled for release early 2013

I tried to find an archive which name is "Parsing XML Efficiently", and the linkage to it is "http://www.oracle.com/technology/oramag/oracle/03-sep/o53devxml.html", but cannot find it actually. I also found all the magazines that are prior to 2006 are gone.

I think you can report the broken link in the {forum:id=165} forum, maybe someone could help you there.
