  • Where can i get new install discs for my macbook 2008 alluminum  model

I seemed the misplaced my discs for my macbook early 2008 unibody (silver), i just got a new hd after my old one died and need to install the OS obviously. I was wondering where i would be able to acquire some discs? I have got my sisters discs from her macbook pro from late 2011, the OS version is 10.6.3 but they dont seem to want to install, i get an error before i can begin the install that says something along the lines of "not able to install this software on this macbook".
Would i be able to buy the OSX snow lepoard disc from the apple website?and would that work perfectly or?
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
edit: just looking at the model/build page and i found this:
    MacBook (13-inch, Aluminum, Late 2008)
    Oct 2008
    10.5.5
    10.5.6
    9F2088, 9F2533, 9G2133
    that is my model.

Call Apple using the appropriate phone number on this page. They may make a small charge for the new disks.
    Best of luck.

  • Where can I get the Boot Disk for my macbook pro? Downloading OSX Lion is taking too long

I got a macbook pro that was owned by someone for a few days before. I tried to restore to factory setting but now downloading OSX Lion is taking forever with my internet connection. Can anyone help me find a boot Disk to speed up the process?

Apple no longer sells a Lion installation USB flash drive (they did at one time). SO you'll just have to wait for the download to complete. It's best to 'hard-wire' the download - not over wifi but with an Ethernet cable connected directly to your router. That will gain you some speed.
You could also try taking your MBP to a friend's home where they may have a faster Internet service. My download speed is 22+Mbps with my cable company - you may have a friend or neighbor who has something similar? Of course, you are always at the mercy of Apple's servers - sometimes they're just overloaded and a download that should take 20 minutes can take up to an hour and one-half.
    Good luck,

Otherwise you will need to search other vendors to purchase it. AppleCare will sell you replacements for the original discs that came with the computer.

  • Where can I get Window's software for my Macbook Pro? I'm trying to run ARCview. However, it requires Windows. I'm trying Bootcamp. but, it isn't recognising the disk that I currently have.

Maybe because it's not a 'genuine' retail version? Many OEM versions just don't work - and I've no idea which flavor of Win7 your friend downloaded. Obviously one that Boot Camp doesn't recognize. Best to just pony up the cash for a full retail version, of some flavor - and use it. You COULD, of course, download the 14-day trial version of Parallels Desktop and see if you can install Win7 as a virtual machine... it might or might not work. Boot Camp just isn't finding the resources it needs on the copy you have - try Parallels and if that doesn't work just purchase a retail (or student discounted) version.

  • Where can I buy a "boot disc" for my 2008 IMac?

I just got rid of bootcamp from my IMac and when I was updating my IMac (which had not been updated since purchasing it in Aug 2008), the computer restarted and upon restarting a black screen appeared. the screen said to insert a "boot disk" and then press any key. As I do not have a boot disk I cannot insert it and carry on... Where can i purchase a boot disk for my mac or how can I solve this issue?

you need to order one from AppleCare.

Hi, Josh. Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
You can try giving Apple a call to see if they have the original system CDs available. If they have them, they will send them to you for a fee.
There is no download for Mac OS X 10.4. You need to buy a full retail version.

  • Where can I get a replacement drive for my Macbook 2007?

My hard disk on my 2007 Macbook died. Where can I get a replacement?
    Any ideas on third party?

For a new hard drive try Newegg.com

To transfer your current hard drive I like the applications Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper. They make a bootable copy of everything on your hard drive. http://www.bombich.com/index.html or http://www.shirt-pocket.com/SuperDuper/SuperDuperDescription.html
You'll need a cheap SATA external hard drive case. Put the new drive in the case then format and partition the new drive and clone your old drive to the new one. Check that it's set up right by booting up from the external drive. Then replace your old hard drive with the new one and put your old one in the external case.

  • Where can I get a new battery for my Macbook?

I have a macbook purchased in 2007. The battery will not charge. works great in 120v. where can I get a new battery?

This one looks like it will work with your computer: http://www.amazon.com/Laptop-Battery-Select-Apple-MacBooks/dp/B001SH2AVQ

  • Where can I get a new body for my MacBook?

I'm looking for a new body for my MacBook (2007) the body of my Mac is very scratched and somewhat dented so...
This would include a replacement Back Shell (By the lit up Apple) A front shell (goes around the screen) New Keys, New platform (Goes around keys) New Side Panel (By the Disk slot, and all the ports)

You could be on the lookout for a similar MacBook that has an internal failure
of some major components -- where only the outer cases were still good.
Most places online which sell retail are not priced for the wholesale or tech
market, those persons would be looking elsewhere to jobber sources.
    {another reseller to the public: wegenermedia.com}
If you can identify the computer accurately, you may have to piece-meal locate
parts to put together a frankincense mobster MacBook. It may walk/look funny...
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Where can I get a case specifically for my MacBook Pro with Retina Display?

I really want to get a case/sleeve that really fits my MacBook Pro with Retina Display; however, everywhere I look only has cases for the regular 15" MacBook Pro. I want something that has a tight fit on my Retina. Any ideas?

My guess is they wouldn't introduce new production line just for the 1 or two milimeter difference. They will probably just change their marketing material and websites to add Retina as compatible. Then again I'm not a manufacturer.
In reality though, apart from hard-shell cases/sheilds that have to attach directly on the laptop, the cases and sleeves are already compatible.
