Where can I get firefox

Now that Apple seem to have blocked JavaScript so that I can no longer run a piece of software under safari or google, someone else has told me it will run (with Java) under Firefox.
But I don;t seem to have it on my Mac Pro - nor can I see it in the app store.
Any ideas?

You installed the Oracle Java 7 plugin, which is insecure and has been blocked by Apple. To revert to the Java 6 plugin, which is not blocked, follow these instructions:

All versions of Java should be considered insecure. Enable Java in your web browser only when absolutely necessary, and disable it as soon as you're done with whatever task requires it. Using Java for non-essential purposes, such as playing games on a website, is inadvisable.

There isn't one by that revision number. The previous secure version is 3.6.17
To revert to that, please do the following:

The Current Firefox release allows to save a name and password from sites that have a log in form with autocomplete="off".
If you want to disable this new feature then you can toggle the signon.storeWhenAutocompleteOff pref to false on the about:config page with a double-click.
You can open the about:config page via the location bar and you can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
Can you access the saved passwords?

There is a slight conflict of identity among three sources.
Two say it was made in week 29 July 2005. Each shows

Phoenix and Firebird were what Firefox was called before Firefox was settled on in 2004, and both used "birds" as the logo. IIRC, the dinosaur was used in the Mozilla Suite.

Adobe's Flash player is already on my computer from IE 8. How can I get Firefox to see that it is already on my PC and use it so I don't have to download it again and possibly create other problems. Also, in my efforts to download Flash, Firefox activated IE which made me concerned that proceeding WOULD cause problems our just leave me where I am now where IE can use Flask but Firefox cannot.

Internet Explorer uses a ActiveX version of the Flash player plugin as it does not work with other browsers.
Download the Plugin-based browsers version from https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html and make sure Firefox is closed when you install it.
