Where can i get good practical exercises

i am learning Java, using <Thinking in Java>, but i found the exercise after every chapter limite in practising the syntax. Doing these exercise doesn't make me a great sense of accomplishment. I want some exercises such as small projects where can i find them?

i'm doing the same thing, teaching my self java. i just make up my own exercises. first, i made a little applet calculator. and now, i'm writing a paint program. figuring out what to program is the hardest part. after that, it's just a matter of dedication, and time. next, i want to make an environment into which "webanimals" are introduced to survive, breed, or be eaten by other "webanimals." just a model of some elemntary ecological theory, really. reading some of the forums here may help give you some ideas.
i can say that you will get much more satisfaction out of a project you choose yourself, rather than one given to you in a book. i was very pleased when my calculator worked the way i wanted it to. you can check it out if you like. http://www.theshop.net/jason/Calculator
best luck

• Where can I get practice exams for MOS tests?

I would like to pass the four MOS exams one by one to obtain the MOS Master certification. I have been studying the Office Bible series books and MOS study guide.
Do you know where can I get practice exams?

I would not use the MCSE title but you could certainly write replacement for MCSE or explain that you have the latest equivalent. Employees (particularly HR departments) are often behind on qualifiication changes. Kind Regards,

• Where can i get Oracle JDeveloper 9i Handbook exercise source code?

Hi
I'm studying JDeveloper 10g by read the book <<Oracle JDeveloper 9i Handbook >> which written by Peter Koletzke,Paul Dorsey and Avrom Faderman, Where can i get exercise source code? In chapter 13,I can't create the application module AccountantPromotionModule, who can help me or some idea?
thank you
li xinzhu
2004.9.2

Hi,
You can download source code for the 9i Handbook from either of the following websites:
http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/Peter_Koletzke
http://www.dulcian.com
Note that, if you're using Oracle JDeveloper 10g (rather than Oracle9i JDeveloper), you might be interested in the just-published Oracle JDeveloper 10g Handbook. Oracle JDeveloper 10g has some very significant differences from Oracle9i JDeveloper--especially the introduction of Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF)--and these are covered in the new book but not the old one.
If you do get the new book, you can download code for it (or rather, will be able to by the end of this week) from either of the above websites or from
http://avromroyfaderman.com
Hope this helps,
Avrom

• Where can i get transport file for bc400's template programs to import

hi
where can i get transport file for bc400's template programs to import to miniwas
would like to do the exercises for tw10 and tw12
regards
jan

Thanks Spencer.
I downloaded it, etc. and that didn't work.
It actually seems to work the same way as before I downloaded that driver, meaning, it prints but leaves it in the "# Document Pending" status.
Since the wireless HP print server isn't working (No connectMgr.exe file) there's no connection and therefore the doc won't print.
RE: Print/Server software out of date. The software was working for many months after originally installing it on this laptop. Then it just stopped. Now it can't find the .exe file and that's odd.
If I could find that file I could just save it where it needed to be and I'd be good to go.
Thanks for the help.
Going to uninstall and reinstall again, just for fun. I'll report back.

• Where can I get scenarios for Packet Tracer?

I want to use PT to get used to commands. I want to start from easy router configuration to advanced (no more than CCNA-level for now). I have Packet Tracer, but where can I get scenarios along with guidance?

Hi There
What study material are you using. Usually the study material will give you lab scenarios to configure.
For CCNA level check out the following
1, Wendell Odoms ICND 1 and ICND 2 books.
(I have never seen these books, but Wendell Odom is a pretty well respected person in the Cisco certification circles and is CCIE. I have one of his CCIE books for my CCNP studies and find it really good.)
2, Todd Lammles CCNA study Guide, 6th edition.
(The 6th edition is geared towards the upgraded CCNA exam. I used the 5th edition of this book as part of my own CCNA studies. This will give you lots of hands on practice and you build up your lab up as you move through the book.)
3, The Byrant Advantage CCNA study guide.
(I have used Chris Bryant's study material for my CCNA and am still using it as part of my CCNP studies. I find it quite good and lab work books are provided.)
Be prepared though for some problems with Packet Tracer. For as good as it is, it does not have all the commands available. So you may come across somethings that you can not configure or get to work correctly.
If you have access to some IOS versions you should check out Dynamips/Dynagen, which is better than any simulator on the market.
Best Regards,
Michael

• What is JAAS ? Where can i get any information on it ?

Hi ,
Can somebody tell me what is JAAS ?.....Where can i get something to read on it ...??????
Thanks
Rajesh Nanda

Rajesh,
I am not sure what do you mean by setting up JAAS in ABAP.
JAAS is a security framework for Java.
You probably mean SSO from Java to ABAP system.
It is possible to SSO from Java to ABAP.
This could be a good starting point for SSO:

• What RAM do I need and where can I get it from?

Hi all,
I know this is probably a simple question, but I just want to make sure I don't mess up my computer! I have an old school DV iMac, and bought the Mac OS X upgrade not too long after it came out (which is rather a while ago now!), but couldn't install it became I don't have enough RAM. And I obviously have just put it off and off. Now I'm at uni, and want the computer to work as well as it can for my mum, because she's even worse than me when it comes to computers. So, anyway, I need RAM. What type do I need and where can I get it from fairly cheaply? And how much would you recommend I get? My friend says he knows how to put it in, so all okay there hopefully/
My computer's details:
Processor info: PowerPC G3
Machine speed: 400MHz
OS: 9.2.2
Built-in memory: 64MB
I remember being able to get more details than this from somewhere on the computer, but I can't remember where...I haven't used it for 6 months or something, and am obviously getting forgetful.
Hope someone can help. If you need to know anything else, tell me where to get the info from and I will tell you!
Cheers,
Fran
DV iMac Mac OS 9.2.x It's lime green...ooh...

Hi,
I just bought some RAM from Crucial.
If you go to www.crucial.com/uk and follow the Crucial Memory Advisor Tool, you should be able to find the RAM for your Mac.
1 GB sticks are pretty good value at the moment (they've even gone down a few pounds since I bought mine a week ago) and if you enter this code (found it on aonther thread here) you might get a couple of pounds knocked off the total: CUSTOMPC
There's also places like Kingston & Cancom to try, as well as Misco.co.uk. But Crucial select the recommended RAM for your Mac.
Also, when you think you've found the right RAM and want to buy it, try the Apple agent chat, and double-check with them.
Hope this is useful.

• Where can I get a new keyboard for my Tecra A3 in the UK?

I spilt some water - damn! - a couple of days ago on my Tecra A3 and I think it is beyond fixing, though please correct me if I am wrong.
I haven't been cleaning it regularly and I think there was probably quite a bit of dust - and other foreign matter - under the keys and I think some dust has got, via the water, into the electronics connecting the keys to the white connecting tissue - I don't know what you call this - which links the keyboard to the rest of the machine.
Most of the keys aren't working, and some of them, whey they work, add in for free, for one tap, extra letters.
I removed the keyboard, and left it and the machine to dry and, when that didn't do the trick, dried the keyboard and surrounding parts thorougly - working delicately - and cleaned it using a tiny bit of alcohol and ear cotton wool cleaners. I also used a little air pressure producing machine to try to get rid of any dust. I think I did a fair job but It is still not working.
I think I will have to buy a new keyboard. Do you know where can I get a new keyboard A3 in the UK or a second hand keyboard that would be in perfectly good working order?
Thanking you in advance,
Conor Joyce

Hi
On the Toshiba website you can search for the nearest authorized service provider. They sell all original Toshiba spare parts. Call them and ask for a new keyboard, they can order a new one for you.
Here you can search for the nearest ASP:
http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com => Support & Downloads => Find an authorized service provider
Second hands you get from eBay for example but normally keyboards are not so expensive so I would buy a new one.

• Where can I get an EU power supply for my late 2009 mac mini

I have a late 2009 mac mini. The power supply is good for US voltage only. The new mac mini specs say they can accept 110 - 220 VAC, 50-60 Hz. Will one of these new power supplies work with my older mini? Where can I get one, can't seem to locate on the Apple online store. Moving to France and don't want to leave my mac behind!
Thanks,
JSP

you could get something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Energizer-XP18000-Universal-External-Netbooks/dp/B002K8M9H C
it's about the same cost as an extra battery used to be. there's a range of similiar products at Amazon, i'd check reviews.

I recently upgraded from 2.50 BIOS to 2.54 and now I'm having audio issues. I can only found the latest BIOS on Lenovos site. Where can I get 2.50 to put it back and test if audio fixes? Does Lenovo have a link for older BIOS?
