Where can i get hard drive cable?

i've hand one on back order for two months with two different retailers who both say Apple has them on back order. i dont want a used part because i understand now that they tend to fail. 2009-2010 unibody macpro hard drive and sensor cable. Any ideas? can't get it direct from Apple? For reading my plea.

I don't know who you're listening to, but I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to buy a used cable with a warranty from a reputable vendor and good Mac community member like iFixit. In over ten years of recommending iFixit on these boards, I don't recall ever hearing a complaint from anyone who bought parts from them.

I've had my Mini 110-1000 running our music system for a couple of years, no complaints. When I wanted a CD/DVD drive, I purchased a DE8A4L external USB drive directly from HP. It didn't come with a driver disc. When I plug it in, the USB subsystem does not enable it. Device Manager shows a yellow exclamation point, saying, "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware..." It is running Windows XP Home Edition SP3.
What gives with this device?

Following up on tactic 2) above, I upgraded the BIOS from version F07 to the latest version available on the HP download site, version F19. This went well, but unfortunately the system still does not recognize the device.
When I try to Device Manager, and select the DE8A4L DVD device, and try "search for a device driver", it says it cannot find a better match for the driver already installed.
This Mini 110-1000 only came with 1 Gb RAM, and Windows XP Home. Is one of these a critical limitation for running an external USB DVD drive?

With the Lion it is essentially unnecessary to resort to external driver disks. What's more, most of those disks are incompatible with the OS and should not be used. The system already carries a wide variety of printer description files (aka PPDs, which is what modern printing systems use as "drivers") for a lot of brands. And there was an HP printer update just two days ago.
Just checked in mine and did indeed find that the HP OfficeJet 6200 Series, with or without Fax, is covered with the latest update.
So just go thru the motions of creating a proper printer instance:
Make sure the Mac "sees" the printer on the network.
System Preferences / Print & Scan
Click on the + button on the left column
Select the appropriate type of printer, will use IP for the rest of this
Select HP Jetdirect - Socket, default for HP network printers
Type the IP address or look it up
Name the printer for easy identification on the print dialog
Let the Mac identify the printer model or manually choose the driver
Click Add.
Once the instance pops up in the list, can click on Options & Supplies for further config.

My MBP is indeed non-retina.
I also have Apple care support for 3 years
I was in touch with Apple suport since last week. Response I got on Phone was pretty astounding (waiting email confirmation). They say following
- Apple support does not provide such service of upgrading hard drive
- Doing it yourself means you will lose warranty (due to nature of operation one would need to perform on the computer)
- None of authorised delars will provide such a service
So as such there apparantly is no way to get your hard drive upgraded without losing warranty.
Leaves me a bit perplexed
I do understand MBP retina (or iPAD / iPhones) are manufactured in way that makes it technically impossible to upgrade certain parts. But why non-retina MBP?
What do you all think? is this reasonable? is this what a MBP customer would expect?

Can I use hard drive cable from 15" MBP in 13" MBP?

I'll start of with the tl;dr:
My mid 2012 13" MBP is acting up and I believe it's the hard drive cable that is broken. Thing is, I've got an early 2011 15" MBP with broken GPU. Can I salvage that cable and use in my 13" or will something go to ****?
Problem in general is my 13" MBP doesn't work properly with the connected hard drive. I can boot from an external drive without any issues and I can even see the internal one (luckily I could rescue all my files this way, albeit it transfering them was slow as ****) but I can't boot from the internal one, the computer just stucks on the apple logo forever.
I've also tried reinstalling the OS and managed to start the installer but after installing for roughly 5 hours it got stuck at "less than one minute remaning" over the night so I killed it. Then I tried putting the hard drive in a USB-case and it worked fine. And then I tried another working hard drive as the internal drive and experienced the exact same problem.
Edit: spelling From googling I've concluded that the mid 2012 13" MBP has had issues with broken hard drive cables, so I figured I'd try that. But it would be nice if I didn't have to buy a new one and wait for it to ship
Any help is welcome!

Yah don't think swapping the cables will work. Since there's a recall on your 15" I wouldn't go messing around inside least you get rejected for recall for modding.

There are several different models of the Officejet 8600.
Do you know if you have the e-All-in-One, or the Premium, or the Plus version?

CAN'T GET HARD DRIVE BACK ON LINE!

I made the mistake of opening up a FCP4 file without the SCSI drive that contained the media and when it went looking for the hard drive it couldn't find it. So I shut down and rebooted with the hard drive on. NOW whenever I try to open the file it's says "access to that drive has been denied or failed." The drive clearly is NOT off line as far as the computer is concerned (appears in the desktop and functions fine). I can't get through "Check again" or "reset scratch disk" to open my blasted file. Any suggestions? Am I screwed? This seems ridiculous.

I can't even get FPC to open because it wants to open the last project by default. Even when trying to open it through the desk top it's still looking for my hard drive and won't let me get by the "quit" "check again" or "reset scratch disks" screen.
I can't believe simply not having the hard drive on would cause such a MAJOR problem. Still trying you're other suggestions.

Hi every body.
I have my mac pro for one month now, and i've noticed that i do not use my PC anymore. So i wanted to plug my 7800GTX to use it for gaming under bootcamp and have a little more power under 3d softs...
I saw that i can connect it via the molex power plug left into the superdrive bay.
Still i don't find this solution elegant, so i looked around and i found out that there is a "booster cable" for X1900 and quadro's.
But no way to find some place to get one!!
So if some one knows a place where i can get one, that will realy help me.
Oh and and i'm french, so i can get it only via web sites that delivers in my country...

Where can I get printer driver?

I am attempting to add my printer (HP 750 PCS)so that I can print using the airport base station. When doing this I got a message that indicated no print driver could be found for the HP 750 PCS. Any ideas what this means and how to fix?

It may work with a third-party driver such as the HPIJS drivers or the Gimp-Print drivers, but this is not the case with all printers.

Where can i get the drive

I have looked through the FAQ and followed the links and i was unable find a download for the drivers for a Creative Vision M. I have tried to uninstall then reinstall the drivers from the device and i keep getting the message " there was a problem installing this hardware: creative Zen Vision: M An error occured during the installation of the device. A service installation section in this INF is invalid" I don't know what i'm suppose to do and the FAQ section doesn't help.

What version of Windows are you running? If you are running windows XP, make sure you have SP2. The player should then be automatically detected with no problems.

My dog ate my power cable. Fortunately it was unplugged at the time, or I would have to replace my dog as well. lol. I need the cable that plugs intol the printer as well as the transformer.

It is included by default in Suns JVM. If, however, you are using a different JVM (i.e. IBM's JVM) it may not be included. You then need to google for a third party JDBC-ODBC Bridge (you can't just simply extract the bridge from Sun's JVM and insert it into IBM's, that won't work).
