Intel Pentium 4 is the minimum. Your's is far advanced over that.
From what you've listed it looks like Photoshop will be easily able to install and run on that system. You don't mention what video card you're getting, and that can be important.

As of this writing I don't think you can literally get Photoshop CS5 directly from Adobe any more though... You'll actually be getting Photoshop CS5.1 (which is still listed as Photoshop CS5 on many pages)... This is versioned as Photoshop 12.1, and is almost a functional equivalent of Photoshop CS5 (12.0). Photoshop CS5.1 is the same Photoshop that's part of the CS 5.5 suites. I know, it's rather confusing.

I know photoshop CS 6 is out. But my company doesn't have CS6,
It has CS5 but they lost the disks or never had any or something, Maybe they used the downloads when they where available, But they have serials for CS5 and I can't buy CS6 !
I've been looking all over the place for a legal download of CS5 so i can use it.
Does anyone know where I can get one ?

Oh i see.. Ok i followed them and i didn't get the error.
However. When i downloaded the photoshop_12_LS1.exe file and try to start is I get an error saying
"The file archive part of Adobe Photoshop CS5 is missing, You need all parts in the same folder in order to extract Adobe Photoshop CS5. Please download all parts "
But this file from the prodesigner site is only 1.2 MB in size. the full download never starts. _ I've read this http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/start-installer-downloading.html but nothing helps.

my employer has CS5 installed on their PC's - which they bought online. I now need to instal it on a laptop so that I can work off site and as they have no discs I can't do it easily. Where do I get a copy of CS5 from? Upgarding all of them to CS5.5 is not an option.

The thing about downloaded copies is that they are the same as the copies you buy on disk. Both are fully functional, but require a code to unlock them. The code is printed on the disk copy, and is sent to you if you download a copy. Presumably, Adobe still has CS5 on their server, so if you ask them directly, they may send it to you via FTP or give you a link to download another copy. You would then use the same code to load it onto your laptop that you used to load it onto your desktop, because the EULA says it's OK (as long as you don't use both copies at the same time, but you couldn't if your desktop is at the office, and the laptop is offsite, so you're OK). If you don't still have the code to unlock the software, explain that to them and they will probably give it to you as well. Of course, that is dependent on whether they can verify that you are the registered owner of the serial number you provide them for your copy of CS5.
I got a download copy of CS3 several years back, and I burned the installer to DVD before I installed it, so if I need to wipe my computer, I can get it back on. If Adobe sends you another download installer (which I think they will), you should consider doing the same.

I have Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator CS5.1 Extended editions on my desktop. I purchased these in December 2011, the serial numbers for them show up on my Adobe account when I login and look at my products.
I wanted to install these on my new laptop - so I went to 'Downloads' - Older products, and can only find CS5 for each, not CS5.1
So I downloaded CS5 versions instead, and installed them. These activated successfully using my serial numbers. Then I tried to update them. The only updates available are 12.04 for Photoshop (CS5.1 is version 12.1), and also, the updates wouldn't download?
Any suggestions as to how I can get 5.1 onto my laptop?

if you have a problem starting the download, you didn't follow all 7 steps, or your browser does not accept cookies.
the most common problem is caused by failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).
failure to obtain that cookie results in an error page being displayed after clicking a link on prodesigntools.com or initiates the download of an incorrect (eg, current) version.

Where can I download Photoshop CS5.5?

Hi, I am now living overseas and want to deregister a Windows copy of Photoshop CS5.5 extended on my laptop and re-install it on another but I do not have my instalation disks with me. I do have my ID and serial number etc. I don't want to upgrade to CS6 but that is the only version that Adobe are offering as a trial download now.

Thanks for your continued help and I understand why you might be exasperated with me because of the openning headline being about CS6 but I did scroll down and in various ways tried to navigate to CS5 but in every case, no matter which route I took, all linkes (though they purported to point to CS5) now point to CS6. Is there any other solutiion?

I can't get Photoshop CS5 to start

I just received Photoshop CS5 (Version 12.1 x32) and after installing it on my Dell Latitude Laptop and launching the program, I am receiveing the following error:
Owl Orphanage: Photoshop.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x13ae1a2e" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be read".
This is occuring as Photoshop is "Starting-up plug-ins...ScriptingSupport'.
I have checked my system requirements and ensured that my video driver is up-to-date and all of that seems to be in order. Any ideas?

Have you installed any 3rd party plug-ins, or reconfigured Photoshop's "Extra Plug-ins Folder" setting?
If not, you have some system problem... There were some reports from way back that cited a workaround (NOT a proper fix)- they basically suggested renaming the Adobe plug-in ScriptingSupport.8li to ~ScriptingSupport.8li in the Photoshop installation area to avoid starting the scripting support package for now.

I've seen a lot of people talking about Photoshop CS4 64bit native code, but I can't figure out where to get it.
I'm currently using Windows XP, but plan to upgrade to Windows 7 Professional 64bit in a week or two. I'm going to reload all my programs from scratch and would like to start with the 64bit version of Photoshop CS4.
I purchased the standard Photoshop CS4 CD from Adobe, but I don't remember seeing anything about the 64bit version when I initially loaded the 32bit version on WinXP 32bit. Maybe I didn't see anything because I don't have a 64bit system yet.
I have Googled and looked for this information in Adobe's Knowledgebase with no luck...

I've not been able to afford the ridiculous prices to keep up with cs, cs2, cs3, etc. I'm wanting to buy cs4 but I want to try it first. All I can find on this asinine Adobe download site is the current cs 5.5. I cannot use 5.5 because I do not have an Intel machine! Does Adobe care about us not-so-rich-one-man-studios any more?

If you do not own a license for CS5 there is not much you can do to get it thru Adobe. They only sell current versions of their software (CS6 or Creative Cloud). You would need to find a third party vendor and take your chances with them.
