Refurbishment - where can I get it done??

Hi!
Does anyone know a place in the UK that will refurbish your macbook?
I've had mine for a few months now and regularly use window cleaner whenever my screen gets dirty, however, the window cleaner has started to remove the 'macbook' lettering under my screen and has started to build up a nasty shine on the surrounding plastic!
I think I probably need the same replacement that users with the "discolouration" issue had but can I get this done?

Refurbishing isn't something available to Mac owners. A refurbished product refers to a computer or other Apple product that was returned to the company. They are restored to new condition, but because they aren't straight from the factory, they can't be sold as brand new. They're lableled refurbished and sold at a discount price.
As far as regular maintenance and repair goes, your local Apple store or authorized Apple service shop would be your best bet. Although I'm not sure if your warranty will cover such cosmetic issues. And for future reference, any cleaning product that uses amonia shouldn't be used on an LCD screen. I would personally recommend a damp (with water) cloth (soft, lint-free). Apple recommends a product called Klear Screen.

Where can I get replacement screws for the bottom of my MacBook Pro?

I have a late 2011 13 inch MacBook Pro. I recently upgraded it from the stock 500 gigabyte 5400 RPM hard drive to a 750 gigabyte 7200 RPM Seagate Momentus XT Solid State Hybrd drive. When I was putting the screws back in the bottom case I lost one of the small screws. Now the bottom case of my MacBook is little loose due to the missing screw. Where can I get a replacement screw?

I am already in a contract with at&t and i called apple and they said they did not have refurbished phones and i also called at&t but they didnt either. Where can I get a description of the Usage Report sent weekly?

I'm a little confused by the weekly Usage Report, e.g. what's the difference between the "DownloadTrack" and "DownloadTracks" numbers? There's only one worksheet titled "Tracks" and the numbers don't add up accordingly.
For example:
on my summary report for the week of March 11:
DownloadTrack = 1
DownloadTracks = 3
on the detailed Tracks worksheet, there are three tracks identified
and on my summary report for the week of March 4:
DownloadTrack = 2
DownloadTracks = 2
on the detailed Tracks worksheet, there are shown two different tracks downloaded with a total viewing of three
So if someone can either explain to me what each stat is showing, or where I can get some documentation I'd be grateful.

Where can I get another one of the black screen cleaner cloths?

Hi everyone, I really like the little black cloth that came with my MacBook for cleaning the screen. It is perfect because it works equally well wet and dry, which is a rarity. I was wondering whether there was any way I could get me another one; it would be really handy for keeping one in my computer bag and one at home, saves me having to unpack and repack some stuff too!
I don't know whether you could buy those straight from Apple (a bit like you might do with computer parts for repairs); I wouldn't mind getting them from eBay either, but the search keywords I tried didn't give out many results (I tried a couple of combinations of mac/apple, black, screen, and cloth, but any other suggestions will be welcome :-)). Either way it will have to be some way that ships to Europe.

Actually I do have (quite) a few of the cloths like the ones you link to/describe, but I kind of like the black suede-like on the most for cleaning the MB screen. I guess it seems to me that since it's included, it would be the perfect thing for the job, and as my 'lil MacBook is all shiny and new, I don't want to use anything less than the very best on it, especially on the screen!
I've been thinking about writing straight to Apple and asking if they sell them separately--kind of like parts, or the remotes, which before buying them separately you used to get in the box, and you could get a new one to replace the one in the box if you lost it, something like that. But I have no idea where to write, so any ideas you have on that will be nice too!

Where can I get a hold of the install disks?

I recently bought a Powerbook G4 from someone on Craig's list. It is just supposed to get me through school until I can afford to buy a better mac. Well she did not know the Admin password and everyone that I have asked for advise says that I need the start up disks that come with the computer when you first buy it. Does anyone know where I can buy a set? It there a special place to look on the apple store web page? Is there a way to change the admin password without the disks if finding a set is impossible?

Just a comment, but the fact that she/he doesn't know the admin password could be a signal that the PowerBook is "hot." You might want to check the serial no. of the machine against this resource:

On how to bypass the administrative password, you'll have to have either the original installation discs, or a version of Mac OS X equal to or after the version that was installed on your PowerBook in the first place. See these postings of mine in different threads:

To get the administrative password reset, you can use the Reset Password utility when started up from a Mac OS X disc. The best thing to do is that, and the erase and reformat your hard drive, and reinstall software and apps so it's a clean system with only your stuff on it.

I have gone through all the suggested steps to restore the navigation toolbar to the default position, yet none have worked. Is there anyway I can do so? If not, where can I get a copy of the previous edition of Firefox?

I have tried all posted means to restore default settings to my navigation toolbar. Are there other ways?

I was a strong supporter of Firefox until this happened. None of the fixes have worked...and besides why should I have to waste my time trying to fix it in the first place. I lost a lot of time and information with this situation and Firefox provides no support for itself that I can see. No...I've switched to Google Chrome and Firefox will have a serious uphill climb getting me back or preventing me from warning others off their product. FIREFOX HAS COST ME SEVERAL HOURS...NO...DAYS REPAIRING THIS DAMAGE. I won't be back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank god we still have the freedom to chose in this country...at least for now.
P.S. I hope Firefox goes the way of Netscape. I was once a supporter of their product too...but they blew it bad...

In addition to the above potential for copyright infringement, the location might be a little different for Snow Leopard, so you're on your own there.
In any event sticking your fingers in places deep within the system like this is not recommended. You could damage your computer by doing so. Good luck.

You can download the OA JDeveloper Extension from Metalink (Patch Number 4045639) and install it according to the instructions provided on Metalink note 286082.1. This will install a version of JDeveloper on your machine that already comes with the tutorial mentioned in the Developer Guide, as well as the IDE suited for OA Development.
