Where can I get replacement restore CDs?

I bought a MacBook Air (late 2008) on eBay, and the original owner had lost the restore CDs.  Where can I get replacement discs?

  • Where can I get replacement install Cds of earlier versions?

    Hi
I've acquired a very cheap old secondhand G4 Imac to use as a photolibrary and large E-photoframe.
Unfortunately the os needs to be reinstalled but the machine cames without any Panther CD's. Where can I get a replacement set of Panther (or perhaps Tiger) CD's without spending a fortune. The machine won't run Leopard so needs an earlier version of osx.
Apple used to have archived versions of it's osses available for download. Do they still do it? Presumably as 10.3 is now pretty old hat it would count as an arcived system...

Look over this list of iMac specs to determine what OS was originally installed. http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/imac/index-imac.html
Tiger install DVDs are in short supply. Tiger is no longer available at the Apple Store *but may be available for $129 by calling Apple Phone Sales @ 1-800-MY-APPLE (1-800-692-7753)*. For other sources, do a Google search for MA453Z/A (10.4.6), MA190Z/A (10.4.3) and M9639Z/A (10.4) . Also look on eBay. Be sure & buy a retail version (black with silver X) and not a model specific version (gray) (See Can I use another Mac's system restore disc on my Mac? ). Expect to pay (possibly a lot) more than the Apple list price of $129.
Also check these web stores: http://www.lacomputercompany.com/cgi-bin/rpcart/index.cgi?command=dispitem&type= sku&sku=19521 http://www.allmac.com/shop/index.php?cPath=5_10003
Possible Alternative if you are currently using Panther 10.3 – Do a Google search for Tiger 10.4 Upgrade DVD . It will upgrade your 10.3 to 10.4, but it doesn’t contain the full retail Tiger installer. Should be cheaper than the retail Tiger install DVD.
After you install the base 10.4.x, update to the final Tiger version 10.4.11. Here's the link for the 10.4.11 combo update http://support.apple.com/kb/TA24901?viewlocale=en_US
Look at this link Mac OS X v10.4 Tiger Installing Software Support Page
    http://www.apple.com/support/tiger/install/
You can also download the Tiger Installation and Setup Guide
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/en/TigerInstall_SetupGuide.pdf
When you upgrade the OS, do it via Archive & Install. See About the Archive and Install feature http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1710
Be sure to select Preserve Users & Settings. Also, repair permissions before and after the install.
If you do a Google search for M9227LL/A (Panther 10.3 retail install CDs) or M9228LL/A (Family Pack), you may find a set. The CDs should be black with a white X.
After you install the base 10.3.x, update to the final Panther version 10.3.9. See Mac OS X 10.3.9 Update (Combo) http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2464

  • Where can I get replacement media or download for final cut 3?

where can I get replacement media or download for final cut 3?

There is no download for any install of Final Cut Pro before version X.
For physical media, try contacting Apple Care support. Otherwise, ebay or alternative resellers is your only recourse for acquiring install discs.

edit: If you want Final Cut Pro 3, you'll need a PowerPC computer that can run OS9. If you mean Final Cut Studio 3 (aka FCS 2009) you'll have better luck finding something out there that will run on contemporary machinery.

Hi, Josh. Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
You can try giving Apple a call to see if they have the original system CDs available. If they have them, they will send them to you for a fee.
There is no download for Mac OS X 10.4. You need to buy a full retail version.

  • Where can I get replacement screws for the bottom of my MacBook Pro?

I have a late 2011 13 inch MacBook Pro. I recently upgraded it from the stock 500 gigabyte 5400 RPM hard drive to a 750 gigabyte 7200 RPM Seagate Momentus XT Solid State Hybrd drive. When I was putting the screws back in the bottom case  I lost one of the small screws. Now the bottom case of my MacBook is little loose due to the missing screw. Where can I get a replacement screw?

    PowerBook Medic has screw sets:

  • Where can I get replacement software?

I recently bought a used Macbook Pro but did not get the software, is there any place I can go to get replacement disks? The laptop had been slicked before I took possesion to ensure no personal data was on the hard drive.

    Hi nightblood-
Greetings and welcome to the Apple Discussion boards
The software should have been included so contacting the seller might be appropriate.
Apple will provide replacement disks at a nominal charge.

  • Where can I get replacement rubber feet for Macbook Pro 2009?

Does anyone know where I can get the black rubber feet that go on the bottom of a Macbook Pro (2009)?
I have checked with Apple stores and they said they don't have them.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

Courcoul, greeting friend;  Might not those feet subject the MBP to high altitude sickness?
Ha ha! Then my MBP, sitting on top of a RoadTools CoolPad with a 3/4" rise in the rear in addition to that afforded by the Speck hard shell's integrated feet, will surely die of oxygen deprivation...

  • Where can i get replacement parts?

I have an Officejet 6500 that, after only about 14 months, the display on the control panel went out on.  I assume I will have to get the entire control panel.  Anyone know where I can get one?  Boy, this is my first HP product and, likely, my last.  Support is about as useless as can be, just offered me an "upgrade" at an "unbelievably low price" that was higher than what I can buy the new unit at Sam's for.....I am not a happy camper.

    HP Parts Store
Although I don't think you will be able to purchase a new screen. You may be better off purchasing another unit unfortunately.

  • I have a A1312 computer but not original install discs. Where can I get replacements

I have an A1312 Mac and I want to install a solid state hard drive. But I do not have the original install discs. My OSX10.9.2

You can boot that computer using the retail copy of Snow Leopard:
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8.
Replacement DVDs usually cost about $50.00. This is a little cheaper. Maybe you can tell us exactly what your final goal is? For example, after you install the SSD what do you plan to do with the HDD? Do you have an external drive enclosure in which you could put your HDD to use while getting the new SSD set up? Or, do you plan to get an OWC DataDoubler in order to put your HDD in the space occupied by your optical drive?

  • Where can i get replacement keys?

my mac is a 13 in model

If your question is similar to "the 'B' key popped off, and I need a replacement", I'd make an appointment with an Apple Genius and, if yiu ask nicely, (s)he may be able to locate one.  Otherwise, there are third-party repair services online, and one of them may have a key to your problem.  Oh, I crack myself up sometimes.
