Where can I get rid of an old Power Mac G3 Beige?

Where is the best place to get rid of an old Power Mac G3 Beige? Are there sites out there where Mac enthusiasts would buy it or its part? It has no hard drive. Also have the Multiple Scan 720 Display Monitor.

I have a Yosemite blue and white G3 that's living here while it's owner gets his living situation sorted out.. it was in rough shape as it sat in a few inches of water and is a bit corroded but not so much it's dead.
I'm cobbling it into a bit more stable, modern state for him so his 11 year old daughter can use it with her iPod. So far I have an 80GB hard drive and a Lite-on CD burner installed. I don't have much in the way of $$ right now, but can pay postage, if you want to part bits out. I can mail you a G3/266 processor to swap it out if you still want to have a working machine to part with.
I was going to use the bits from my beige for the Yosemite, but the Quicksilver that landed on my door turned out to be a boat anchor, so I bit the bullet and swapped out a power supply and got the G3 working again as a music server.
Am still on the hunt for freebie, useable parts..

How did you format your Mac Mini? Did you restart into Recovery Mode (Command+R) and erased your Macintosh HD? Or did you use some external drive or DVD to erase it?

Since applications from the app store are linked to the Apple ID - in this case your old email - used to purchase or obtain them, you will need to have the password to that Apple ID in order to update those apps. There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
You may have installed the "VSearch" trojan. Remove it as follows.
Malware is always changing to get around the defenses against it. These instructions are valid as of now, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for more recent discussions or start a new one.
Back up all data before proceeding.
Step 1
From the Safari menu bar, select
          Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Uninstall any extensions you don't know you need, including any that have the word "Spigot," "Trovi," or "Conduit" in the description. If in doubt, uninstall all extensions. Do the equivalent for the Firefox and Chrome browsers, if you use either of those.
Reset the home page and default search engine in all the browsers, if it was changed.
Step 2
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
/Library/LaunchAgents/com.vsearch.agent.plist
Right-click or control-click the line and select
          Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item named "com.vsearch.agent.plist" selected. Drag the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password.
Repeat with each of these lines:

The problem may have started when you downloaded and ran an application called "MPlayerX." That's the name of a legitimate free movie player, but the name is also used fraudulently to distribute VSearch. If there is an item with that name in the Applications folder, delete it, and if you wish, replace it with the genuine article from mplayerx.org.
This trojan is often found on illegal websites that traffic in pirated content such as movies. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow.
You may be wondering why you didn't get a warning from Gatekeeper about installing software from an unknown developer, as you should have. The reason is that the Internet criminal behind VSearch has a codesigning certificate issued by Apple, which causes Gatekeeper to give the installer a pass. Apple could revoke the certificate, but as of this writing has not done so, even though it's aware of the problem. This failure of oversight has compromised both Gatekeeper and the Developer ID program. You can't rely on Gatekeeper alone to protect you from harmful software.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
          Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

Could be many things, we should start with this...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.

Can't get rid of my high power consumption (Thinkpad X60 Tablet)

This is really driving me nuts. On Windows 7, I can achieve a power consumption of around 11-12W (with moderate web surfing usage over WLAN and full screen brightness, just Aero turned off).
On Arch, I can't get below 13W *ever* with full screen brightness, even without WLAN and any kind of computer usage besides running X11. And normal moderate web surfing usage (without Flash, mind you) brings it up to at least 17W.
The reason for this, I believe, is a really high number of wakeups from idle. powertop shows me at least 40 wakeups per second even when I don't have anything running besides X11. If I have Firefox, Thunderbird and Pidgin running, this climbss to at least 80 wakeups per second. Powertop shows the main cause for the wakeups in both cases to be "acpi" and "extra timer interrupt", as well as "Reschedulin interrupts". With those three applications running, there is additionally a high usage of "hrtimer_start_range_ns (tick_sched_timer)" and "iwl3945" (well, I guess the latter figures for internet applications).
I'm running laptop-mode-tools for power management, btw.
Anyone got some idea of what causes those idle wakeups, and how I might be able to fix it? I don't see why Windows 7 should be better than Arch here, the bloated monstrum it is...

The issue with hrtimer_start_range_ns is existing for a while. Unfortunately it isn't fixed until today. There is an entry in the kernel bugtracker http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14424
I think this is the main reason for the short battery life of my Samsung NC10 . If you google for it you will find numerous posting in bugtrackers of various distributions but no one seems to really care or know how to fix this?

I think the problem lays with Last.fm. I had the same exact problem as you. In your processes screen, end the task "lastfmhelper.exe" Last.fm still scrobbles. The tracks don't skip, although I notice there is still a bit of a lag in the first part of the song - but if you can deal with that, no skipping. I think you will have to end that task everytime you boot up your computer, or uninstall last.fm completely until they fix it; it is a bug in their software, as opposed to iTunes.
