Where can I purchase Snow leopard?

Trying to update a Aluminum Intel Core Duo from 10.4.11 to 10.6.8
Found a link here from June 17, 2012...but it is a dead link.
Thanks!

From what I see/feel/hear of the still-sealed package (in case I decide to sell it for a not-obnoxious price later), it is one disk.  Somehow Mother Apple will know if more than 5 are used.
The box has a very pretty kitty (unlike those all-yellow thugs of late ) and announces it contains "The world's most advanced operating system.  Finely tuned".

  • I need to upgrade my MacBook Pro from 10.5.8 - where can I find Snow Leopard?

I just upgraded my iPhone to os6 and now can't get into iTunes.  Can't upgrade iTunes because I'm still on 10.5.8.  Looks like I need to upgrade to Snow Leopard, then to Lion before I can buy Mountain Lion.  I can't seem to find Snow Leopard avaiable for purchase.  Can anyone help?

    Upgrading to Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.

  • How can I purchase snow leopard

how do I purchase snow leopard?

I wish that had been a mistype, but that is the lead time they gave me. (That's the time prior to shipping.) I even called back in hopes that I was wrong, and they said 4-5 weeks. I sure hope it comes sooner and that it is going to be a case of under promising and over-delivering. 5 days would be great!

  • Upgrade macbook pro 10.5.8 to lion, where i can easily purchased snow leopard upgrade?

i am based in dubai, i ask the service support here but they dont have upgrade snow leopard they said have only the soft copy if i want to upgrade my mac i have to give my mac to and do the job. But i want to do it by myself and upgrade it by myself, they i said i need to purchased the retail snow leopard instead of upgrade which is cheaper than the retail box. Is there any way to purchased or download the upgrade then get the lion updates????
    Please help~!~

    Hi m,
I don't know what you have available to you where you are, but the $29 SL upgrade (note that you do not need the much more expensive set with iLife, unless you want the newer iLife apps) is widely available in places that sell Macs/parts/accessories. I don't know who will ship to where you are, but lots of online places have it, like Amazon.
Once you receive that, backup and run the upgrade and updates and backup you're ready to purchase and download the Lion upgrade from the App Store.

  • Where can I buy Snow Leopard?

My Mac is running an older version of OS X, and when I tried to update with the new version of iTunes, it told me I needed to update to the newest version.  In order to update to Mountain Lion through the App store, I think I need to first update to Snow Leopard.  Any legitimate places I can get the software? Thanks.

  • Where can I buy Snow Leopard Server?

    Hi,
I need to find Snow Leopard Server to install Freehand in a new iMac 27" with Mountain Lion on Parallels 8.
I've seen SL Server in SMARTSHOP: http://enqurrvbpoii.lowcostoem.com/browse/search/?q=SNOW+LEOPARD+SERVER  in an OEM download version to $79,95
Is it a reliable site?. Do you know a better site for this?
    Many thanks in advance.

  • Where do I get snow leopard 10.6.0... Can't find it in the standard downloads?

where do I get snow leopard 10.6.0... Can't find it in the standard downloads?

Start by checking if you can run Snow Leopard:
Requirements for OS X 10.6 'Snow Leopard'
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
Whilst Apple have withdrawn Snow Leopard from their stores, you can still get it from Apple by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE (if you are in the USA) and they will supply the SL DVD for $20 for a single user, or $30 for a family pack that covers up to 5 Macs.  You can also purchase the code to use to download Lion from the same number (Lion requires an Intel-based Mac with a Core 2 Duo, i3, i5, i7 or Xeon processor and 2GB of RAM, running the latest version of Snow Leopard), or you can purchase Mountain Lion from the App Store - if you can run that:
    http://www.apple.com/osx/specs/
If you are outside the US call your national Apple Helpline:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
If you're in the UK, use this number: 0871 508 4400
When you have installed it, run Software Update to download and install the latest updates for Snow Leopard.
To use iCloud you have to upgrade all the way to Mountain Lion:

You need to upgrade to Snow Leopard, but don't need to go past 10.6.8 to run the current version of Flash.

Unless there are drivers provided by Apple to work with the printer, you're out of luck. The latest drivers provided by Lexmark are for OS X 10.4 Intel. Unfortunately, this can happen when slightly older peripherals and newer software don't mesh.

  • If I purchase a brand new I-mac today do I have to run OS Lion or can I load Snow leopard?

If I purchase a brand new I-mac today do I have to run OS Lion or can I load Snow leopard?

Just faced that question, and the answer should be that you can run SL on the latest iMac.
(Our scenario:  Bought 3 iMacs in August.  Was surprised -- and relieved! -- to see that they arrived with SL installed on them, and grey system restore disks.  One of the machines was DOA.  Futzed around with it for 6 weeks trying to get it to work, decided it was dead, drove it 4 hours to the nearest Apple Store.  They gave us a new iMac, which when we got it back, turned out to have Lion on it.  Popped in one of the three grey restore disks that had come in August, installed SL, it works without any problems.)

  • Anyone out there purchase Snow Leopard shortly before Apple's offer to get it free? I want to get a refund and purchase Lion so that I can use iCloud.

You have to buy the DVD for 10.6. It's not available for download like 10.7.or 10.8. The 10.6 Snow Leopard DVD is in the Apple online store. You can get it for $19.99. You will need to be running 10.6.8 to access the App Store to order Lion or Mountain Lion. http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
    System Requirements for 10.6:
Mac computer with an Intel processor
    1GB of memory
    5GB of available disk space
    DVD drive for installation
Some features require a compatible internet service provider: fees may apply.
The Early 2006 model 1,1 Core Duo can only run a maximum of 10.6 Snow Leopard.
The models Late 2006 Core 2 Duos 2,1 through Early 2008 4,1 can only run a maximum of 10.7 Lion.
The Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody through the Mid 2010 White Unibody model 7,1 can run 10.8 Mountain Lion.

  • HT1338 can I upgrade straight to lion without purchasing snow leopard if I am running on OS 10.5.8

can I upgrade straight to lion without purchasing snow leopard if I am running on OS 10.5.8?

Well, yes, if your Mac meets the requirements, you can afford to erase the drive completely, & don't mind paying $10 more for Lion on a Flash stick than Snow Leopard/10.6 on DVD & Lion/10.7 download from the App Store is.
    Snow Leopard/10.6.x Requirements...
    General requirements
       * Mac computer with an Intel processor
        * 1GB of memory (I say 2GB at least)
        * 5GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)
        * DVD drive for installation
        * Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may apply.
        * Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and terms apply.
Which apps work with Mac OS X 10.6?...
    http://snowleopard.wikidot.com/
It looks like they do still have it:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A?fnode=MTY1NDAzOA
    If it's a core Duo & not a Core2Duo, then it'll only run in 32 bit mode.
    Snow Leopard/10.6.x Requirements...
    Lion/101.7 System requirements
        •    x86-64 processor (Macs with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Intel Core i3, Intel Core i5, Intel Core i7, or Xeon processor.)
        •    At least 2GB of memory, (I say 4GB)
        •    Latest version of Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6.8), with the Mac App Store installed
        •    At least 4GB of disk space for downloading, (I say 40GB at least)
Like Snow Leopard, Lion does not support PowerPC-based Macs (e.g., Power Macs, PowerBooks, iBooks, iMacs (G3-G5), eMacs).
Lion also does not support 32-bit Intel Core Duo or Core Solo based Macs. Rosetta is no longer available in Lion, which means Lion no longer supports PowerPC applications.
Or, if you can afford to erase everything & spend $10 more than the 10.6 Disc & 10.7 from the App Store...
Or if you can erase your disk...
