Where can I see exactly how much battery is left?

Is there a way to know the batter charge other than the icon in the upper right for an iPod Touch? I've looked in the general settings and can't seem to find it anywhere.

The correct answer to this question is that you can't. The only readout available is the graphic display in the battery icon. There is no way to get a % readout of charge remaining (although that information is available internally, since a '20% remaining' warning is generated).

There is no option for showing battery % on the iPod. It appear the other responders was referring to the iPad which has that option. There are free apps that show percentage but you have to open the app to see it.

So, I get an email on Skype numbers. I click because I am interested and all I get in a bunch of fluff about how great it is. There is nothing that I can find about cost, anywhere. Is it under prices? No, or at least I did not that I see after clicking on every single option.
What is Skype hiding? The information should be there after I click from the email or at the very least after one additiona click. I shouldn't have had to go here to the community board to find out, and yet the only search that generated the information was the one here on the Community Board.
Enough of this manipulative crap. Skype needs to honest. Because of Skype's lack of transparency -- that i cannot be sure what I am buying -- my opinion of Skype is the lowest possible.

Some useful info would be:
What generation is it?
How old is it?
If it's older than the 3rd generation, then the battery may have run its course (or iOS 4.3 is taking a toll on the battery).
If not, then you might have some issues leaving the wi-fi on and fetching data as well as running apps in the background that abuse location services and notification. Make sure those are off, or only running when necessary. If you see a small arrow in the top right corner (that isn't the music "Play" arrow), then you are currently running a location based service that can drain battery.
Also check your brightness settings, these can really pull battery life.

My account's balance shows at the top left of the store's page on my computer's iTunes, and by logging in to view my account via the Store > View Account menu option. On my devices it shows at the bottom of, for example, the Featured tab in the App Store app under my account id (or you can view your account via Settings > iTunes & App Stores and it should show on the screen that you are taken to)

You need to do this in iTunes on your computer.
Launch iTunes and go to Store>View My Apple ID. Enter your password to get into your account. Then go down to Purchase History and click on the arrow on the right that says See All. You can go through all of your purchases in there.

How can I find out how much space left on a hard drive connected to an airport?

When I go into the finder and choose the AirPort, the external drive that's hooked up to the airport shows up just fine, though its icon is a folder, not a "hard drive" icon. But if I try to do "info" on the drive, it says "zero KB on disk." I know this isn't true, since my entire iTunes library is on that disk. How can I find out how much room is left on that hard drive?

You should be able to see both the total capacity and remaining available on the Disks tab within the AirPort Utility.
ref: AirPort Utility > Select the Extreme > Manual Setup > Disks > Disks tab, and then, click on the shared disk volume name.

Table TCURC will give you the long and short text for the currency keys. You can also display in a query by adding 0CURRENCY to the drilldown and displaying key and text.
