Where can I store my photos?

I have used up almost all of my memory on my iphone 4 with photos and I want somewhere to store them so I can delete them on my phone, what can I do? i have a mac and I usually put the photos on iphoto but will all of them selete when I delete them on my phone???

Once you have copied your pictures to your computer, you can delete them off your phone. I haven't used a mac computer, but on my windows computer, I get the option to delete my photos off my phone after they have been transferred to my computer.

I completely agree Fox.  Photostream should be used as a convenience for sharing, not for anything other than temporary storage. Same goes for the device itself.
At least once a week, I import my photos/videos from my iPhone to my computer, and at least once a month, I make a backup of my computer to an external hard drive.  And at least once every few months, I burn 2 DVDs of the past few months worth of photos/videos, one for myself, and one that I put in my fire safe with other important hard copy documents.  And there are off-site image storage options out there as well which are available, and I've used occassionally.
The only time I've ever lost photos was about one half-day's worth while I was on vacation when my camera went overboard.  And this was on day 5 of my vacation.  Each night, I swapped out memory cards and uploaded the current day's card to my laptop.  For anyone going on a trip, I recommend at least three memory cards for your camera, or if you're only using an iPhone, backup to either iCloud or iTunes every day.
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

  • Where does mail store downloaded photos

Where does mail store downloaded photos?

If I understood you... you can export your entire iPhoto library to an external Hard Drive? I could only see import option...
You're welcome. Yes, that is correct. In iPhoto, File > Export... > Select external drive.
You said your drive has to be specially formatted - is that for if you want to export your photos to that drive? Or do you mean if you wanted the iPhoto library to be located primarily on the hard drive?
I meant the latter > specifically, your external drive would need to be formatted in this manner if you wanted your primary iPhoto library to reside on an external drive and function correctly. This format is the format of your MBP's internal drive.
Format the drive as FAT32 using disk utility to make the drive universally compatible between OSX/windows. Place the JPEG images on the drive. Transfer between machines with no problem.

  • Where can you compare 2 photos side by side in Full Screen in Elements 11?

Where can you compare 2 photos side by side in Full Screen in Elements 11? Version 9 has this feature under Display View.

In the Organizer select two thumbnails and hit the F12 key to compare them. But I guess you mean in the Editor application. In Expert Mode it‘s possible to work with floating windows rather than fixed tabs but you first need to set your preferences. Go to:
Edit >> Preferences >> General (Windows)
Photoshop Elements Editor >> Preferences >> General (Mac)
Then put a checkmark in the box against “Allow Floating Documents in Expert Mode”
    Click OK
You can now open your two images and use the layout button at the bottom to choose various configurations or to cascade.

  • I imported vacation photos, got the color wheel and did a force quit. Now I can't find any of those photos, and of course I deleted them from the SD card when I imported them. Where can I find those photos?

I imported vacation photos from my cameras SD card and deleted them when the import was complete. Then I moved them from Events into an Album. When trying to move 2 photos as once to another album I got the color wheel and locked up. I did a force quit but when I go back into iPhoto none of the recently imported photos appear - not in Events, the album, trash, etc. Where can I find those photos?

backup the iPhoto Library and launch iPhoto while depressing and holding the option and command keys until the first aid window appears - rebid your iPhoto library

  • Where can I store my VI's so I can use them in other programs

When I write a VI where can I store this VI to use in other programs as sub-VI's and how do I retreave them.
(Example) I build a special timing program and want to use this timing in other programs. So iI don't have to re-write this program over and over. I am using LabView 6i with some revisions. (Older cards)

You can store them where ever you want. To retrieve them you can drag and drop them to the diagram or use "Select a VI..." from the function palette. The later will open a file dialog that will allow you to navigate to where you stored the vi. Another way to do it is to store your vi in the LabVIEW\user.lib directory, then you can retrieve your vi from "User Libraries" in the function palette.
    Hope this helps

  • Where can i find my photos from my iphone if i dont have any backups?

where can i find my photos from my iphone if i dont have any backups?

Photo Stream, if they were uploaded to it within the last 30 days. Assuming you no longer have the phone or it's not working, that's it. If you didn't back them up, they're gone.

  • HT4847 where can i see my photos in the web?

where can i see my photos in the web?

You can only veiw your photos on the web by creating a shared photo stream as a public website, as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmc0cd7e99.  This will give you a url to view your photos from any browser.

  • Where can i find my photos that are on my phone, are they saved to i tunes?

where can i find the photos on my phone, should they not be saved on i tunes?

Photos are not saved in your iTunes library.  You can use iTunes to sync photos from your computer to your phone, but they are stored on your hard drive.  Camera roll photos are contained in your iPhone backup, but not in as way that allows you to view them; they are only backed up so your phone can be restored later, if necessary.  You should import your photos to your computer as you would with any digital camera, as outlined here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.

  • When apple switch to icloud...where can I store my Mac Gallery?

when apple switch to icloud...where can I store my Mac Gallery? any suggestions

Unfortunately, iCloud does not offer equivalents to Mobile Me’s iDisk, Gallery or Web Hosting services. You will need to find a third party solution to replace these services. You might consider DropBox, SugarSync, MediaFire or any other service that offers online storage.

  • Can I store my photos, music and films on external harddrive and backup everything to time capsule?

    Hi
I have just bought my very first mac this week. I have the iphone 4 already but have been used to using windows my whole life.
    I have purchased:
    21.5inch iMac 2011
    2.5GHz quad-core Intel Core i5
    4GB RAM
    500GB Harddrive
    Latest version of Lion OS
Its only been a couple of days and already I dont know  how  I ever lived without it.
The predicament Im in is this: I want to use apple Tv to stream my music, photos and films to my TV in the living room.  But I would also like to store all of this on an external harddrive, rather than filling up my internals with it then not having enough room for anything else.
Can I store my films, music, photo's etc on an external harddrive and still stream to apple tv? Does it need to be a specific external harddrive?  And whats the best way to back everything up? Would a 2TB Time Capsule backup my mac and everything on my external harddrive?
Sorry for all the questions, Im very new to this and dont know much about harddrives.
    Thanks in advance..
    Gem

Yes.  However, it gets more complicated.  Time Machine is better for archival backup, and typically requires twice the space for the data as the original.    Streaming from external drives while possible can get laggy on video unless you use Firewire or Thunderbolt.    If you have any old 802.11b or 802.11g devices, you'll want to keep them on a separate network.  A better investment is a couple external hard drives for backup and one for any excess stuff that won't fit on your main 500 GB drive, and to use cloning software instead.  When you need archival backup, burn to CD or DVD that is prepackaged in jewelcases.  See my FAQ* on good media and backup http://www.macmaps.com/cdrfailure.html
    http://www.macmaps.com/backup.html
When backing up make sure nothing else is happening on the machine from your end.
