Greetings. I loved the Iphone 3G for everything except the weak battery (known issue - and I could have lived with it) and horrible phone quality (dropped calls, calls that would not go through, calls where I could hear them and they could not hear me - and while in the same exact location and time my other pre-existing phone from AT&T worked just fine). I tried it for 1 week. I needed a phone first-most. As a long-time Apple customer I'm peeved that I had to pay the restock charge of $30 (16G version) and $16 AT&T upgrade fee. While I know Apple doesn't control the $16 fee - I'm told it's Apple policy why the restock charge is charged - regardless. I did not simply change my mind. The phone did not work properly. Apple now acknowledges the issue in the media. The AT&T guy said to just turn off the 3G; that they were having switching issues. I'm sorry - but Apple advertises a 3G phone that works - mine did not. How do I get a refund or some type of credit back regarding the $30 restock fee? Should I never buy from Apple again? Call Apple if you wish, but I've never heard of a refund for this.
This is a user to user forum, so we are all iphone users. You are not addressing Apple here.
I doubt you will get any sort of refund, but if it makes you feel better call 1-800 My iphone or try your Apple Store.

    I too was a mobileme user and have just migrated to iCloud on mackbook pro w/OS 10.7.4. Transition caused my sent mailboxes to rearrange themselves so that I have no comprehensive 'sent' mailbox as I did previously and the view on both incoming and outgoing mailboxes keeps rearranging itself no matter how many times I set preferences. One result is that search function no longer works.  Is anyone else having problems like this?  All was fine for a week after transition but after having an evening when my password was repeatedly rejected I had to log in and out of iCloud (as directed by tech support) and w/in an hour or so the mailbox problem began.

    Yes it will sync and if you have mobileme, over the air. But you can't write a note in Mail on the iPhone and sync over the air. Instead you get to write a new email instead. Go figure.

  • Can't send email in Windows Mail

    On May 12th I was unable to send emails under Windows mail.  It would come back with an error message of  "0X800CCC0F".  In my account I'm using (POP3) incoming.yahoo.verizon.net and (SMTP) outgoing.yahoo.verizon.net.
    My SMTP port is 25 and my POP3 port is 110.  I receive emails but can't send any.  If I go to Verizon's email site I can send myself emails and receive them.  I don't like Verizon's setup so I've used Windows Mail with Vista and Outlook with Windows ME without any problems.  I've tried changing port numbers and checking and unchecking SSl and SPA until I'm not quite sure where I was originally.  Something must have changed 5 days ago but I not sure how to fix it.  Any suggestions would be most gratefully received.

    Glad to know I'm not the only one.  Around the same date I began having the same issues (right after Microsoft installed updates).  I use Vista and have had this problem ONLY with Verizon ISP every month, at least once a month.  This time, it hasn't stopped since the 12th. 
    Due to this, I finally gave up and ran the Verizon In Home Agent, which Norton suggested I do not do.  I should have listened to Norton.  The IHA lists that I have two Outlook email address, both of which are the same.  I checked my Outlook and I only have one listed.  BUT, since I used the IHA I now receive emails twice and can't send any at all unless I use Webmail.  The IHA says there are no problems with my email, but I still can't send. 
    If you figure out the resolution to this, I'd love to know....and I will definitely try the link to Microsoft that someone already listed.  I can't use the Windows Mail or Outlook to send.

    When I was trying to delete the emails in my inbox for the Mail app - I followed THESE directions.  It did in fact clear my inbox for the Mail app.  But then I went to log on to my Outlook account and EVERY SINGLE EMAIL was gone.  And not in the Deleted box.  Just gone.  Here are the directions I followed that screwed everything up.  Please help.
    Top menu bar, Mail > Preferences > Accounts > Mailbox Behaviors.
    Uncheck "Store deleted messages on the server".
    At the drop list for "Permanently erase deleted messages when", choose "Quitting Mail".
    Next...
    Top menu bar, Mail > Preferences > General.
    At "When searching all mailboxes, include results from", uncheck "Trash".
    Select All = command A

    i found out my prob!
    here is what you do.
    go to the "system preferences" on your dock.
    click "software updates".
    click "installed software"
    if it shows something about a recent update about "EFI UPDATE, FIRMWARE, THUNDERBOLT" or anything like that, exit out of it.
    go to mail.
    click "mail" at the top.
    click "preferences...".
    find the account you are having trouble with, once you do, make sure its highlighted, then click the "-" at the bottom of the window (this will only effect that mail account, it will not effect your ical weather or not its synced thought that email account)
    hit the "+" (right next to the "-") and add your accout back!
    its something with that update that effected mail, i hope this works out for you, if not reply back

  • Installed Thunderbird on New drive but can't transfer emails and address books drom old drive to new PC.

    I have a computer I built that my dad who uses Thunderbird for his email. We had to remove the C: drive, which was a SSD drive because it was running out of space and replaced it with a Western Digital Veloci-Raptor 500GB drive. I am not familiar with Thunderbird and did not export his emails or address book before I switched the drives. I have set his new Thunderbird account to keep the mails on the server and not the PC. How can I get the old emails and address books from the old hard drive. I did copy the Thunderbird folder from the C: drive and the folder on the E: drive that Thunderbird was installed to. I have read many forums on how to move emails and address books to or from Thunderbird but non are like my situation. Hoe can retrieve the emails and address books from the previous install and transfer them over to the new PC once I have done a reinstall?

    first the old drive... the location varied between windows versions but it is either in Application data or appdata. In vista and above open the roaming folder. Both are hidden folders so you need to show hidden files and folders in Windows. Within that you will find a Thunderbird folder.
    The sub folders of that are the profiles, but simply copying the Thunderbird folder over it's like in the appdata\roaming of Vista and above will replace the existing with the old.
    Copy the actual profile in the folder called profile XXXX.default xxxx being a random string will place two profiles on the hard disk which can be opened individually using the profile manager. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_manager
    Finally individual folders of mail can be moved using the import export tools. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools/ You just need to locate the data. Folders are a file with no extension and another with the same name and an MSF extension. They are in sub folders of mail in the profile.

    Let me see if I understand correctly, you can access the Internet and email when on wifi, however when not on wifi, none of this works? Is this correct? If so, do you have a data plan with your carrier? Do you have cellular data turned on in Settings? When you look at your carrier in the upper left corner, do you see a signal, carrier name, and then 3G, 4G or LTE displayed? Have you contacted your carrier about this?

    You should see a list of available contacts which would make messages appear. Make certain that each family member has their own individual contact and NOT the same one that you use. I find it useful to have each family member have their own icloud email and use that for iMessaging my kids. My kids do not have iPhones, but if yours do, their phone number should be listed as well. For iPads and iTouches, use icloud email addresses. If you need to send a message to all 3 kids, say, you can just add all three emails to the To box on your iMessage.

    You need Lightroom 5.5 or later (the most current version is 5.7.1). This is a free update if you have already purchased an earlier version of Lightroom 5.
