I used to have a notepad option on my Mac mail toolbar before updating to Maverick. Can't find it now. Any help?

What are you calling a theme? Droid X will not download themes like Windows will. It will download wallpaper, which you can find by clicking on the menu button and then on wallpaper.

Where is my lost theme?

Editing a big presentation file in Keynote 6.1, originally created in Keynote 5 on my iMac. Using the Notebook theme (black spiral binding along top). Everything cool until I copy whole lot to my MacBook Air also running Keynote 6.1 under OS X 10.9.1. Now Notebook theme completely missing. Anyone know why or how I get it back?

On my iMac, Keynote 6.1 opens and notices the Notepad Keynote 5 theme of presentations originally created in Keynote 5 on the same iMac. When I Finder copy the saved presentation to my Macbook Air running a clean, freshly installed Keynote 6.1, the theme is lost and instead, I get a set of diagonal lines with a central question mark where my slide notepad theme graphic should be. When I save the theme to iCloud from my iMac, Keynote 6.1 on my Macbook Air can see it and save it to My Themes. But the resulting theme appears as diagonal lines indicating a missing graphic file when I try to use it.
So, everything is cool on my Mavericks/Keynote 6.1 iMac. It doesn't work on my Mavericks/Keynote 6.1 Macbook Air. I can't find where the missing resource is manually. Zapping and reinstalling a permissions repaired machine has not helped.
I have had to go back to Keynote 5.3. Bizarrely, I have had to zap Keynote 6.1 altogether since a Finder instruction (via Get Info) to double click open my .key files with Keynote 5.3 DOES NOT stick the files still try to open in Keynote 6.1.
What a shame Keynote 6.1 is unusable to me to the point of having to delete it completely. What is Apple doing?

Signature Reasons disappeared with upgrade to Acrobat XI

Our legal department uses the Certify with Visible Signature a lot. They have all created a number of custom Reasons, which they also use a lot. Today we upgraded a couple of them from Acrobat 9 to Acrobat XI, and their custom reasons are gone.
How do we get them back?

Here are the steps:
On a machine with Acrobat 9 click the Start button and run regedit
Expand the tree view on the left side of the Registry Editor dialog along the following path: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\9.0\Security\cPubSec\cReasons
Right mouse click on cReasons key and select Export from the pop-up menu
Select the Desktop as the Save in location and type "Reasons" in the File name field, and then click the Save button
Close the Registry Editor
Using Notepad open Reasons.reg located on the Desktop. NOTE: This is one place where the basic Notepad text editor works better then other more advanced text editors. This is due to other editors adding hidden codes (such as line feeds) that will prevent the file being imported.
When the file is opened in Notepad look for the line [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\9.0\Security\cPubSec\cReasons]
Change \9.0\ to \11.0\
Save and close the file
Copy the file to any machine that has Acrobat XI
Double click on the Reasons.reg file
Click the Yes button on the confirmation dialog
Click the OK button on the information dialog
Launch Acrobat XI and the reasons will be there when you sign

decide on a format, possibly one line per indicator.
type the document.
close notepad.
open LabVIEW.
Open the existing VI with all the indicators.
(are you still following?)
look at the diagram.
Who made the program?
Does the code make sense so far?
Is it a statemachine or just a bunch of crisscrossed wires?
Where do you want to add the file read?
How should the file be read (after pressing a read button, at the start of the program ,etc.)
See how far you get!

(ON the Phone) Sticky note like program WM5
I ask because I synced my Blackjack 1 to my pc after about a year and MANY notes later, All the notes from the PC remained but ALL new notes on phone (a years worth) were deleted from the phone.
I would like to attempt a data recovery on my mobile device- that was an insane endeavor but i got it to work now i just need to know what to look for (what type of files to recover) and or where to recover from?
I did make the phone a drive already and have data recovery software that can pull deleted files from the phone in fat or raw data format.

How to open an email that cannot be opened by regular programs. Notepad or Word show code only where picture is.

This has happened many times. I click on an attachment from a friend, it asks me to select a program to open the file, I try several, all with the same results. Some text and then where a picture is, all I get is code in a rectangle.

Does the attachment have a common file extension, such as PDF, DOC, PPS, etc.?
If you don't see the file extensions, they might be hidden. You can unhide them using
My Computer ''or'' Windows Explorer > Tools > Folder Options > View tab
Scroll down and turn off the hiding of file extensions.

How do I use mono and 1 spot colour for print, where the spot colour applies to an element, rather than the whole image?

I am struggling to work with spot colours, using scanned images edited in Photoshop for use in InDesign to then go to print.
We print to two plates to save money for our publication. In this case magenta and black.
I could use the spot colour mode but that works with curves and I only want a certain part magenta. Imagine a business card with a gloss finish where I only want to apply it to certain part ie the name of the employee, using a curve would match a certain shade therefore this method would be unsuitable.
I have also tried using channels, one grayscale and one magenta, but using the file types either InDesign bugs or it comes out in mono.
It isn't possible to recreate the logo in InDesign, if only it was this easy...
If someones already discussed this, I can't find it, but if someone could point me in the right direction—I'd be very grateful!

How to open and save file like the Notepad Demo do?

I am a newer to Java Web Start. I found that in the Notepad Demo, when user try to open or save file, a message box appear and give the user some security suggestions.
In my application, I used a JFileChooser and set the <security> element to <j2ee-application-client-permissions/> in the jnlp file. But the application will thow an exception:
access denied (java.io.FilePermission C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\desktop\Java Web Start.lnk read)
Can someone tell me how to solve this problem. By the way, where can I find the source of the Notepad Demo. I want my application to open and save file just like the Notepad Demo do.

Data read from text file(notepad) not enterd into particular field

Hi frends, I have used function "F4_FILENAME" and "GUI_UPLOAD" to upload a text file in notepad on my desktop to an internal table in SAP.after that i used the folowing code line to copy data from one table to other:

But my problem is that in tab2 i have total 5 fields.In notepad file i have written following two words:
achal
mehra
now when i copy the data from itab to tab2 , it shows word "achal" in the field 1 of 1st row and "mehra" in field 1 of 2nd row only.
what i want is to store "a" in field1 "c" in field2 and so on in row 1.
similarly "m" in the second row and field1.

1) Programming is an exercise in precision. That being said, what are the full paths of: your image files, your class files, and what package is your program in?
In that same package, what happens if you compile and run this program?

Where to file a complaint with Apple support for issues?

I've been havintg ALOT of issues as of late with my Macbook Pro. Let me start at the beginnig:
I took my Macbook in to the Apple store around December of last year, I was having an issue with the screen. When it was pushed back a bit too far, it would fizzle and fuzz like a tv out of focus, push it back more and the screen would go out. Harmless, simple problem to fix. Right? okay so fast forward about a day, I started having wireless issues, I thought nothing of it, and took it in. They looked at it, ran a couple tests on it, said that it was fine and that they couldn' t reproduce the problem, and they also stated that there may in fact be something wrong with the internet in my home. I thought okay maybe. Seeing as my husband and I actually work for the cable company so its next to no problem getting the modem replaced. Well about three modems and a complete rewiring of our house later, and I am still having the intermittent problems. Even once allowing for them to wipe my hard drive and reset the computer. I got it home and was having the same issues, so I'd gone ahead and upgraded to Mountain Lion. Last weekend, I was on the phone yet again with an Apple rep, and they are telling me the same old thing, they keep telling me that it had to be a wireless issue on my part, I'd made a point to let them know that was not the case.
After I got off of the call, something weird happened, my mouse pointer on the screen began to move accross the screen and select things and programs began to open on their own. The screen flipped to the Hub, where the clock, calender, notepad and Movie Ticker are, and opened up the reset and dictionary in Safari while also zooming in on the window, forcing me to hard reset the computer pretty much every 20 minutes or so. When I do this, the Silverlight preferences bar, pops up on the top of a blank screen. I was even at the Apple store when it happened.
All of the people that I have spoken to, have basically treated me like an idiot, and its getting pretty old, I spent almost 4 hours on the phone last night, after my call was escalated, I was on the phone so long that my cell phone died, and then my husbands phone died. I'd had the call escalated ALL the way to a superviser in Customer Relations. After dealing with this issue for three months, I finally lost my patience with it and asked them to replace it, to which the supervisor replied "If it is a software issue, replacing the computer will not fix the problem" Really? Because if I have a different computer I can safely assume that this issue will no longer exist for me, and I can get on with my education.
I am a student recieving veterans benefits to go to school, I have missed ALOT of school because of this issue, what should I do about it? After having my computer for three days, they sent it out to the national repair center for about another week. I informed them that as a student, I don't have a lot of time to fight this thing, I'm already on academic probation because this issue has not been fixed, and I am facing termination from my program as well as having to reimburse the VA for the money they have paid the school. I'm about to start losing money, as well as my education and I don't know what to do at this point. I feel like I have exasperated all of my resources at this time. I cannot afford to replace the computer myself, and this is becoming a ver frustrating situation.
Is there ANYONE else I can speak to about this issue as time is of the essence and I can't wait any longer.

As I read it you have several issues:
1. screen problem. What was done about it? Was it reproducible at an Apple store or AASP?
2. wireless issue. Please elaborate on that problem.
3. mouse pointer doing weird things. "The screen flipped to the Hub, where the clock, calender, notepad and Movie Ticker are," Please elaborate. I don't know the Hub, clock, calender, notepad and Movie Ticker. What are these?

RESTORING notepad info and iPhone shot pictures after restoring iPhone

I restored my iPhone after upgrading to 2.0 while trying to correct a problem only to finally solve this problem by re-installing the latest iTunes software at the suggestion of an Apple support tech person. I was aware that data would be erased, etc but was so frustrated by problem at the time I didn't care.
Now I remember some things I had on the notepad I had not 'noted' else where and I also had some pictures I took with my iPhone I would love to have back. Is there anyway I can recapture this information from a backup file, etc?

Photos captured by the iPhone should be included with your iPhone's backup, which is created and maintained by iTunes during the sync process.

Photos captured by the iPhone is not included with this list but it isn't a good idea to rely on the backup for photos that were captured by your iPhone. As with any other digital camera, you should import these photos to your computer. Since you have a Mac, you can use iPhoto for this if you use iPhoto for photo storage and if not, you can use the Image Capture application located in your Applications folder to import these photos to the desired location on your hard drive. This way you have a copy of these photos on your computer not relying on the iPhone's backup for this only. If you don't import these photos and your iPhone is lost or stolen, these photos will be lost or stolen with your iPhone. And if your iPhone's backup become corrupt or there is a problem with it, you have a copy of the photos on your computer for access (which can be transferred to your iPhone via the sync process), and you can maintain a backup for these photos separately along with all your other important data.
Did you restore your iPhone from your iPhone's backup, or as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup?

Why can't I copy and paste from my notepad?

I am trying to "copy" from my notepad and "paste" it to another site. It won't work!! Is it the other site or something I am doing wrong??

I touch the screen, then touch "select all", then touch "copy". (I'm
trying to paste it into a dating site - no laughing, please?!?! - in
reply to a message someone sent me.) I go to the site and touch
and hold my finger where I want to paste it, but when I have the option
of touching "paste", nothing pastes. Sure has me baffled!!!!????

Where is this "software"?

I have typed in a TON of other questions and everyone keeps tellin gme the SAME thing, so I'm just going to type my OWN question...
OK Here goes!!!!!
I JUST bought a 2nd gen ipod shuffle...
Followed the instructions(dl itunes, plugged it in, search for hardware) and then it tells me "The hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary software".... YAH ok so I try to search for it manually... no dice, I've tried C:\WINDOWS\system32, C:\WINDOWS\INF, and I've even tried just PLAIN OLD C:\....and when I try and do that, it tells me that ((in basic terms)) it's unable to search JUST C:\....dumb, JUST PLAIN dumb...
AND BEFORE YOU ASK... YES... i've tried the 5 R's.. YES... I've uninstalled and RE-installed itunes... YES it is fully charged witha blinking orange light when I plug it into my computer, YES I have tried every single USB port...what else have I done... I've uninstalled quicktime... I've done that thing where you save the notepad file ipodapple.bat or whatever.... and deleted temp flies, ran a defreag, virus scan, spyware scan, registry scan etc. ipod doesn't show up in my computer OR in itunes... it shows up in device manager as "Other Devices" and it has a BIG YELLOW question mark in front of it and says "iPod"....
I called the apple tech support people... and we tried ALL of the above... ALL OVER AGAIN... and then she decided to send me to a... ah, I don't know.. device specialist or something... and I'd already been on the phone for 52 minutes, and i had to go to work... SO I said SORRY gotta go GOOD BYE.
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... all you computer wiz's out there.... gotta help me out, I feel like a complete moron. I've already bought MUSIC! AH.. HELP please... I'll give you a dollar... A hug.... A.... piece of candy.. JUST PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD HELP ME.

Cyndi - If it's any consolation, you're not alone. I have two iPods (a 2nd gen Nano and a 2nd gen Shuffle) that both my Vista and XP computers recognize. I just bought a second Shuffle, which the Vista computer will recognize, but the XP laptop won't. I've tried everything you tried, and just exchanged it for a "non-defective" unit, but the replacement behaves exactly the same...it's recognized by the Vista, but not the XP. I even copied the XP drivers from the Shuffle that works on the XP, but the new Shuffle won't accept them when I attempt to manually install the drivers. I'm guessing Apple made a recent change in the Shuffle software that prevents some XP computers from installing it. There are zillions of similar complaints on the internet, so hopefully Apple will come up with a fix. Good luck.
