Where'd my songs go? How do I find them?

I have 9200 Audio Files in iTunes. When I plugged my new 60gb iPod in it only loaded 9199 songs onto it, in the iTunes ipod window it says 9199, all are checked for loading to the iPod...
Now the really weird part - the iPod itself says it only has 9195 songs on it (from the about menu on the iPod).
So where'd my 1 to 5 songs go? How do I find them? I have searched for hours now and I can't identify even which songs are missing...
Thanks in advance!
Dave

See if this helps...

  • "The song ______ could not be used because the original could not be found. Would you like to locate it?"  Getting this message, only download 10.6.3.... where could they be? how do I find them on my PC?

Trying to find songs? No other changes to computer, just the download of itunes 10.6.3.??
How do I find the originals or get them back??

The default location for iTunes downloads on Windows Vista is under : \Users\username\My Music\ (where username is the name that you've chosen to use on your computer). If you do 'get info' (control-I) on one of the tracks (and tap 'no' on the 'would you like to locate' popup) then you might be able to see where iTunes is expecting to find that track (it should show at the bottom of the Summary tab).
If you can't find your iTunes downloads underneath that folder (and you can't find it via a search in windows explorer) then depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then you could try redownloading them via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes. If you still have the entries for them on your iTunes library, then even though the files behind them may no longer exist on your computer, iTunes will assume that you still have them and won't let you re-download them, so you need to delete the iTunes entries first before trying re-downloading.

That's not how to do it. You don't move stuff then set the iTunes prefs > Advanced.
Once you move the /iTunes/ folder, hold Option, launch iTunes and select Choose library... and select the ITunes folder on the external.
This will use the iTunes library file in the iTunes folder you moved.
Don't change iTunes prefs > Advanced.

  • I seem to have lost all of my playlists and more than half my songs. How do I get them back? Dont know what I did wrong? Please Help

I seem to have lost all my original playlists and more than half my songs. How do I get them back, where did I go wrong?
If I was to press "restore" does this wipe everything off my library? I always thought that you could never loose songs? That they were always stored somewhere
    in there. Please help,

If those tabs aren't in History > Recently Closed Tabs or Windows then they are probably lost.
You can try to search them in the History if you haven't bookmarked them.
Using the "Show my windows and tabs from last time" setting is a more reliable way to restore session data.
    * Tools > Options > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts": "Show my windows and tabs from last time"

upgraded ios on my ipod touch but it deleated songs. How do I get them back?

You can redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
For other music you need to get them from where you obtained them the originally.

  • I lost my playlists. Where did it go? How can I relocate them?

i lost my playlists. where did it go? how can i relocate them?

    Canuck,
Make sure you are looking at a playlist in your iTunes library.  Not a playlist folder.  Not on your connected device.    Not your overall Music library.
Make sure all the songs are present on your computer.  Not missing.  And not in the cloud.

Hi! I am new to itunes store. I have put 10 songs in my wish list that I want to purchase but can't seem to find a purchase icon. How do I do this?
One song at a time.  Open the Wish List, and click on the price for the song.
(Older versions of iTunes had a "Buy All" button to allow purchasing the whole list at once, but that feature is no longer there.)

    - Try resetting the iPod. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Next, restore from backup.

  • I just downloaded the new iOS 5.0 and did all of the backup prompted steps beforehand, but I can't figure out how to get all of my apps and music back on my iPhone. Where did they go and how can I put them back on my iPhone?

    Hi, Abril_Perez17.
This may be related to a new feature embedded in iOS7 that shows all purchased music by default.  Go to Settings > Music, then turn off Show All Music.  See if the issue ceases once the feature has been disabled.  This information is located on page 63 of the user guide below.

  • I have pages and now I have lost half my documents where did they go and how do I get them back

I have an IPad and use Pages.  Now half of my documents are gone.  Where did they go and how do I get them back.

If you backup your iPad, then the documents should be in your backup. If you have important documents in any app, you should backup very frequently in the event that something happens so that you can restore them from the backup.
If you use iOS file sharing with iTunes, then the documents might be in your iTunes library.
If you use iCloud with Pages, check in iCloud, com and see if they appear in there. I don't think it is likely that they will be there, if they disappeared from the iPad, but it is worth a try anyway.
In the event that this is some software glitch, try closing the Pages app, reboot the iPad and then launch Pages again.
Tap the home button once. Then tap the home button twice and the recents tray will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the Pages icon. Tap the home button twice.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If you don't backup, don't use iOS file sharing or don't use iCloud, then most likely your files are gone and you will not be able to retrieve them.

  • My iPhone 5 was restored from backup, and while it was restoring everything else all my pictures slowly went from 900 to none. where did they go and how do I get them back?

My iPhone has been acting very strange lately and the only way to get it to turn on and function is to restore it. I restored it from a backup of my phone before I restored it. I was mostly worried about my pictures. I was relieved to see them all there,
until the number of photos in my camera roll and other albums began to go down. soon enough, all the pictures I had restored were deleted. where did they go and how can I get them back?

    Hi bluegrandpanash,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you backed up your iPhone to iCloud before updating the software, first try the steps under "Restore from an iCloud backup" in this article to recover your data:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes

  • HT2045 I accidentally put some cd books in the songs.  How do I get them to the right file

I accidentally put some of my cd books in the songs.  How do I get them to the books?

Select the "songs" that are books in the iTunes music library listing.  You can do this one at a time, or by selecting them all at once.
Right (or Control) click on the selection and select Get Info.  In the Info window, go to the Options tab.  Change Media Kind to Audiobook.  Click OK.

If the music is purchased through iTunes:

If the music is not purchased through iTunes:
