Where'd the channel strip go?

i've lost the channel strip, tool box, etc somehow, and can't get it back. can anyone help?

it's the whole left side, everything that's not the arrange window - MIDI THRU, Tool box, GM Device, and Channel Strip...it all disappeared. I've tried "view" but there doesn't seem to be a relevant option.

  • Instrument Plugins No longer show up in the Channel Strip Area?

I’ve been working with Mainstage 3 quite extensively now.
    OS X Version 10.8.5
It’s been incredible and I really love the program.
Just Today, I noticed the instrument plug-ins don’t show up in the
channel strip area. Only the Audio and Mide FX plugins.
I tried the View dropdown menu list options
Where it says “Hide Plugins” with a “V” shortcut only,
But it doesn’t change anything, either way.
I tried re-booting the computer. starting a new concert, new patch with channel strip, etc.
Luckily, everything I programmed still works, but I can no longer edit anything anymore.
So the instrument plugins are still working, but I don’t see them in the Channel Strip area.
Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated!!

In edit mode, try pressing command>6(for future reference, command>5 toggles the screen control inspector).

  • All of a sudden, I can no longer add any plugins to any channel strips? And when I click on an existing plugin to edit, it disappears off the channel strip?

I am running Logic express 9 on a 2008 Macbook, (non pro).  Anyhow, logic has always seemed to work great for me.  However, last week I opened up one of many existing projects, (I'm in sample editor).  When I went to add a new plugin to one of the channel strips it would not allow me to.  Also, if I click on any plugin that already exists on the channel strip it dissapears? The strange thing that also happens weather I click to add a new plugin or click on an already existing plugin, is both the  "repeat section" and "crop", buttons from the above menu (in sample editor), the actual buttons become a faded image,(as far as the actual font and images of the buttons).  As soon as I am done clicking to add a plugin on the channel strip, both buttons from the menu  go back to looking normal like all of the other choices from that menu?  I really don't get it?  All I want to do is to be able to add plugins as well as edit or change plugins again. Any thoughts as to why I can no longer add any new plugins to any channel strips?  And why any existing plugins disappear from the channel strip when I click on it?  Why the "repeat section", and "Crop", buttons from the menu above fade in and out when I try clicking on the channel strip is very strange? I don't mind that I just want to be able to add or edit plugins again.  I did do some document cleaning up last week as my memory was getting low.  I then emptied out my trash bin.  I'm hoping I didn't accidentally delete some kind of Logic component?  Why can't I add or edit plugins anymore?  Anyone ever run across this?
    Thanks,
    Mike.

    Mike,
Are any of your other applications going wonky, or is it just Logic?
I'm afraid I've never heard of this particular problem before, but if it were happening to me the first thing I would do is delete my "com.apple.logic.express.plist" file in Library>Preferences, then repair permissions in Disc Utility, and finally restart my computer.  Then I would launch Logic and see if the problem has been corrected.  It's amazing how much these two steps can accomplish.
If that doesn't resolve the issue I would launch Logic and go to Preferences>Audio Units Manager to see if all my plug-ins are properly validated.

  • Can program change info be sent to the channel strip?

Hi there, I have old logic midi files to update for use in logic pro7. I have set up an autoload template which I then drag the old logic files into so that I get the environment settings that I want and have some uniformity with all my files.
Is there a way I can get program change info and midi instrument settings from the event list, (in the midi tracks dragged in) transfered/sent into the channel strip?
Can the track info like control change, volume settings, pg ch, etc be sent to the channel strip so that they match?
I struggled trying to explain that I hope it's clear. Please help if you can.
    Cheers,
    Mojo

i think you have to double the track, and have the different CS on each channel

  • Is it possible to copy all the channel strip info to another Logic project?

    Hi
I'm trying to combine two projects so that I can crossfade from one to another yet still have full mix control. I've figured out how to copy the audio files (drag and drop), and that's brilliant, but I'd like to keep all my channel info without having to copy every single strip and rename them. Can anyone shed light on this and save me a couple of hours?
    Thanks

Yeah, as Miles says, the track import function might be your best bet - you have to navigate to the files you want - double click on the Project file name to see what's in there and you can bring back your channel strips and the track contents, there are a few options to choose to decide what you want, but that's OK, innit ?
As DataStream says, you can even bring back the Mixer configuration, so that's something else to think about.

  • Where did the channel go?

Sometime last night, about 9:30 I'm guessing, channel 474 WETA UK just started playing something completely different. It continues this morning. Did anyone else experience this? Where did that channel go?

I guess the same place the other "Coming Soon" channels went to. I am wondering what happend to all those in the November guide that has not been updated, but have vanished from the STB. Is the economy so bad that we can not get what was promised? Last I looked we are still paying. I guess it depends on what coming soon means to you. Kinda like it depends on what is is.

  • Where is the tab strip located in FF10?

Hi all. I am still on FF3.6. Went FF4 when released but quickly retroceded and stayed on since. In FF10, what is the default location of the tab strip, right above the display area or in the topmost part of the window (above the navigation bar) as in FF4? If the latter, can it be moved to the former? If so, what built-in command for the move? Thanks for your answer.

Not sure if I fully understand your questions. However, if you want to change the location of the Tab strip, right-click the blank area next to the tabs and then you can use the "Tabs on Top" option to toggle two positions. Also, if you don't want to display the menu bar, you can right-click in the same blank area and un-check the Menu Bar option. Hope this helps.
    Edit: corrected typo

  • Where is the channels palette in Photoshop Elements 11?

Is there one?  Where is it?
I'm trying to map some text over a photo so it looks like the text is printed on it, i.e., follows the contours of the photo, and I used to do it with channels.  But I just upgraded to PS 11 (Macintosh) and can't find it.
    Help!

Or, I'm wondering if I'm not understanding what you want to do. I took your question to mean that you want to follow the outline of an object in PSE. If you mean you want to make text look like it's painted on a brick wall, for example, in a way that follows the contour of the bricks or is printed on a rumpled t-shirt, say, you want to use the Displacement map (Filter>Distort>Displace).

  • Where is the channel definition stored

In LabVIEW and LabWindows/CVI, when you plug in a USB digital I/O device, the Ports must be defined as channels. Where is this information stored if I want to move a Project from one machine to another please?
While speaking of machine portability, how do I install the Professional Development System after I have installed the Full Development System? Un-installing LabVIEW FDS and re-installing PDS still leaves me with FDS, there must be registry issues. We have licences for both and I want to upgrade some lab PC's.

    Hi kazinoz,
In addition to what Steven posted, you will only need to change your activation to move from LabVIEW Full to Professional. This can be done in the NI License Manager. Additional information on product activation can be found in this article.

  • Where is the channel width setting?

I'm trying to optimize my Airport settings for a wide range of devices and learned from this Apple Support Article about "Channel Width."
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4199
It's frustrating to see such references in these articles yet find no corresponding setting in Airport Utility. We have a fourth generation TC and the article was written in Nov, 2011, so they should correspond. Our AU version is 5.5.3 and there are no available updates from within AU or through general Software Update. Could there be a firmware update not available through these channels? I'd appreciate any help solving this little mystery.

    The guide line..
Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
Is to cover all brands of routers and indeed correspond exactly to what Apple preset their own products.
Apple is biased in certain areas and other manufacturers do allow other settings than Apple recommends. Wireless in some ways is yet an infant technology still ruled by much voodoo and need to offer suitable numbers of chicken livers to the gods of ether.. and even with Apple products where so many controls are hidden or non-existent.. it doesn't always work as it should. We are on the way to wireless nirvana!! IMHO the journey is endless. No sooner will a solution be found to a problem than a new one will crop up. If it works as it generally does.. without wires.. be thankful.

  • Creating extra send buttons on the channel strips

I am having a difficult time in finding a way to add mor sends than the two (2) sends I currently have. I need more, at least four (4). I believe that there are eight (8) available in Logic Pro 7.1. What is the procedure to add (create) additional sends. I have checked the manuals, and can find nothing pertaining to this. I could use some help here.
    Thanks - JJFournet

Like, "duh", I figured it out last night! Thanks for your response, though.
And thanks for the responses from the other helpful people.

  • How can I get back all the factory channel strip presets?

    Hi Guys
I have deleted some of the channel strip presets in Logic 8, is there any easy way of getting back all the original factory ones?
    Cheers,

    Hey there,
    Thanks for the quick reply!
Once I find them, do I just drag them into a specific presets folder on the Mac? (if so, which folder?)
Or can the installer be run just for the channel strip presets?
I don't want to end up with duplicates by mistake, either!
    Thanks again,
    Mike
    Yes, you drag them over.
Roght click on the installer packages on the DVDs, and click on the "show package conte4nts" button. This will open the installer package, then navigate until you find the presets. If you have several DVDs, it may take time to get to them, but they're there.
You'll have to place them in your drive here :
Macintosh HD / Library / Application Support / Logic /
That is where all the presets are found. You might have to enter your admin password to copy them over.
