Where'd this GNOME come from?

Logged in this morning and did a quick pacman -Syu only to find out that Gnome desktop and all it's dependencies (555Mb of them) are now required to update my XFCE only machine. What happened? how do I find out which package did me in?

xpdf is yet another.
and since you are thinking about going lighter....go for it. I think Openbox is a much better alternative than any DE -- provided you can configure your system with what you need. But once you do it, it just grows on you.
I went from Gnome --> Xfce -- and found it lighter and a bit faster but not by much. Then I started WM-hopping and tried a large number of them, fluxbox, openbox, pekwm, IceWM, FVWM, FVWM-crystal and many that i don't even rbr now. It was fun. Openbox was the best among them all, followed closely by Fluxbox and PekWM.
But then I ventured into tiling WMs and have never looked back. Haven't logged into my openbox since a year now.

File Utilization by Workspace - Where does this information come from

I am looking at the Manage Workspaces>File Utilization by Workspace screen when logged in to my apex (4.0.2.00.07) installation as internal user I see that a particular workspace has 154MB. But when I try to find out what in this workspace is using so much I can only find 4.3 MB of usage (with select sum(bytes)/1014/1024 "MB" from dba_segments where owner = <schema_name>;).
I am using this on a Oracle 10.0.2.4.0 on a Sun Solaris 10 box.
When I pushed my DBA for digging further they wanted me to put in a SR... I did (SR 3-6331564231) and was told to use this forum.
Any help to what this built in File Utilization report is looking at will be helpful.

The final answer is that these files are in the Export Repository. In apex 4.0 you have to manually manage these. You can find this on the home page by clicking on the Export Repository link or by going to the export repository for each application.
To access the Export Repository:
1. On the Workspace home page, click the Application Builder icon.
2. Select an application.
3. On the Application home page, click Utilities.
4. Click Export Repository.

I don't actually want any errors. Where am I going wrong and how do I fix it. I just need to execute a method in a Javabean that is not a getter or setter method?

It seems to me that you have more than one copy of class Bean2 on your server. And one of them doesn't have DbDescription method in it. Clean the old copies of exisiting class files from your disk. Java doesn't do version control, so these kind of errors are very hard to locate.

Where did this volume come from?

I was just about to burn a disk image I made from iDVD onto a DVD-R and when I was using Disk Utility to set it up I got a window titled "Select Image to Burn" that listed the following volumes.
iMac Clone
Macintosh HD
Microsoft Office 2000 Pro.dmg
Netfolder
Time Machine.
I recognize the Microsoft Office 2000 Pro.dmg as something I used when I was trying to set up Virtual PC but I don't know why it is in this list or how to get rid of it. It is not on my desktop and this is the first time I've seen it. I tried to drag it to the trash but it still remains. All of the other volumes I recognize.
Where and what is this file and how do I get rid of it?

Try this:
1. In the Finder's Go menu items, select the "Go to Folder..." option
2. Type in this
/Volumes
and hit the the Go button
3. A new Finder window will open displaying the contents of the otherwise invisible Volumes folder
4. Check the list--what SHOULD be there are just aliases to all your mounted drives, if the errant dmg file is there drag it out and onto the Desktop
Sometimes mishaps happen and odd things get lodged in the /Volumes folder. Sound like this might be the case.

Where does this output come from?

Since this morning I get the following message on my output console when I start my application, but I have no idea what triggers it.
I did determine that this class is responsible [ oracle.jbo.common.DebugDiagnostic ], but there's no source available for me to inspect. JDeveloper's help function (searched for "DebugDiagnostic" -- 1 topic) did not provide the right answer either.
It appears that this class is part of BC4J's debug output system, but I don't have logging enabled as far as I know. Other than this particular message, no other messages are displayed.
Can anyone provide some information regarding this matter? What does it mean? Why does it appear?

ERR-1016 --- Where does this error come from?

I can't reproduce this at will. It's something unpredictable. Sometimes when I log into my app I get this error.
ERR-1016 Application "113" Page "1" not found (requested language="en-us")
My app doesn't have a page 1, but that shouldn't matter, because on log in the user should be taken to page 100. The frustrating thing is, most of the time it does.
I have no idea how to troubleshoot this.

SWI tried that. First I had to take off ":SESSION" because of the Web Page not found error. Then I ran it with APP_ID.:HOME and it brought me to my login page. When I logged in, it got to page 100 (HOME page) with no problems.
Then I logged out. When I logged out, if found that ":1" had replaced HOME in the http. When I logged in again, I ran into the same old problem. I need to get this resolved because I want to demo this app for the user in the next 72 hours.

My sister just hit me up with this quextion / problem.. This countdown showed up on her macbook's menu bar. I'm suspeccting it has something to do with her using the new airport extreme n.
Anybody seen this? know how to control its display

Open the AirPort icon and move down to the name of your network, and you'll see that you can turn off or on that display of the network's uptime since last restart.

Where did this ? come from in my finder?

I just realized there was a ? mark in my finder and decided to click on it. And it says item cannot be found. Is this something new?

If there wasn't previously a file or folder there, control-click it and choose Remove Item or Customize Toolbar and remove it, or command-click it and drag it out. If there was, that item may have been moved or deleted.

I have a user set up in active directory. This user is rwolf (CN=rwolf,OU=acme,DC=bfs-cust-tst,DC=local). Assume I run the code below in 'protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)'.

Whenever you add the user to the permissions or some other place. It create a list item in the hidden list called user information list. The ID which you are referring belong that list item.

Where do array Methods Come From?

I've been curious about this for awhile. I can't find anything useful on google; all I end up with are array tutorials, which don't go into the "meat and potatoes" of my question at all.
It's probably easiest to point out what I'm asking by posting the following first:

However, for lack of better wording, where does that method come from? I used eclipse's "open declaration" feature on the method, and it took me to toString in Object. But I didn't think a basic array was an Object?
Similarly, where is the length field stored (eclipse's "open declaration" feature doesn't work on it)? It has to be encapsulated by some class somewhere, right?
Is there a hidden class that extends Object (duh) and encapsulates the information for an array, and does the java compiler just translate the array syntax into calls to that class? Or am I missing something?

Every array has an associated Class object, shared with all other arrays with the same component type. The direct superclass of an array type is Object. Every array type implements the interfaces Cloneable and java.io.Serializable.
There isn't a general single Array class the way you're thinking (java.lang.reflect.Array isn't what you're looking for). Arrays have special support in the Java language, as described in the JLS.
Why go through the trouble of having special syntax for an array if there's a class that could have been used just like any other class?Tradition.

Where did these tracks come from?

I was helping a friend hook up his IPOD. His IPOD was given to him by a friend. ITUNES was already on his PC.
When I connected the IPOD, ITUNES started "converting" a bunch of songs from one format to antoher. It took so long I had to cancel it. But already there were about 10 albums that had been "converted" and now appeared in his library.
I just assumed these were songs from his IPOD. But when I browsed the IPOD using the ipod screen, it shows up empty.
(1) Where did these songs come from?
(2) How would I get the rest of the songs, wherever they are?
(NOTE FYI -- I also am having a problem updating, can't update ipod, option is greyed out. I tried "restoring" the ipod, no help. I didn't do a reset because I did't know how. I will when I return)

I'm always willing to be proven wrong, but to my understanding iTunes will under no circumstances add music from your iPod into the library on the PC. There is no supported way to move music from the iPod to the PC.
There are, however, 3rd party applications that will do this.
As for where the imported music was coming from, my guess would be an existing Mp3 or wma music collection the person had on their PC. If itunes searched the pc for music when it first was installed, and found files not in .m4a format, it would convert them and import them into the library.
What are the tracks? It could have even been importing the sample music or system sounds that come with windows, I suppose.

APO to BI Data Flow :
1. Normally APO DS naming convention start with "9".
2. Normally Planning area will provide the data for the DS.
3. Using one T-Code ( /N/SAP/ ..... Ask APO Person) DS will be generated .In the specified T-Code you will provide the relavant
Planning area and DS will be generated.
4.As you know RSA3 is for checing the data for DS.If you found there is no data for some fields then you will check the data at the planning area level (In R/3 table level).
