Where did everything go?

Can someone please help me out here? I used to plug in my phone with the USB cord, back up and restore my information on my Iphone 4s...update the software, do another back up and restore and then I was done. Now? Well I thought I had iTunes up then I clicked on my phone's name on the top right of the screen...now it's gone and I have a page saying "Apple iTunes Everything you need." That's not quite what I expected. lol Can I please get some help here to find my missing apps, music...oh and what I wanted to do originally was to transfer my photos with the itransfer app so I can finally do the software update. I never do the OS updates when they first come out. They always have bugs and hiccups. (btw I used to be a web chat tech for another major wireless company, that's how I know. Well actually I worked for another company who had the contract with them. Contract was not renewed...350+ ppl lost their jobs at the same time. : { But we will be ok...The 27th will be 2 years unemployed for me. But, I will be fine...
Any help appreciated.

Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
If, for some inexplicable reason, the media has been removed from your computer seeRecover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

Where did everything went?!

Hi everyone,
I searched before postong this, but didn't found anything related...
I did a battery pull to my curve and after rebooting my apps are gone. They are not unistalled, simply gone.
I can see them on my aplications list, but nowhere else..no icons, nothing in folders, I switched themes, did another battery pull...
So, where did it all went? the notifications still appear on my main screen but I cant access my apps!!
(facebook, bb messenger, windows live msn, etc etc etc.....)

Why does the iCal app on my MacBook Pro only have a 2-year archive? Where did everything before that go? And can I get it back?

I use my iCal as a daybook and every now and again need to reference events or occurences from several years ago. I tried to look something up from back in 2010 and the iCal on my MacBook Pro only has iCal data from Jan 1, 2011 onwards. Everything I've put in prior to that seems to have disappeared! I can't find anything under preferences that mentions archiving/storage. Can I change the setting so that this info is kept forever? And can I get my previous info back?

You can only sync with one computer. When you synced to the new computer it would have erased it and synced what was on the new computer.
You always need to have a backup, an iPhone is not a storage device.
When you get a new computer you need to transfer your library before syncing
If you don't have a backup you may be out of luck
The only thing would be if you're in the US and have access to the iCloud beta to reload purchases

Please let me know the exact workflow you are following.
Are you trying to access the service from within Reader? If so, please make sure that you have the most current version by choosing Help > Check for Updates (the error you describe can occur with other versions of Reader). If you're accessing it from a website, clear the browser cache and try logging in again. Also, make sure that you're using a supported web browser (System requirements | Acrobat.com).

The email response is automated, and almost certainly is detected as "junk" or "spam". So, try again and check your spam folders for their reply.

I have just done exactly the same thing! How frustrating!!!

My iPhone 5 was restored from backup, and while it was restoring everything else all my pictures slowly went from 900 to none. where did they go and how do I get them back?

But it does somehow my English security answers do not work on a Japanese Question especialy if I did not choose that question I set up the multiple choice In English and wrote the answers in English or Roman and set them langauge preferences in English, do you really think you can correctly write english name or word in Japanese they write a police patrol car pato caa パトカア　they do not have r and l .So it is my choice to make my security easy for me and as difficult for others to hack.But they also have patororoo choo meaning ' now patrolling ' so why they have pato caa patrol car and patoro patrol and have thousands of Chinese words kanji they can find patrol.

Import From Elements - where did it go

I noticed that the Michael Tapes 'Import' video showed an 'Import From Elements' menu item on the file menu. I have the 4.1 beta installed and this item does not appear in the file menu. Where did it go or is there another way to import a PSE catalog straight into LR.

I'm hoping that this whole process is unnecessary. By seeing the "Import from Elements" option, I am currently hoping/assuming that this means it will import the actual PSE Organizer catalog into LR. PSE Organizer uses .psa files for each catalog. I am hoping that by selecting the "Import from Elements" options, LR will take your .psa file (Photoshop Elements Organizer Catalog) and convert it into a .aglib file (Lightroom Library). The tags, categories and subcategories should be converted to the Lightroom equivalent of keywords, parent keywords, and child keywords (or whatever they're called in LR). In doing this, there should be no preparation of anything in PSE Organizer. If I'm understanding what Susan just said she did, it seems that the actions you just took Susan by making everything a category just took away all hierarchical tags (or parent/child information), for their is no heirarchy in the IPTC keywords fields, unless I'm mistaken.
Once again, I'm assuming this is how it will work and I hope I'm right . . . any other way just doesn't seem to make any sense. The "Import from Elements" option would not be needed if you've already embedded all of your tags into the files (or made all of your tags into categories and embedded that). If that information is already embedded in the file, then just import the files through the typical import dialog and it will find that information. There is no need to worry about the catalog or the "Import from Elements" command at all. My hope is that I don't need to do this and I can just convert the catalog on the fly (much like when you upgrade from say PSE Organizer version 3 to PSE Organizer version 5). Regardless, I will wait until LR is released before I take any steps to start the conversion process. I don't want to compomise something that I've spent years creating and works great already because I'm guessing or assuming how something may or may not work. I guess we shall all know soon enough (or even sooner if a final release tester can confirm this in any way).

Because it says it's incompatible when it can't be, I got hope. I get error messages all the time with my iPod and iPhone that it cannot sync and that 'this device is not capapble of connecting to iTunes' stuff. I literally forget that happened, plug it in again and it works, I later realize that iTunes made a mistake, they do that.

My Library folder is missing-where did it go?

My mail app has stopped working. It was suggested in another thread that I go to the mail folder in the Library folder and delete
some items from the V2 file or folder. Problem is, I have no Library folder. Not there. Missing. Utterly confused. Searched all over the computer,
and stil MIA. How does this happen. My HD was replaced earlier this week by Apple. Old one crashed and burned. Everything worked fine until last night.
The mail won't open. Eberything else on computer works fine (so far). When I made a new folder and named it Library, box said name already in use. So this tells me it's hiding. How do I get it back. Any suggestions?

I created a webpage on iWeb in 2011. It's on line. It has worked great. Tonight I wanted to do some editing, which I do about monthly, I opened iWeb and my page is gone. Where did it go?

You need to find your iWeb data storage.
Everything to do with iWeb is stored under your User/Library/Application Support/iWeb/domain.sites.
It is your domain.sites file that you need to find, as this is where all your data is stored. Find that file and double click it and iWeb will open it and you have your site.
If you can't find the file, either do a spotlight search or use the App find any file.

Where did my backup go?

So i decided to update itunes and ios on my iphone 4 using my old laptop as my current one kept giving me an error saying the session could not be started.
when i first connected my phone to my old laptop, i specifically did a manual backup and it took quite a while but was apparently successful. so ahead i go and download itunes and the new ios, install everything and then i get a "an unknown error (-50) has occurred" ARGH! so i click ok, and it wants to restore. except the back up i did is not there?????????? where did it go? have i lost it forever?? the last backup on that laptop was in april, so i've just lost a good 6months worth of apps, data, contacts, messages, pictures etc.
is there any way i can get it back??? please help!!!
